ramboacdc Posted 16 June 2016 Posted 16 June 2016 if this is true about the Britain First connection, i hope it makes some of them realise you cant tar all members of 1 group with the same brush.
Guest MattP Posted 16 June 2016 Posted 16 June 2016 Killed for doing your job, what a terrible tragedy.
Bellend Sebastian Posted 16 June 2016 Posted 16 June 2016 I'd never heard of her until an hour ago and then hearing she's died has really, really shocked me. So much shit stuff has happened recently I thought I was becoming immune to it
Guest seanfox778 Posted 16 June 2016 Posted 16 June 2016 How awful for her poor children. I can't understand how nut jobs can contemplate acts like this.
johnny the fox Posted 16 June 2016 Posted 16 June 2016 RIP.. MP Joe Cox.. tragic pointless waste of a very young promising life...
Merging Cultures Posted 16 June 2016 Posted 16 June 2016 Terrorism attempts to strike fear into a population, to disrupt their day to day activities. They want us to be terrified. Someone attacking random people where they work, travel, live or relax, is terrorism. It can happen to any of us. It creates fear, and stops us from doing our day to day activities as we normally would. A politically motivated attack directed at a politician isn't going to affect how the normal person goes about their day to day activities. This wasn't a lone wolf acting independently of a larger philosophy that wants to eradicate our way of life. This was a psychopathic individual, and no one will fill his shoes and continue the cause. There is no reason to be worried about follow on attacks from Britain First supporters. Edit: All this based on what is written on here and in the newspapers online. Something else might come out in the investigation obviously. Second edit: I'm saying this is not terrorism. It isn't a part of a bigger philosophy to use fear to intimidate the government to change policy. Just some deranged person acting irrationally. I noted Bilo +1 me and then used the term terrorism to describe the act.
Guest Posted 16 June 2016 Posted 16 June 2016 What kind of cvnt does a thing like this? Someone with mental problems I'd imagine.
MC Prussian Posted 16 June 2016 Posted 16 June 2016 Six days shy of her birthday... What a sad mirror of our society this act of violence is. R.I.P. and condolences to the family. As it's been said before, you hear and read so much about gun crimes, terrorism and domestic violence lately, it makes it harder not getting down over it.
Alf Bentley Posted 16 June 2016 Posted 16 June 2016 I'd never heard of her until an hour ago and then hearing she's died has really, really shocked me. So much shit stuff has happened recently I thought I was becoming immune to it Same here, BS. Thinking about her poor kids and husband most of all. How the hell do you deal with something like that? I know people sometimes suffer sudden death at a young age, but the random horror of this is just shocking. I'm assuming that the bloke is a lone obsessive with a screw loose. Sounds like that from what's in the public domain so far. Britain First are a bunch of cvnts, but I can't imagine that it's anything organised by a group. He can't have been in that much of a psychotic state, though, if he was able to find out when and where her surgery was, and turn up tooled up like that. If nothing else, I hope that it reminds campaigners of all political persuasions not to ramp up the provocative or hateful rhetoric. Some disturbed individuals will go out and do something like this anyway, but a bit of hate speech might just make the difference to a few others. Truly shocking.
foxy boxing Posted 16 June 2016 Posted 16 June 2016 Unfortunately it is the world we live in,do we live with these monsters or do we try to eradicate them?
Fox92 Posted 16 June 2016 Posted 16 June 2016 Absolutely horrific and very sad. Like I know we've seen a lot of deaths in politics throughout history but they are usually high-profile... This is a local MP. What the fvck. And what has the scum achieved by killing an ordinary woman, a mother of two, who was just campaigning for what she believed in.
Fox92 Posted 16 June 2016 Posted 16 June 2016 Someone with mental problems I'd imagine. Why has everyone who kills someone else nowadays got to have "mental problems". This guy is just scum; a psycho. That's it. Lock him away forever.

Guest MattP Posted 16 June 2016 Posted 16 June 2016 First sitting MP to be killed since Ian Dow was murdered by the IRA in 1990.
EastAnglianFox Posted 16 June 2016 Posted 16 June 2016 I'll admit I didn't know about this as I was to busy moaning that Vardy hadn't started against Wales. Feel ashamed that things like that really wind me up when heartbreaking things such as this are happening. Thoughts to her family, just truly awful.

Hollism Posted 16 June 2016 Posted 16 June 2016 First sitting MP to be killed since Ian Dow was murdered by the IRA in 1990. And before that the last one was in the 1880's.
Webbo Posted 16 June 2016 Posted 16 June 2016 And before that the last one was in the 1880's. Airey Neave was killed by the Ira in 1979. I think a couple died in the Brighton Bombing too.
Guest Bilo Posted 16 June 2016 Posted 16 June 2016 Airey Neave was killed by the Ira in 1979. I think a couple died in the Brighton Bombing too. I think there may have been one or two assassinated in the 90s as well. Either way, this is the first terrorist attack to directly target an MP for some time.
Hollism Posted 16 June 2016 Posted 16 June 2016 Airey Neave was killed by the Ira in 1979. I think a couple died in the Brighton Bombing too. I think I misread somewhere earlier. Possibly the first non-Irish-related murder since the 1880's.
