Has as he actually signed it yet do we know? Claudio said it was close yesterday. Was hoping they'd announce it right before today's match a la Morgan, but maybe there will be news soon.
bluebeau Posted 23 July 2016 Posted 23 July 2016 City must secure this young fella to a new contract & hopefully without the stupid release clause included. He had a very good game tonight against Celtic, played the full 90 minutes & scored in the penalty shoot-out, he looked so calm.......like a veteran. F--k Off Liverpool.
TheMightySystem Posted 24 July 2016 Posted 24 July 2016 First team at the start of the season if he carry on like this in preseason? very good player would have pushed him onto the wing second half and put Fuchs at lb though as Chilwell gets in some great attacking positions.
roblcfc84 Posted 24 July 2016 Posted 24 July 2016 Best player on the pitch yesterday for me, Mahrez had the best moments but in terms of overall performance - chillwell
NGoloMode Posted 24 July 2016 Posted 24 July 2016 If he gets the right experience this guy can be a Premier League full back no problem. His defensive side needs a bit of work but he looks so good on the ball for his age.
StanSP Posted 24 July 2016 Posted 24 July 2016 would be great if he could be another player to play for England while on our books Just hope there's no dumb release clause in the contract which means he can go for a bargain next summer.

Those two stood out (but I was also very impressed with Zieler while he was on - he looked much more reliable than Kasper). If we can keep Chilwell, it would be a big coup.

My point was he'll not play every week hence to call him "this year's answer to Dele Alli" is wrong. Alli played every week. Cant even understand the comparison. 1 is a defender, the other is an attacking midfielder. Career paths totally different. So c your right, being the answer to this years Deli Alli is way off.
fuchsntf Posted 24 July 2016 Posted 24 July 2016 If fans feel they need a positive push, this surely is it. last night confirmed we have a class act , at left back. Chilwell and Fuchs have that positioned nailed now. Also gives Claudio some flexability, if he fancies using one of them in midfield towards the end of a game. With Schlupp, Albrighton and Gray, we have the left side tied down defence and attack.

dbtcity Posted 24 July 2016 Posted 24 July 2016 Still looked a bit to light weight yesterday but nothing that can't be sorted!!! Send him round GTF house for a couple of weeks then get him on the weights
VLC86 Posted 24 July 2016 Posted 24 July 2016 Seriously think Fuchs' position in the team for the start of the season could be in doubt due to Chilwell.

If there is it'll be at the insistence of his agent, set as low as he can getting away with. It won't be the club's choice.
ealingfox Posted 24 July 2016 Posted 24 July 2016 Agree with need to keep comments, lot of evidence in his favour now and he will get far more minutes this year. If he signs how many people are calling their fantasy team Netflix & Chilwell this season? Might start off with it and change to Amartey in the USA if too many people have it.
Fox92 Posted 24 July 2016 Posted 24 July 2016 Solid game yesterday, was really impressed. We've wanted a good left full back for years and now we've got two.
st albans fox Posted 24 July 2016 Posted 24 July 2016 Lpool tweeters saying that negotiations have stalled on his contract.
Dan Posted 24 July 2016 Posted 24 July 2016 I'm not bitter towards Chilwell, I just think it's potentially damaging to people his age to give him a wage like that before he's even done anything. If I'm Leicester though, I'd pay it, because if we don't, someone else does and Chilwell ends up with that money anyway and we end up without him. Chilwell held the cards. That's just how it is. I don't agree with it but there's not a lot you can do.

NewquayFox Posted 25 July 2016 Posted 25 July 2016 I think Chilwell will start the season at left back with Fuchs being used in Champions League games, also think Hernandez will do the same (longer throw than Fuchs) coming in for Huth.... Up the City....

Grewks Posted 25 July 2016 Posted 25 July 2016 Don't agree with those who say he looked lightweight when defending. Thought he was class going forward and backwards. He never got 'caught out', an attacking full back is always going to get exploited when going forward if we lose the ball, it is the job of the others to plug the gap. As others have said, impressed with Hernandez and Zieler. Both good on the ball, and both have done their jobs in the minutes played thus far. Look bargains for the outlay.
