Well, I wonder where I got the idea he had - and where all the others who've alluded to this got it from? Or is it something I've merely imagined?

Then, if I've got it wrong, I would apologise for my misassumption and everything I've written because of that.

100%lcfc and loads of others have been chucking false quotes. There have been plenty of positive noises from him of course, but as I've said not entirely as committal as those fake ones.

Massive draw of living in London on that salary playing for a famous club. What a great lifestyle, I would be massively tempted even with an equal counter offer from us. Whatever he decides he will be a legend in my eyes.

 

I'm happy to have lived through and witnessed the best year there's ever going to be for our club. IMO we shouldn't be offering these sorts of big wages, it will end up bringing in more egos as we try to maintain what we had with this team. 

 

It will end in disaster.

 

Let them all go if that's what they want and I hope they enjoy it. Lets keep our squad philosophy as its far more important than any player will be at keeping us competitive.

 

 

If they leave, roll on the challenge of trying to build another team with such a good spirit to win the Prem again, even if we never quite manage it.

But he could well have told his teammates that he is "so close" with and they have mentioned it to others!

Hopefully the owners/Ranieri (who probably wishes he didn't sign up to Soccer Aid last night now) have given him info on what they are planning over the summer. If he can see that we're going for it and that some of the players we're bringing in are going to improve the squad that is tailor made for him then he'll think about sticking around, obviously giving him a few extra quid in the process too. There's his finances/future to think about of course but there's a legacy and leaving the team you had the greatest season of your life with wouldn't sit right for me and would tarnish some of the great things he achieved with us. Why he another mercenary like all typical footballers? Be different, cement yourself here! If he leaves us he'll regret it in 30 years when there's reunions with all the guys (because there will be) and he looks back on the group that defied the odds and wrote the greatest story ever told. Do the right thing Jamie, stick with us, what's the worst that could happen?

Maybe he heard we were bringing in 2 strikers and he knew he'd be fighting for a bench spot with Leo and Shinji.
