Marshall Cockney Fox Posted 30 August 2016 Posted 30 August 2016 But there's about 4 others in that team who are possible Loan candidates and they're playing. Who pays his wages? Don't care too much, but on a positive note is it a defo sign a striker is coming in? He's not off unless we get a replacement in?

He has been making appearances on game days for the past couple of weeks - the other senior squad members haven't. I could see him wanting to spend time with his family, like Simpson, Albrighton, and the others not called up. I love Leo. I know he will move eventually, but I would rather it be next summer, or even January, so he can get a couple of minutes in the Champions League. He has earned it.
whitlock Posted 30 August 2016 Posted 30 August 2016 'Leo do you fancy playing in the U23s or have you made plans for the International break?' 'Ive made plans to go and visit the family in Argentina' 'Sweet no probs, enjoy...' !Leo refuses to play for U23s!

Slimani might not hit the ground running and will be unavailable for a chunk of matches in the new year. If we bring in Slimani and get to offload Ulloa to offset the fee then that's good business. If we were signing Manuel Neuer you wouldn't refuse a good offer for Schmeichel just in case he "didn't hit the ground running".
Hitesh Posted 30 August 2016 Posted 30 August 2016 Reading way too much into it... He could well have a knock or injury and needs the rest.

Just as well that we didn't get a good offer for Drinkwater when Inler signed
Lineker's Left Foot Posted 30 August 2016 Posted 30 August 2016 Will be sad to see Ulloa go if it happens. Really is no room for sentiment in football is there??

Are you suggesting we refuse eight figure offers for 30 year old Ulloa just in case our new £30m signing is a flop?

I hated when we sold King to Everton. I hated when we didn't give contracts to Vardy or Drinkwater or Mahrez etc...

whitwickfox Posted 30 August 2016 Posted 30 August 2016 Let's face it either schlupp Ulloa or Okazaki are moving on. Need to pay the buyout plus save on wages
StanSP Posted 30 August 2016 Posted 30 August 2016 1 minute ago, HighPeakFox said: Are you suggesting those improved contracts etc were based on sentiment? bit of both (reward as well)

We have no other that can fill that role in defence as well as attack. if we sell a tried and trusted established player and replace with another without PL experience who subsequently requires a lengthy adjustment period then we lose plan B. Personally I find that quite worrying with the series of matches coming up in the next few months.
dylanlegend Posted 30 August 2016 Posted 30 August 2016 If we sign Slimani it makes sense to sell Ulloa while his stock is quite high
UPinCarolina Posted 30 August 2016 Posted 30 August 2016 If they sell Shinji, I will be ****ing pissed.
