smr Posted 31 May 2016 Posted 31 May 2016 Wilshere and Henderson over Drinkwater? Hahahahahhahahahahahhahahahahhahahahahahaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahahahahaha. Good old England, laughing stock of the International Football world. Guaranteed HYPE before every tournament, then utter failure with abysmal performances finishing off with an outcry from the media "where did it all go wrong?" zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz Same old FA backing players from big clubs who haven't been on form all season and injured 99 percent of it. Ridiculous. We'll get battered anyway, our defense is a laughing stock and now we've got glass boy playing in the centre of the park.
ScouseFox Posted 31 May 2016 Posted 31 May 2016 IIrc most on here said he'd had a crap game on Friday. If we don't win the Euros it won't be because Woy didn't pick Drinkwater. I'll still support England no matter what. yes, so will i. can't not. do you really think the fact he had an average game on friday is the reason he isn't going? barkley played for about 20 minutes across both warm up games and probably didn't complete a pass. sturridge was injured for them both! let's not pretend they did enough to prove their worth in these friendlies either. the fact drinkwater played nearly every game and was fantastic from august to may for the champions of england should surely count more than one 5/10 performance in a friendly where nobody really impressed. but it didn't, because the media didn't want it to.
Guest MattP Posted 31 May 2016 Posted 31 May 2016 England manager selects tried and tested failures over proven winner shocker. A farce but one I totally expected, if he could get away with dropping Vardy he would.
Koke Posted 31 May 2016 Posted 31 May 2016 can't decide what's worse, the fact hodgson hasn't taken him or the general "meh" from fans and media around the country about the lack of drinkwater's inclusion. he should be starting, let alone just going. incredible levels of bullshit. I said this after the Australia game but was slated for it. Drinkwater is simply not rated by a lot of football fans. They see him as a slightly better version of Mark Noble and nobody here rates Noble as an England player. And yes I know he won the league but so has Danny Simpson. Shame he missed out because he's useful. He's the only direct replacement for Dier. That said, our fans over rate Drinkwater. All football fans over rate their players so it's only natural.
Heymister2015 Posted 31 May 2016 Posted 31 May 2016 Any point Vardy going? Play him on the right or left or cameo off the bench! Pointless being England's best all round forward ie workrate, speed, finishing and assists. Not passionate in the slightest about England. Rather see Wales go further. At least they have a world class player
m4DD0gg Posted 31 May 2016 Posted 31 May 2016 jack one game wheelchair gets in over someone who has taken his team to premier league champions. Your funeral woy. Poor Danny, guess the good thing for him and us is he gets a good rest although i suspect at moment he is gutted.
rmahrez Posted 31 May 2016 Posted 31 May 2016 Feel so sorry for the guy. Hope someone gets injured and he gets his much deserved chance.
Guest FriendlyRam Posted 31 May 2016 Posted 31 May 2016 Its an anti east midlands thing I think. Brian Clough should have been England manager but they go with a yes man. Now the best team in England (said through gritted teeth slightly ) has one player going to the Euros, and he'll either be on the bench or out of position. Where's Simpson, Albrighton, Drinkwater and Morgan?? nowhere because that would mean dropping big names that sell shirts. it seems England care more about money than winning things. **** em lads.
goose2010 Posted 31 May 2016 Posted 31 May 2016 Why don't England copy the style of the team that's just won the league? Not just because its Leicester, because it works. Play 4-4-2 counter attacking with a defence that actually defends. I would love it he is tried something like this. Hart Simpson (best defensive English Right back around) Cahill Smalling Clyne (tell him to defend) Albrighton Drinkwater Noble Antonio Vardy Kane (or Rooney he will drop off more allowing space for Vardy)
TeamRocket Posted 31 May 2016 Posted 31 May 2016 I really hope we dont win. That D*** dont deserve this England team and players at all but like Weller54 come on Wales Ps can drinky play for other team? Ie Wales Ireland or even France
inckley fox Posted 31 May 2016 Posted 31 May 2016 Odd one for me. If Vardy is one of our key players, as he should be, then a midfielder with an excellent understanding with the guy could be critical. To see Hodgson come to the conclusions he's come to on the basis of one specific friendly (Drinkwater was man of the match in the other full game he played) against players far weaker than the ones Drinkwater has excelled against all season (and Lallana / Barkley / Henderson / Wilshere haven't) is odd in the extreme. It's not bad for us, though. He'll come back fully refreshed and with a point to prove. To win the title with four English players in the side week-in-week-out (plus another who was overlooked by England at an earlier stage in his career), and for England to only pick one of them ahead of countless under-performing big names, tells you why it is that other nations repeatedly steal a march on England. And there are so many question marks here it's untrue. Has Rashford really made the squad on the basis of a quarter of a season plus a good game against players who, for the most part, wouldn't make a PL side? Does taking five strikers indicate we'll be going for two up front, because if we do we haven't played that way too often, and if we don't there seems little point in taking five strikers? Has he focused more on the close understanding between Liverpool players (e.g. Lallana, Henderson, Sturridge) rather than Leicester players who have been far more effective against higher standard opponents? I've said so many times about England that you could feed the Opta stats into a computer and come up with a more effective system and team than Hodgson seems capable of. I genuinely don't understand the decision-making process.

smr Posted 31 May 2016 Posted 31 May 2016 even spurs fans on DD's twitter saying Woy's lost the ****ing plot.
Dodgy Bob Posted 31 May 2016 Posted 31 May 2016 Sides like Spain are what we should be aspiring towards. They have picked players like Bruno (Villareal), San Jose and Aduriz (Bilbao), Nolito (Celta Vigo) over guys like Costa and Mata. Why? Because they've performed better in the past 12 months. I actually hope England fail. Maybe that way we'll finally start to evolve into a national team that fulfils its huge potential. We (Hodgson) failed at euro 2012. World Cup 2014 was an abomination. Even when we fail again here, nothing will change. The England national team is gone, it's lost, we won't be getting it back any time soon.
AyewJoking Posted 31 May 2016 Posted 31 May 2016 wilshere or henderson are bound to get inured before the tournament and danny is back in. hodgson has his favourites and danny didnt set the world alight when he had the chance, bet he'll be gutted right now but bigger picture is he's been the best english midfielder this season and has a premier league winners medal and champions league football next season. can still have a lads holiday with vards and kingy when the boys are home early
DJ Barry Hammond Posted 31 May 2016 Posted 31 May 2016 Feel so sorry for the guy. Hope someone gets injured and he gets his much deserved chance. Funny you say that - I wouldn't be suprised if someone pulled up with an injury on Thursday, which would force Wroy to call up... Andros Townsend. The stupidity of it all is obvious to see to most intelligent fans when you set out your 11 and then look at ways you might want to change formation or approach later in the game - the squad selected makes it very difficult to do that. There's not a good enough a lance to it.
weller54 Posted 31 May 2016 Posted 31 May 2016 Even bigger shock for Harry Redknapp... NO WES MORGAN IN THE ENGLAND SQUAD!
Guest FriendlyRam Posted 31 May 2016 Posted 31 May 2016 Sorry mate just checked and realised but its still 4 players you should have going imo
smr Posted 31 May 2016 Posted 31 May 2016 Well to get in the next tournament Danny Drinkwater knows what he'll have to do now at Leicester now.... The road to the England Squad................... A) Sit out 90 percent of the season with injuries B) Never complete a 90 minute game
VLC86 Posted 31 May 2016 Posted 31 May 2016 Scenes when we watch Sky Sports News tomorrow and BREAKING: Wilshere and Henderson snapped in half in freak training ground accident involving Jamie Vardy......Roy has now called up Jack Grealish and Callum Chambers.
Biggus Posted 31 May 2016 Posted 31 May 2016 Here we go - 52 years of hurt. He's taken all the risky options - it had better pay off.
TJB-fox Posted 31 May 2016 Posted 31 May 2016 What a total farce I'm genuinely fuming on behalf of Danny. Supported Roy for a while now but this is the final straw I want him gone- I'd be quite happy to see us lose all 3 games for this to happen. Complete overhaul needed at the FA it's a total shambles to see players like Lallana Barkley Wilshere Henderson in. And Rashford. Can't even put into words how I feel about him getting in. **** England I'm supporting Austria now for Fuchs
