Exactly the kind of scenario that is damaging to English youngsters. Problem is our hands our tied. We either lose him to another club who'll give it to him anyway or we just cough it up.

There is something about this kid, if he turns out to be England's next left back, £30k a week wouldn't be a bad starting investment in him.
