Palace Pre Match

We won by a sole Grayson goal.

Not really a hammering.

Sigh...

We always lose at Upton Park too don't we?

Actually, one of my best memories of following City away was when we hammered the Dons at Selhurst in semi-final the League Cup.

You mean when we hammered them 1-1?

Shit - I'd forgotten Gayle's goal. I just remember the euphoria of Grayson's goal and that it was a gutsy performance by City - yeah apologies, we went through by virtue of the away goal after a goalless draw at Filbert Street.

No real deal, but perhaps read the thread properly before commenting.

We dont really need to win this game. A draw is perfectly fine.

We need to win, if Tottenham draw away at Liverpool we'll see that as good result for us as they've dropped two points.

If we draw and they beat Bournemouth then they're just one result from going ahead of us. Even if we both won all our remaining fixtures going into the last game of the season a defeat at Chelsea would probably cost us the title.

It's a MUST WIN as are all our next five games, solitary points don't win you titles at this stage of the season. We need to win to keep the pressure on them to keep winning.

Not really - win our home games and draw our away and we will win the league. However, keep winning and we'll win it with games to spare.

Fair enough.

It still wasnt a 'hammering' as previously stated.

Back to the weekend, they are bound to win sooner or later and they looked pretty decent going forward in the cup (albeit against Reading).

If their front 3 of Bolasie, Zaha and Adebayor are on it, their pace could cause us issues.

It wouldnt suprise me if Ranieri sets up for a point.

We dont really need to win this game. A draw is perfectly fine.

He has never set us up for a point so why would he start now? Would be just asking for trouble

Fun stat: Palace's top scorer has five goals!

Well 4 of their players have that!

That means we drop 8 points, we're only 5 ahead. So not necessarily true.

Palace haven't won this calender year, this is a game we should be looking to win. It's a very good opportunity and the sort we need to take with much tougher tests coming up in the run in.

I reckon Palace are due a performance. No big deal if we perform better, or rather don't let our levels drop.

We are also due a performance at Selhurst. Last season's performance there was such a disappointment. The time before that, which I attended, was under Sousa. That also was not our finest 1st half!

If we both won all our remaining fixtures up until the last game, we'd have won the title as we'd still be 5 points in front going into the game at Stamford Bridge..?

Palace haven't won in 2016 and Merse and Lawro think they'll beat the best team in the country

They think we're getting nervy especially after that Newcastle performance!... They might be right but sincerely hope not!

Spurs Liverpool draw is a decent result for us, but it's not exactly a bad result for them either really. It might not be what they want, but no-one can expect to come away from Anfield with 3 points imo.

Maybe it's my nerves that's had me make these comments  lol I do respect our opponents though and think that on their day, Palace are a good attacking side. But I think we are better, which is why I don't feel we should fear them. Maybe It's a case of not quite being able to believe the position we are in and the dread that we will somehow blow it, not that I do. I think we have been amazing and would hate us not to go all the way......I can't believe that I would be disappointed in a way with 2nd, 3rd or 4th.

Maybe doom and gloom was a bit over the top. I just felt that whilst being respectful, we were worrying too much about the Rafa influence and losing sight of the fact that Newcastle have been woeful. That said, I actually thought that Newcastle played well and did a job, and I would imagine that with the improvement in the team after only 4 days of Rafa being in charge that they have a very good chance of staying up.

Pretty sure that like most of our fans, games and the waiting in between games is becoming unbearable at times...lol!... Where's my noo-noo?

Have to agree, it's the waiting between games that is so difficult, constantly working out all the possible outcome of the top four teams matches. Watching the games on TV used to be more a social chill out, but now in nearly every game shown we have a vested interest. Cant believe I am cheering on other teams. I was a Villa supporter last week, this weekend Bournemouth and so on.

Was actually nervous last ten minutes of the Norwich man city game, the week before willing Arsenal to hang on at WHL in an Irish pub in Watford. Be nice to relax at last on 16th May, or hopefully a couple of week earlier.

Anyway will be in Thornton Heath cheering on Everton Saturday, a team I actually dislike big time.

I'm not speaking mathematically kitch, but realistically

Pardew does not like us, still has a chip on his shoulder over the perceived slight from earlier in the season.

Think they will come at us and score but if Vardy can put his shooting boots back on then we should beat them.

Going for a 3-2 win to us.
