ousefox Posted 5 June 2016 Posted 5 June 2016 Oh I see, so he will be the first to be contacted about it all. Suarez... Suarez was different wasn't it. Did Liverpool ignore the release clause or something? I don't know how that changes my point either. Arsenal had obviously been tipped off about his release clause by Suarez's team. You don't offer s pound more by accident.
foxes_rule1978 Posted 5 June 2016 Posted 5 June 2016 Who mentioned being the first? If a big transfer was coming to your club wouldn't you be curious to find out more? He could have spoken to the club or maybe one of the Arsenal players with England. I get you, but it is speculation ... who knows what he heard, Kante is within their ranks too, I'm trying to hold out hope it isn't true
stefl14 Posted 5 June 2016 Posted 5 June 2016 Bookies don't deal in truths, they deal in risk, there is probably a lot of money on Vardy moving after all this speculation and if he does they will get rinsed, that is why they have stopped betting to limit their risk if he does move. Seeing as Arsenal has triggered his release clause, that is common knowledge, people have been lumping on Vardy to move because they don't see why he wouldn't. "Money talks, Arsenal are a bigger club and there is no loyalty left in football... etc" We will see, but until it is official and there is a chance albeit small of him playing for us next season, I will not turn on him. Yes, but as I said, they don't usually get it wrong. It was 1/10 before, which suggests 10/11 chance of him leaving (a little lower to account for bookmaker profit) so all in all we're probably looking at about 80%. But now the bets have been suspended, I suspect him leaving is almost certain.
Benguin Posted 5 June 2016 Posted 5 June 2016 Is it not a little strange that Arsenal know he has a release clause and manage to trigger it straight away. I don't think we need conclusive evidence to make a strong inference that this hasnt come about without Vardy having something to do with it. You'd have to have to be an ostrich with your head in the sand to think otherwise. Until Vardy joins Arsenal or there is actual evidence that he's been a hoe bag, he remains a Leicester player and has my support. Jamie will have an agent who might well have touted him about, papers need to be sold, Twitter journalists need to feel that they are in the know, it's all speculation atm and stating that he's a twatt even if he stays is a bit harsh, for all we know he's with his wife and kid relaxing before euros with no intention of moving. If he does go however then I will gladly call him a twatt.
Mezeker Posted 5 June 2016 Posted 5 June 2016 I'll respect him more if he admits hes moved for money rather than if he comes out he's gone there to win silverware i will die of laugher if he says silverware.

Arsenal had obviously been tipped off about his release clause by Suarez's team. You don't offer s pound more by accident. Exactly so it doesn't need to be Vardy or his agent to have mentioned it to them... they could have been tipped off in other ways, it isn't 100% that he is leaving because they have met the release clause

jazz Posted 5 June 2016 Posted 5 June 2016 Breathe man!Ha!! I feel like I've just caught the missus with the Harlem globetrotters....!!!
stefl14 Posted 5 June 2016 Posted 5 June 2016 Wasn't Preki 1/10? I don't know. As I said, they can get it wrong, but they don't very often given those odds. Besides, this seems much more plausible than Preki to me.
Chester Dontlie Posted 5 June 2016 Posted 5 June 2016 These transfer rumors are more unnerving than watching the games for me. I know 95% of this news are pure bollocks but they will chat this kind of shit on twitter and in the papers every day until the window ends. Guys, does Arsenal really has better chances to win trophies than Leicester? Yes they are so-called big club, they can offer better wages and have bigger transfer budget but the glory days of Invincibles are long gone. No more Henry, Vieira, Bergkamp etc in that team. It's Bottlers of London now, with Walcott, Giroud and Wilshere. In football you're only as good your recent form shows. As some on here said, Man City or even Chelsea are more likely to win anything than Wenger's boys. Look at Forest, now that's a big club, they've won two European cups back to back! Everyone loves a bit of ancient history now and then, but that was then and this is now. Based on recent form as well as FT benny's analysis of the Premier Legue table I'd say the future looks quite bright for Leicester. Champions League, men! Dilly ding, dilly dong! PS Vards pls stay
st albans fox Posted 5 June 2016 Posted 5 June 2016 Could be a bluff, and it will work because I'm sure we are trying our best to keep him ... Point being it may well have started as a bluff but it could finish with him at the Emirates !
Footnote75 Posted 5 June 2016 Posted 5 June 2016 I don't know. As I said, they can get it wrong, but they don't very often given those odds. Besides, this seems much more plausible than Preki to me. I was about to ask whether betting had been suspended on Preki at some point...
GaelicFox Posted 5 June 2016 Posted 5 June 2016 i will die of laugher if he says silverware. Jamie why leave Leicester ? " I have come here to finish in a champions league spot and go out in last 16 , and I have to admit the gaffer here at Arsenal loves fine French wines and cheeses and I'm going that direction myself in life"
katieakita Posted 5 June 2016 Posted 5 June 2016 He will go or he will stay, the club if they want him to stay will do everything they are prepared to do to keep him. The owners have shown time and time again they know what they are about and when they have made mistakes SGE like they learned and put it right at their own expense. The club wil be doing all it can to push on and bring in better players for next season and the CL. The club keeps getting it right but we cannot force players to stay here and if they want to go they need to be gone at a deal that is right for the club.
Nalis Posted 5 June 2016 Posted 5 June 2016 In a strange sort of way part of me wants this to be completed today so we can concentrate on getting a replacement as soon as possible.
WengersWingMan Posted 5 June 2016 Posted 5 June 2016 If he stiffs his parents after years of dedication and taking him around the country for football matches then he ain't exactly gonna show loyalty to LCFC http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/features/6758095/Serial-WAG-at-heart-of-rift-tearing-Jamie-Vardys-family-apart.html Sounds like they expected a pay out. While it'd be nice if he did I wouldn't expect my children to give me money because I 'put 22 years of my life into them'. You do that because you're a parent, it's what you're meant to do.
Mark_w Posted 5 June 2016 Posted 5 June 2016 I just feel for that journalist who's going to have the xenophobe playing for his beloved Arsespurs.
v6rat Posted 5 June 2016 Posted 5 June 2016 If he goes to Arsenal he can forget about "havin a party" once Wegner gets to grips with him.
Stan Posted 5 June 2016 Posted 5 June 2016 I just feel for that journalist who's going to have the xenophobe playing for his beloved Arsespurs. Massive racist.
wardyfox86 Posted 5 June 2016 Posted 5 June 2016 In a strange sort of way part of me wants this to be completed today so we can concentrate on getting a replacement as soon as possible. I agree. A small part of me is excited about who we will bring in. Players will now see an opening for a 1st choice striker at a Champions League club, and may be more swayed. This transfer has such bitter taste to it, I'm not sure I can avoid hating him if he was to leave, as much as he has done. He has jumped ship halfway through our journey, and abandoned his "band of brothers"
Benguin Posted 5 June 2016 Posted 5 June 2016 Sounds like they expected a pay out. While it'd be nice if he did I wouldn't expect my children to give me money because I 'put 22 years of my life into them'. You do that because you're a parent, it's what you're meant to do. If I had millions of pounds my parents would never have to worry about money again.
foxile5 Posted 5 June 2016 Posted 5 June 2016 At 110% jimmies rustled and AT least 95% rabble roused. This is going to live long in the memory.
katieakita Posted 5 June 2016 Posted 5 June 2016 Of course the other thing is if Jamie leaves he could be doing us a favour. His form before his operation was better than after it. Maybe the operation was not a long term repair but just a temporary patch up, perhaps our backroom staff think he will not maintain his fitness and speed for another 4 years and we certainly have a better record of looking after our players well being than Arsenal. Jamie also needs an operation that will affect next pre season and has had confidence issues in the past, spending time with Roy Hodgson will hardly boost confidence. His form last season though has got him the chance to play for one of the big clubs at 29 this may be his one chance of that. We pay him plenty and think we pay enough but I do not believe any of us on here have agents who for their own financial gain have every incentive to bring in as much cash as possible for their clients and more importantly themselves.
