Leicester and Sunderland have joined the chase for Walsall starlet Rico Henry.

The Premier League duo are eyeing 18 year-old left-back, along with Championship pair Brighton and Hull.

Manchester City, Arsenal, Tottenham and Liverpool have all had Henry watched during the season.

Henry, called up to the latest England under-19 squad this week, was likened to former Arsenal, Chelsea and England star Ashley Cole by his former Walsall boss Dean Smith.

And he underlined his potential by making the League One team of the year and being nominated for the young player of the year award.

He is tied to Walsall until 2018 after signing a new deal during the season.

The Express & Star says the Foxes are the latest to be linked to Walsall's teenage left-back Henry, whose list of suitors appears to be growing by the day.

The reigning champions are keen to strengthen their squad for next season and have scouted £1.5m-rated Henry, as have fellow big guns Liverpool and Arsenal.

West Ham appear to be in front of Championship outfit Leeds for the 19-year-old, having loaned Walsall midfielder George Dobson to build up a good relationship with the Saddlers.

No chance of upsurping Cresswell at West Ham. Better to come to us.

As he has a better chance of upsurping Fuchs?

Fuchs is in his thirties, Creswell is a future England regular in his early twenties.

Same could be argued for Chilwell being in front of him as well.

Sell Chilwell for £8m, sign this guy for 1.5m, suddenly half of the Mendy fee is covered and we have a talented youngster who is delighted to be at the club.

Spoke to my Walsall supporting friend about this guy he said Henry is quick but is very raw and not good enough yet for the premier league. He needs more time to get stronger and be better positionaly.

At £1.5mil he certainly seems very worth the small financial gamble but probably for the development squad and maybe a loan out/few cup appearances at this stage as he's still very young.
