Must have been agreed during Jan and no doubt there were offers on the table at that time which is why it was done then. yes we could have said no, you're not going but how many clubs our size do that and get away with it. The spirit in the dressing room was too important to risk. the buyout clause size was clearly vardy's price for staying and helping us win the title. Remember that we couldn't get another striker in approaching deadline day. Maybe we were looking for a vardy replacement, not a supplement and when he agreed to stay on a new deal, we lost interest in remy etc. All supposition but feasible. we should stop pretending that we know what went on and is going on. Stop slagging people off for doing their jobs to the best of their ability and doing the best for our club.

There will be another striker signing before the close of the window too. He gives us something different, let Ozil and Xhaka spray balls in to him when teams are playing 10 behind the ball. He gives us something different to what we have in that respect.

Ozil had a good start to the season, but then petered out. He was surplus to requirements at Real.

Perhaps you need to spend more time actually watching Jamie Vardy play than going onto other teams forums. Jamie always stands out for us when the opposition put 10 behind the ball and park the bus on the edge of the box, sure Wilshire sorry he is off to Man City, someone else will be able to put one over the top for him or down the channels.

He also cost £42m, so one would expect him to provide the odd assist here or there. He is having contract talks with you after the Euros - you may lose him.
