Financial stupidity to let a man go who literally prints our owners money. Why would they do it?  Unless it's time to kill the golden goose of course.

Rudkin is highly thought of by the owners.

He's like the annoying bloke at work who's useless at his job but always gets promotions as you see him browning nosing the gaffers daily.

Ridiculous!!

this is the beginning of the end for us, if we aren't careful. There has to be more than money to this?

Maybe SW has had a disagreement with someone at the club?

As AF said last season SW is the most influential man in the 15-16 season, deserved to be on a similar wage to CR

And then you make a post like this?

Bollocks. Can't help feeling our golden era has peaked as quickly as it started as the team that assembled a special group of players is dismantled. Expect to see us struggling to avoid relegation in a couple of years

One thing I overlooked is the NG situation and potential mahrez negotiations.

maybe Walsh wasn't happy with the way the club have handled NG's contract. He worked hard to get him here in the first place and the fact the club didn't pre empt with a big offer early on in may have annoyed him. Waiting and hoping no one would come in has turned out to be a complete failure.

Similarly with riyad. If Walsh sees his players not reaching their peak at the club he brought them to, perhaps that's telling him he should look elsewhere.

Trying to make sense of why, money apart, he would consider going when I know he was more than happy with the role he has here.

This whole whoever is unhappy/ doesn't want to be here can leave is the wrong way to go about things it's literally giving everyone regardless of how important they are to us free rain of just f**king off whenever they feel like it lowering our chances of getting the best fee possible!!

If we lose him to Everton, there is no way the owners can put a positive spin on it.

We have no idea what Jon Rudkin is like, but he has no experience of scouting or unearthing players, nor the contact list that Walsh has. It's a massive gamble to let Walsh leave because they trust Rudkin to carry on doing his job.

If he wants to be a Director of Football then we make him Director of Football at Leicester City, That is how important he is.

I don't doubt we've tried to keep Walsh at the club, but we surely could have done more to make him stay.

Walsh leaving pains me more than Kante leaving did.

Remember how mad we thought the owners were for getting rid of Pearson this time last year and then Cambiasso leaving? I thought we were doomed yet they told us to trust them, think I'll find it even harder this time around if its true

We do like a conspiracy theory on here, don't we? Maybe he's just been here a while and fancies a change and a move back towards 'home'? Has nobody else ever lost their edge at work, after a while, and start looking for new jobs just to keep themselves fresh?

Someone needs to stand in and sort this mess out, Rudkin sounds like a complete ****. The club need to reject  any approach for SW, isn't he under contract? If he leaves then sue for £100million + as is proved by the  current value of our team minus what we paid for it

Surely the challenge of putting together a squad for the Champions League is too good to resist?

You would assume so, but maybe not. Maybe sometimes you just want a change??

If we lose both him and Mahrez for pennies there has to be demonstrations outside the ground against that muppet rudkin.

Surely the owners can see how much he is worth to us? Even just taking Kante that's a £25m profit.  Can't we just offer him more money if that's what he's after? :(

Everton get bought out by a multi-billionaire.

Everton seek one of the best scouts there is who has a recent successful track record of scouring the world for players.

Everton throw money at said scout.

I very much doubt it just boils down to Walsh just 'wanting a change'.

This is the price of success, though. Just don't think anyone saw it kicking in so quickly.
