Ric Flair Posted 13 May 2016 Posted 13 May 2016 Not ANOTHER winger, please ! We've got Albrighton, Mahrez, Gray and Schlupp, all vying for the 2 wide slots - plus Dodoo as back up. Musa would be big money as well. I can only see it worth signing him, if Riyad is on his way ? Musa plays across the forward line and do not be surprised to see Schlupp or Albrighton considered to be replaced this season. We've got a lot more games as well to play and we're going to bring in at least 1-2 wingers, 1-2 strikers, 1-2 midfielders, 2-3 defenders and a goalie. If we were only getting one winger though I'd rather it be Sisto or Ziyech who would cost less and are machines.
Merging Cultures Posted 13 May 2016 Posted 13 May 2016 Imagine the (fake) shirt sales in Nigeria if we did sign him! Edit: I am not criticising, seeing I just got some for my Zambian friends!
Heymister2015 Posted 13 May 2016 Posted 13 May 2016 we can't roll up at the nou camp with Marc albrighton! We do need another winger. Perhaps Musa or perhaps not! Seem to recall him being outstanding at the world cup
psychonaut Posted 13 May 2016 Posted 13 May 2016 we can't roll up at the nou camp with Marc albrighton! We do need another winger. Perhaps Musa or perhaps not! Seem to recall him being outstanding at the world cup Why do you find it funny? Marc Albrighton has been part of the team that just won us the Premier League. These players will go down in history. More respect needed!
Thracian Posted 13 May 2016 Posted 13 May 2016 we can't roll up at the nou camp with Marc albrighton! We do need another winger. Perhaps Musa or perhaps not! Seem to recall him being outstanding at the world cup I've been critical of Albrighton at times but have not noticed him being intimidated to the point of ineffectiveness every time he comes up against quality opposition. In fact Leicester did rather well against almost all the top teams all season with a full side - and Albrighton usually either started or played a part from memory. He's no Cristiano Ronaldo but he works hard, makes solid decisions most of the time and gets balls into the box whatever. I've not noticed Villa improving much without him. As already mentioned - a bit of respect wouldn't go amiss because, overall, i'd rate his contribution towards our winning the Premiership as around 6.5 to 7 over the season and that includes games against the standard of opposition we might be playing in the Champions League. Not outstanding but perfectly respectable - and reliable!.
Guest CityFan 06 Posted 13 May 2016 Posted 13 May 2016 Anyone know his out and out position? Which position does he play the most? I read that he can play forward/wing but unsure of his regular position...
foxes21 Posted 13 May 2016 Posted 13 May 2016 we can't roll up at the nou camp with Marc albrighton! We do need another winger. Perhaps Musa or perhaps not! Seem to recall him being outstanding at the world cupWe won't find another winger with more commitment, desire & effort. The lad gives us 110% every game and ALWAYS, yes ALWAYS, creates 2/3 great chances each game. I'd have total faith in him in the champions league, and so should you.He is one of our most reliable & consistent players!!!
oldbluefox Posted 13 May 2016 Posted 13 May 2016 Anyone notice our run of good form from last season coincided with the introduction of Albrighton and Huth? Albrighton is not flashy but is totally committed, crosses a good ball and contributes with the occasional goal. I would not be unhappy to see him playing at the Nou Camp or anywhere else for that matter. I bet Villa wish they had kept him.....................
KFS Posted 13 May 2016 Posted 13 May 2016 Yeah lay off Marc, he'll go down as a hero as much as the rest of them. Gives everything for the club and it's that contribution that has helped shore up that left flank alongside Fuchs.
foxes21 Posted 13 May 2016 Posted 13 May 2016 Think Musa will be back up for Vardys position, and also play in the hole. Don't think we are signing him to play as a winger IMO, but will be able to slot in at LW if need be. Vardy, Slimani, Musa, Okazaki, Ulloa would give us great options for those front 2 positions!

I'd feel very assured with the frontline being that. Perhaps Lucas Perez too as there is a strong rumour with him, but if not this would still be excellent.

mozartfox Posted 14 May 2016 Posted 14 May 2016 How can a deal be 75% done?! I was thinking the same. Surely it is not done until everything is agreed. Close to be done - OK . Nonsense comment probably designed to bring in any other Club waiting in the wings (Villa/Bayer04/Burnley)
Vlad the Fox Posted 14 May 2016 Posted 14 May 2016 How can a deal be 75% done?! The contracts 4 pages long, he's ticked the boxes on 3.
ST20 Posted 14 May 2016 Posted 14 May 2016 Anderson Perry is going to need to drink a lot of vodka and eat a lot of borsch soup for this.
Mezeker Posted 17 May 2016 Posted 17 May 2016 the biggest thing to Albrington's game is that he is basically a wing back, his positioning, tracking back and tackling are amazing.
HighPeakFox Posted 17 May 2016 Posted 17 May 2016 Anyone who dismisses Albrighton is clearly watching through the mindless haze of 'Scapegoat Spectacles'.
dylanlegend Posted 18 May 2016 Posted 18 May 2016 the biggest thing to Albrington's game is that he is basically a wing back, his positioning, tracking back and tackling are amazing. Albrighton is quality, one of our most direct players, anyone who should have been in the England squad
thybluefox Posted 18 May 2016 Posted 18 May 2016 Anderson Perry is going to need to drink a lot of vodka and eat a lot of borsch soup for this. When do we get the steering wheel out?
ARM1968 Posted 18 May 2016 Posted 18 May 2016 Albrighton has been and is quality. Works hard and is deceptively quick. Creates chances and scores a few too. However it is no bad thing having alternatives. Next season will be much more of a challenge. We Musa be ready for it.

I'd be really surprised if we sign someone for 23.6 million and use him as a back up player...
MPH Posted 19 May 2016 Posted 19 May 2016 How can a deal be 75% done?! I would imagine the fee and personal terms are agreed but HOW the fee is paid is still being discussed... they might want it all up front, we might want to pay in installments...
GaelicFox Posted 20 May 2016 Posted 20 May 2016 I would imagine the fee and personal terms are agreed but HOW the fee is paid is still being discussed... they might want it all up front, we might want to pay in installments... It's likely to involve untangling this guy from a web of agents and middle men , it's the Wild West of football Eastern Europe

Seem to recall him being outstanding at the world cup If Marc plays at the Nou Camp, that means we're in the last 16 of the CL! ...Unless he goes to some third rate team like Spurs Mad times
