Spudulike Posted 19 May 2016 Posted 19 May 2016 Up to 18th. I thought that LCFC would be higher.... http://www.myfootballfacts.com/All-TimePremierLeagueTable1992-93to2010-11.html
Trav Le Bleu Posted 19 May 2016 Posted 19 May 2016 Up to 18th. I thought that LCFC would be higher.... http://www.myfootballfacts.com/All-TimePremierLeagueTable1992-93to2010-11.html Not surprised at all. I thought maybe we'd be a bit lower. Historically we are a yo-yo team that is generally fighting relegation or pushing for promotion, but we've had far more seasons where we've been mid-table tier 2 than mid-table tier 1.
Matt Posted 19 May 2016 Posted 19 May 2016 Was wondering where we were after this season. I get where Trav Le Bleu is coming from but considering we were in the top 20 before this season (I thought we were anyway) i'm quite surprised we are still that low, to have only moved up 2 places is abit disappointing really! Thought we'd be up to say 14-15th atleast.
Fox92 Posted 19 May 2016 Posted 19 May 2016 It's only the Premier League. We've only spent how many seasons in the division, 9? Even clubs like Southampton have spent a good 15/16 seasons in the Premier League.

Guest kristianity77 Posted 19 May 2016 Posted 19 May 2016 Judging by that table as well we won't be going any higher than 18th for at least two seasons, the next team up is 111 points away!
StanSP Posted 19 May 2016 Posted 19 May 2016 Just another 111 points to gain on Bolton across 2 seasons (or one?!) and we're out of the relegation zone... We're guaranteed to not go lower than 18th for a while though.
Izzy Posted 19 May 2016 Posted 19 May 2016 Interesting read that - thanks for posting. And it will take a few more seasons yet until we overtake the likes Bolton, Fulham, Leeds and Blackburn. Hopefully we can establish ourselves in the PL for the next generation. All that yo-yoing got a bit tiresome to be honest...

Sionnach gorm Posted 3 June 2016 Posted 3 June 2016 Actually shocked that Sunderland has done so well throughout its history.
ThaiFox Posted 3 June 2016 Posted 3 June 2016 How about we start the statistics from the 2015-2016 season? It's much more interesting and exciting!
ThaiFox Posted 3 June 2016 Posted 3 June 2016 Here's the All-Time Top Flight Table from 1888-89 to 2015-16 Leicester Fosse / City are in 25th place... Glossop North End......Wern't they managed by some bloke called Woy Hodgson?
Fox92 Posted 3 June 2016 Posted 3 June 2016 Actually shocked that Sunderland has done so well throughout its history. Decent history. Won about 5 top flight titles and a couple FA Cups including the famous victory '73 victory.
BrummieFOX Posted 3 June 2016 Posted 3 June 2016 United's Premier League goal difference is phenomenal (+984), especially when you consider we've only just turned our GD positive for the first time in decades.
DB11 Posted 3 June 2016 Posted 3 June 2016 The average points per game is more useful as that means that playing more games doesn't = more points ie. the first overall one
boots60 Posted 3 June 2016 Posted 3 June 2016 How about the games played before Andy Gray & Richard Keys invented football in 1992?
Jordan Posted 3 June 2016 Posted 3 June 2016 Up to 18th. I thought that LCFC would be higher.... http://www.myfootballfacts.com/All-TimePremierLeagueTable1992-93to2010-11.html We're coming for youWe're coming for you Bolton Wanderers We're coming for you
Kitchandro Posted 3 June 2016 Posted 3 June 2016 Decent history. Won about 5 top flight titles and a couple FA Cups including the famous victory '73 victory. They won a lot in the early years, I remember that Sunderland fan on here who reckoned they'd never had good manager in his life Which sounds about right tbf.
Koke Posted 3 June 2016 Posted 3 June 2016 Derby - 2 league titles + 1 FA Cup Leicester - 1 League title + 3 League Cups I'm bored of Derby fans saying they're a bigger club than us when they are not a bigger club than us.
Captain... Posted 3 June 2016 Posted 3 June 2016 Derby - 2 league titles + 1 FA Cup Leicester - 1 League title + 3 League Cups I'm bored of Derby fans saying they're a bigger club than us when they are not a bigger club than us. Purely in terms of silverware they win 2 League titles + 1 FA Cup > 1 League title + 3 League Cups
Footballwipe Posted 3 June 2016 Posted 3 June 2016 Only four teams in PL history have won more games away than lost. I know that shouldn't be a surprise but I was when I realised it.
