What about Germany who we also beat?

Romania actually seem quite a hard team to play against, France scraped through with the Payet goal and the Swiss had to come from a goal down to get a point.

 

They let in two goals during qualifying which is mad, we let in three and we won every game.

they got a bit lucky at times against a ukraine team who got twatted by northern ireland and then should've lost to poland. if that's their AAA game i hope we get them in the last 16, probs the easiest route to the next round.

Well yeah, those that can get 3rd at least anyway.

The table I posted on page 1 shows who group winners A-D play in each possible outcome re : where the groups with the 4 best 3rd place teams. Eg, if the best 4 places teams are in groups ABCD, then the winners of group B will play the 3rd placed team in Group D, it '3D'.

So it's not necessarily the best team out of the 3rd placed team in groups A/C/D.

4 of the 6 best 3rd placed teams go through. It's impossible for a team not to go through from one of those groups.

Finishing 2nd would mean we face 2nd in group F. That group is doggo and surely any of those teams would be preferable to the 100 possible teams we could face finishing 1st.

Don't see either Rep of Ireland or Sweden getting anything from their last games,I think it comes down to what happens in the last round of Group F games.

If Iceland and Portugal both win I think Albania go home, anything else and they should go through.

Edit if we beat Slovakia by more than 2 goals and Wales avoid defeat o Russia we play Albania

Only a defeat by 4 goals or more will put Northern Ireland below Albania in the third place rankings.

Also, as much as I'd love to see Ireland through, I can't see either them or Sweden getting more than a point in their final games so reckon Northern Ireland are more or less there.
