foxes21 Posted 10 April 2016 Posted 10 April 2016 Gray and Amartey were two of our best performers today when they came on.
David Hankey Posted 10 April 2016 Posted 10 April 2016 Another 3 points, another clean sheet, this is the stuff of Champions. Well done City!!

RowlattsFox Posted 10 April 2016 Posted 10 April 2016 Kante 9 Fuchs and vardy 8 Everyone else 7 apart from mahrez who gets a 5.
bluebeau Posted 10 April 2016 Posted 10 April 2016 What's gone wrong with Mahrez? He wasn't in the game, he contributed zero. He should be dropped for next game & give Armartey or Gray a start. Two well taken goals from Vardy back on song again! Come on Man. Utd!!!
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 10 April 2016 Posted 10 April 2016 Mahrez had possibly his worst game for us. Didn't track back and didn't release the ball quick enough. Would probably give Vardy motm I think. Then Kante
TheUltimateWinner Posted 10 April 2016 Posted 10 April 2016 Why is Albrighton being so underrated? Until Vardy had his moments of brilliance he was our best attack going forwards
tsintskaro Posted 10 April 2016 Posted 10 April 2016 After the goal Albrighton was very good.i will give To kasper 9 for that great save
Bryn Posted 10 April 2016 Posted 10 April 2016 5 for Mahrez, had a stinker really. Seemed to be playing within himself as well. 6 for Shinji. 7s for Kasper and the defence, Drinkwater and Albrighton. 8 for Vardy. 9 and MotM for the ubiquitous Kante. 8 for Ranieri who I thought had left it late to make changes but was thoroughly vindicated.
Wolfox Posted 10 April 2016 Posted 10 April 2016 After the goal Albrighton was very good.i will give To kasper 9 for that great save He was pretty decent before it too... He does that curved pass that so often gives Vardy or Okasaki to give something to run on to Huth, Kante and Vardy 8.5 Evryone else -7 Okaskaki - 6 Mahrez - 5 Great to see Gray come and look so accomplished... Nice job from Amartey too!
UPinCarolina Posted 10 April 2016 Posted 10 April 2016 MOTM for me is Kante. More than a few times he stopped runs by Sunderland single-handedly.
americanfox Posted 10 April 2016 Posted 10 April 2016 Kasper - 7 Simpson - 6 Morgan - 10 Huth - 8 Fuchs - 8 Drinkwater - 9 Albrighton - 7 Kante - 9 Mahrez - 7 Okazaki - 7 Vardy 10 Do I get a participation trophy?
dayday Posted 10 April 2016 Posted 10 April 2016 Mahrez and Okazaki have been shocking the last 2 games It amazes me we have managed to win the last 2 games carrying these players
Dickov22 Posted 10 April 2016 Posted 10 April 2016 Kasper 7 Great save in the first half Simpson 7 Steady game Morgan 8 Colossul as usual Huth 8 See above Fuchs 9 Loved the way he got Borini back after he was fouled. What a left back Albrighton 8 Fantastic again Drinkwater 9 MOTM. Everywhere and unlucky not to score a goal today Kante 8 Brilliant again Mahrez 5 Better second half but not with it today Vardy 8 Very quiet game until they started to go for it and left gaps for him to exploit. Two class goals Okasaki 5 Too lightweight . Would play Ulloa against West Ham All subs played well. We are so so so good at closing a game out
Heymister2015 Posted 10 April 2016 Posted 10 April 2016 Tbf Okazaki flew to Asia playing in severe heat and only a couple of days to get ready for Southampton and likewise with mahrez in Africa. Usually takes a couple of weeks to get back into the zone.
Captain... Posted 10 April 2016 Posted 10 April 2016 Mahrez was poor today, but he did track back and played his part, it was just his take ons where he wasn't getting any joy. A victim of his own success, teams will study him and how to stop him. He got away once and had a great run at the end if he had scored that it would have been a fantastic goal. I think the problem is we are more cautious than in earlier games, we don't attack in quite as many numbers and opposition teams defend with more players and target Mahrez and with Shinji also offering little it was very easy to handle Mahrez and his skills.
inckley fox Posted 10 April 2016 Posted 10 April 2016 I honestly thought that Mahrez had a shocking game. Short on effort and, under close attention, quality. He was entirely fixated on his own highlights reel rather than the team performance. Okazaki was also very poor, albeit without anything approaching the degree of attention that Mahrez was receiving. His touch, strength and distribution was shocking and we were twice the side once we took him off. It may well be the time for a couple of changes ahead of West Ham. That pair aside, I felt we did very well - but the two of them put immense pressure on our midfield and defence by repeatedly surrendering possession and failing to apply pressure to the opposition. In the first half you could trace virtually all of Sunderland's attacks back to one or the other. I gave Mahrez a 3 and Okazaki a 5 but I feel I'm being extremely generous because there were two outstandingly poor displays in there, and in contrast to nine other solid outings. For me the two of them have been the weak links for the past two games. Considering Ulloa, Schlupp, Gray have all put in highly respectable stints of late, they would be very lucky to remain in the side. Mahrez, especially, owes the side a couple of top drawer performances because his contribution this week, and last, was basically to give away the ball, pull out of 50-50s and fail to track back.

Did he really track back? I saw him lose his man again and again, or simply fail to commit to 50-50s. I've always defended him in the past but I think he needs dropping without further delay on that performance, and giving the bollocking of his life. Unless he's more bothered about how he looks on Youtube than whether his side wins a title. Very, very poor, and not for the first time of late. For me he needs a rest and a reality check, or he'll cost us serious points. And do you seriously think sides are specifically targeting Okazaki? Surely he's benefited from space as a consequence of increased attention on Vardy and Mahrez, but simply fallen short of the physical requirements of the game lately. He's lost all of the 50-50s, failed to stay on his feet and offered precious little in terms of goalscoring or creative threat. Ulloa wasn't especially impressive but the very fact that he offered something was central to us winning the game, after almost an hour of Okazaki flinging himself around and failing to ever put any serious pressure on the ball.
ScouseFox Posted 10 April 2016 Posted 10 April 2016 kasper 7 simpson 7 - solid, enjoyed him being our furthest forward player for a good part of the last ten minutes in their corner. morgan 7 huuuuuuth 7 - another fine hand ball (think it was him) fuchs 7 mahrez 4 drinkwater 9 - ran the show kante 9 - lost for words albrighton 7 - love his on the break runs cuts inside looks for options doesn't have any options it's opened up go on son keep running he's on the edge of the box he's gonna shooooooot... daisy cutter rolls towards the keeper. one day marc, one day. shinji 6 - their defence were bigger than him, stronger than him and quicker than him. bit of an issue. still our best attacking threat first half. vardy 8 - two goals. says it all. subs - meh. amartey should've scored. ulloa should've scored. gray looks so composed and tidy. them 4 ref 1 - he got literally nothing right from start to finish, for either side, for big calls or little calls. fast becoming the worst ref in the prem which is one hell of an accolade given the competition.
