CloudFox Posted 16 March 2016 Posted 16 March 2016 Going to be sat in the away end with a mate's season ticket for this one. Fingers crossed we'll see the Newcastle performance as an added incentive to get back to our best.
Spudulike Posted 16 March 2016 Posted 16 March 2016 I don't think the Palace comments are much different to most teams fans before we play them. Watford were the same a couple of weeks ago. Sometimes you need blind optimism, and they may be right, but the form book suggests otherwise. Attitudes continue to reflect the media inspired 'little Leicester' image rather than what's in front of them. It's been the same all season but perhaps the penny will drop at some point.

Fox92 Posted 16 March 2016 Posted 16 March 2016 O what joy... People can say some games are going to be a struggle. Being top doesn't give us a right to beat any team.
bridport007 Posted 16 March 2016 Posted 16 March 2016 We will win with confidence. 1-3 Palace are crap and have picked up 2 pts out of the last 30 To all the mediocrity striving low confidence posters, Is your pessimism due to an inability to grasp the reality of our performances for a year now? You must be worrying yourselves silly as we have 8 games to go......good luck to you all We deserve to be where we are because we have played at a high level all year. The energy from this team is tremendous.....the doom and gloom some of your foresee IMO disrespects what the team has given you all year. What more can they do to get your confidence in them to take this through to the end? Absolutely!!...It's as if we are willing us to lose. I know we are not, and I get that that's what's happened in the past sometimes, but we are made of much sterner stuff these days. There was so much doom before the Newcastle game also. Everyone needs to get positive again! It wasn't long ago that the forum was full of we can beat anyone. We need to get back to that type of positive thought. Part of me feels that the team were so poor the other night because of the fear coming from the crowd. I watched Palace against Liverpool and thought they were very average. I think the team will welcome being away and expect us to win. We need to lose the fear, it is stifling the team.
4ever and ever Posted 16 March 2016 Posted 16 March 2016 First things first, can anybody recommend a pub showing Sky that lets in away fans. I normally drink elsewhere in London before the Palace game, but this time will be in the area by 1245. I don't think Spoonies show Sky. Cheers for any suggestions. I will be drinking in the railway telegraph which is right next to thornton heath station as that has BT sport to watch the arsenal match. Don't believe the spoons has BT sport
ARM1968 Posted 16 March 2016 Posted 16 March 2016 This is another one of those bell weather games. Just as with West Ham, we usually lose here. This is not a normal season. If the madness is to continue I expect us to get a result.

I've listened to the Norwich players that had a chance a number of years back and they said the exact same thing. They sensed the nervousness in the city and from the fans and it got to them. Keep the enthusiasm up and cheer the players on in the street, at the ground and on this forum as we battle through this together. The strong support will be welcomed. No matter what, I believe we can take on anyone right now and I for one will continue to feel we can help make this happen.

I think most people are positive and although I do get nervous at times, I have the utmost faith in the teams ability and expect them to get the job done. I always respect our opponents but don't fear any of them home or away, I believe the team think the same. I don't buy into the view that fear is stifling the team. I didn't meet one doom or gloom merchant before the Newcastle, everyone was expecting a tough but winnable game, which is how it panned out. The team weren't poor that night, kept their shape and a clean sheet. Clearly not as fluid as some dispays, but you have to give credit to the opposition. They had done their revision, but as other teams eventually failed the exam. Most players are in the zone anyway when on the field and not overly influenced by the crowd (or so I was so told by a couple of first teamers from the late 90's that I used to drink with)
Vicki Vixen Posted 16 March 2016 Posted 16 March 2016 This is another one of those bell weather games. Just as with West Ham, we usually lose here. This is not a normal season. If the madness is to continue I expect us to get a result. We won there in 2010 and 2012, drew in 2013. We do not usually lose at Selhurst. They have the second worst home record in the league this season, only Villa are worse at home. They also have some key players injured. We should go into the game with confidence high and get the win.
SpacedX Posted 16 March 2016 Posted 16 March 2016 You mean when we hammered them 1-1? Shit - I'd forgotten Gayle's goal. I just remember the euphoria of Grayson's goal and that it was a gutsy performance by City - yeah apologies, we went through by virtue of the away goal after a goalless draw at Filbert Street.
Foxxed Posted 16 March 2016 Posted 16 March 2016 They're having a bad run of games. We're grinding out wins when not paying upto our season's standard. And our main two play makers should be back on form this match. Again, not a walk in the park, but most definitely winnable.

But I think we are better, which is why I don't feel we should fear them. Maybe It's a case of not quite being able to believe the position we are in and the dread that we will somehow blow it, not that I do. I think we have been amazing and would hate us not to go all the way......I can't believe that I would be disappointed in a way with 2nd, 3rd or 4th. Maybe doom and gloom was a bit over the top. I just felt that whilst being respectful, we were worrying too much about the Rafa influence and losing sight of the fact that Newcastle have been woeful. That said, I actually thought that Newcastle played well and did a job, and I would imagine that with the improvement in the team after only 4 days of Rafa being in charge that they have a very good chance of staying up. Pretty sure that like most of our fans, games and the waiting in between games is becoming unbearable at times...!... Where's my noo-noo?

If we can't raise the noise eleven throughout the next 8 matched we are sad bunch. Did you see the players respond after WBA scored the other week. The noise from. All corners was amazing and it kept going which I am certain, boosted the players. Contrast that to the nervous atmosphere on Monday, even after we scored, the second half support was sh*t at times
Sionnach gorm Posted 16 March 2016 Posted 16 March 2016 Nonesense! Palace is a fair to middling team. They are not fighting relegation (not withstanding that they are close). It will be a tough game (if they show up) but the worse thing to happen will be a tie. Leicester's defense is too strong. I just don't see us losing this one. Unless we are preparing ourselves for a let down or are falling into superstitious behaviour...then...yes this will be a loss.
TJB-fox Posted 16 March 2016 Posted 16 March 2016 Dreading this one. Usually play shit at Selhurst so hoping this made season changes that. If we win this I'll start to really believe as it's such a tough game. I hate Palace mind so lads, please beat these. Going for a 2-1 defeat (Zaha, OG and Vardy)
Dan Posted 17 March 2016 Posted 17 March 2016 We've got to win here. Previous records are irrelevant, see our pitiful records at West Ham, Norwich, Newcastle, Swansea, Everton and others prior to this season and we've won at all of those. There's a reason these haven't won since before Christmas. I don't think we'll roll them over, but I think we'll win the game. 0-2, Drinkwater & Mahrez.
EnglishOxide Posted 17 March 2016 Posted 17 March 2016 I've got a feeling this will be a 1-1 draw. Palace will relish it, and we will have to wait another week to rediscover our attacking form. Hopefully I'm wrong and we score 4 or 5 goals. That type of scoreline will soon shut up the doubters of our quality and its the one type of result we've lacked all season.
Brooksy Posted 17 March 2016 Posted 17 March 2016 Palace 0-1 Leicester. Late goal from the the player of the season
SpinneyHillRanger Posted 17 March 2016 Posted 17 March 2016 palace do have a bit of habit of derailing title contenders... but i trust kante and the boys to pull this one out and hope ranieri sets pards straight with a good old fashioned dust up afterwards
Bob Weasel Fox Posted 17 March 2016 Posted 17 March 2016 Palace 0-1 Leicester. Late goal from the the player of the seasonKante? Mahrez? Vardy? Drinky?Seriously which one?
