bsaint Posted 29 March 2016 Posted 29 March 2016 Uh oh now here comes the we've been lucky and had the rub of the green all season comments doh Ffs If you read back you will see I asked the question if u have been lucky, I didn't say you had been.
foxfanazer Posted 29 March 2016 Posted 29 March 2016 I wish people would stop associating getting penalties with luck. We earn penalties with our pace and directness, defenders just can't cope.
foxfanazer Posted 29 March 2016 Posted 29 March 2016 Happy Easter guys, just thought I would stop by and get some thoughts on Sundays game.Firstly though I'd like to wish you all the best and I hope you beat that north London club to the title. It will be a tough game for both sides on Sunday I think, we are consistently inconsistent but good on our day and you lot just seem to get pulling off results and fighting on which I think has won you a lot of respect. Both sides have pretty much fully fit squads as far I am aware which can only be a good thing. Set plays will be the best way to get at you I think as we are pretty decent in the air, but a good chance you could hit us on the break which you do time and time again which huge success. One thing I've wanted to ask though, as you lot watch the foxes week in week out. Have you had a game all season where literally nothing has gone for you? Bad ref, penalties not given, weather, injury, red card, and the football gods just generally against you. You seem to have had the rub of the green in that respect from what I've seen of you. Player wise, I don't think I need to really talk about how well Vardy and co have done this season so I won't get into that. Anyway all the best for the rest of the season (excluding Sunday), hope you win it. bsaint Thanks for the well wishes. As for the game itself I think it's one of the tougher ones we have remaining. I like Southampton and Koeman, he seems genuinely class. I think you have the players to come at us but I think Koeman is too smart to let us hit you on the counter so might be a tight affair. We have been rock solid at the back recently and I'm confident Morgan and Huth will cope with Pelle. I'm actually more concerned about Shane Long. He's a clever footballer and finds space really well
Oxfordfox83 Posted 29 March 2016 Posted 29 March 2016 Just looked and you've had 9 penalties this season so far that's a staggering amount! The last few weeks saints have had some pretty major decisions not go our way it's got to the point where if you don't laugh you cry. Shane long not getting a penalty V Liverpool was up there with the worst. Fans just want consistent refs, were not asking for miracles. I think overall we've been reasonably lucky, but there have definitely been some games where we haven't had the rub of the green. Vardy gets fouled a lot; he's often clever in where he puts his body, but he doesn't dive, and I think we get fewer pens than we should (see Huth being stripped for a recent example). However, when you're winning games you forget the decisions you don't get, so I'm not sure we're absurdly lucky. However, I think we have been well reffed in defence (or our defence has got cleaner), which definitely helps. I can't recall us conceding a clearly wrong penalty, and we've only had one (dodgy imo) red, so we can't complain. Looking forward to your visit-teams know a lot more about us than they ever did, you have a good team ethic and Koeman is canny, so I think we will probably draw. However, while I think we can afford to lose, we are in fine form and I hope we nick it.
Jmw44 Posted 29 March 2016 Posted 29 March 2016 I want a 2-0, 3-1 something like that. I get so stressed out when we have a 1 goal lead going into the final 10, im so jealous of people that hate football, they don't go through the stress of clinging on against Newcastle/Watford/Palace etc. These next 7 weeks will make me ill.
sotheysay Posted 29 March 2016 Posted 29 March 2016 I'd say there were definitely a few Huth and Fuchs challenges that could have definitely been pens. Off the top of my head I remember the game at home to Palace we were a bit lucky in that sense. But Vardy is amazing at drawing penalties using his pace, both this year as well as the promotion season.

KFS Posted 29 March 2016 Posted 29 March 2016 We've had some shocking decisions go against us, Simpson second yellow and Dyer 'hand ball'.
FireFox Posted 29 March 2016 Posted 29 March 2016 We've had some shocking decisions go against us, Simpson second yellow and Dyer 'hand ball'. Simpson's 2nd was always a yellow. The first though, I'm not sure. The ref made a lot of bad decisions after HT, but the 2nd yellow wasn't one of them imo.
Bob Weasel Fox Posted 29 March 2016 Posted 29 March 2016 We've had some shocking decisions go against us, Simpson second yellow and Dyer 'hand ball'.I think we have had plenty of decisions go against us this season, they say luck evens itself out over the course of the season and I would generally agreeUp the Foxes
KFS Posted 29 March 2016 Posted 29 March 2016 Simpson's 2nd was always a yellow. The first though, I'm not sure. The ref made a lot of bad decisions after HT, but the 2nd yellow wasn't one of them imo. The only reason I named it the second yellow was because the ref completely ignored the situation in favour of levelling the game. You're right, the first was more abysmal but the ref managed the whole thing poorly. Bsaint's question is delivered with a hint of anguish, though. Not to tarnish them all with the same brush, but knowing a few at Uni allows me to come to such a conclusion This was the year they were to win the Europa league, the Prem and expand their stadium buy 20k seats... And little old Leicester have stolen the headlines
adam Posted 29 March 2016 Posted 29 March 2016 Now that international shite is finished it's back with the proper stuff. Come on you blue boys.
Carl the Llama Posted 29 March 2016 Posted 29 March 2016 Lucky little Leicester I think it's more the case that we keep playing well even if we do have a shit ref so their shiteness against us tends to get forgotten because it didn't impact the result and obviously other teams aren't going to bang on about how they lost to us despite favourable reffing. Nice trolling though.
Foxxed Posted 29 March 2016 Posted 29 March 2016 Couldn't have asked for a massively better international break. Shinji with a stunner showing his class, Mahrez with a hatrick of assists, N'golo with his debut and first goal, Vardy with his first two goals, Drinky motm on his debut and--touch wood--injury free. Obviously, still a difficult game, but a great build up at least.
fuchsntf Posted 30 March 2016 Posted 30 March 2016 Out of interest, what been our form and results, after international breaks, in the past 3yrs. A n d how many Soton players were involved, in internationals this week. Spotted Ranieri and Koeman sitting next to each other at Wembley.
foxes161 Posted 30 March 2016 Posted 30 March 2016 Looks like going to need to watch this at work, thank god for now TV
ScouseFox Posted 30 March 2016 Posted 30 March 2016 One thing I've wanted to ask though, as you lot watch the foxes week in week out. Have you had a game all season where literally nothing has gone for you? Bad ref, penalties not given, weather, injury, red card, and the football gods just generally against you. You seem to have had the rub of the green in that respect from what I've seen of you. off the top of my head; arsenal away we should've had a second penalty, been 2-0 up and had 11 men but ten minutes later we were down to 10 and hanging on all thanks to a horror show of a ref. spurs at home mahrez denied a blatant penalty, hit the post and they scored the shittest goal of all time. villa away, missed a penalty and then rudy gestede started playing basketball and nobody cared for their equaliser. bournemouth away early on, they set out to boot mahrez as much as they could and he was taken off at half time. sunderland on the opening day we annihilated them but if we weren't on our game we'd be looking at that and blaming the ref, their keeper came out to nearly the edge of the centre circle, picked the ball up and everyone just carried on. palace away last week huth was literally undressed in the area and told to get on with it. there's been times we haven't had the rub of the green but been good enough to over come it. it's why we've won some games scrappily with 1-0s and not 5-0 every week. even games like wba at home, the one away at your place etc where we've battered a team for 80 odd minutes but had to settle for a point because it just wouldn't go in. everyone gets rubbish decisions go against them, just the worse off teams have these decisions turn 0-0s into 0-1s or 2-1s into 2-2s, whereas we're having them (mostly) turn 3-0s into 1-0s so nobody complains as much. eg. "the shane long penalty vs liverpool last week" you've mentioned, first time i've even heard such an incident happened, because you won. if you'd lost 2-0 it would've been the main talking point on motd, sky sports etc all week.

Nice trolling though. Brilliant isn't it, even when we do get fans on here seemingly wanting to say well done, it still comes with a sly dig doesn't it?I hope we let these digs motivate us to finish the job Up the Foxes
lcfcliam Posted 30 March 2016 Posted 30 March 2016 Am I right in thinking a win will guarantee us European football next season? I have no idea
kingcarr21 Posted 30 March 2016 Posted 30 March 2016 Am I right in thinking a win will guarantee us European football next season? I have no idea It depends on how Liverpool get on against Spurs. If Spurs beat Liverpool they stay 22 points behind us. If we then beat Southampton then we are 25 points ahead of Liverpool and they only have 24 points to play for. We beat Southampton then they and Stoke cant catch us which would only leave Liverpool. So we will know after the Spurs vs Liverpool game whether we can guarantee European football or not (although I think Champions League is a certainty now anyway)

It would be nice to sit there and enjoy the match for a change with a two or three goal lead. However, if it's 1-0 with 15 mins to go and they're all over us I'll settle for that now.
tsintskaro Posted 30 March 2016 Posted 30 March 2016 20 out of 41 goals are with head shot.that's real problem for the team, who is not that good winning high balls. i dont think 1-0 will be winnable sunday.they should try more
bsaint Posted 30 March 2016 Posted 30 March 2016 This Take what you are saying bsaint but your comments still smacked of a back handed compliment to me I'd be one of the first to say you have been consistently the best team this season and deserve to the win the league. Back to Sundays game, I feel more confident playing you now than I would had we had to play you a month ago. Nerves surely have to start playing a role in these last 7 games for, like they would anyone but espeically players going for the title. No disrespect intended, but I wouldn't be surprised if a few silly little mistakes start creeping in. On the other hand you might be up for it and end up steam rolling every team you face on the run in.
FantasticMrFox&Son Posted 30 March 2016 Posted 30 March 2016 bsaint, you forget that the nucleus of our current team had the "nerve" not to bottle winning the Championship and got promoted. Equally they had the "nerve" to win 7 of the last games last year to guarantee survival. One thing about our foxes............ they have plenty of "nerve". I
