Hi All,

Fan from Dylan Watts' Dublin Club here, University College Dublin AFC (UCD AFC)

 

The UCD AFC SC did up a short article on Dylan Watts.  Republic of Ireland is a Summer season (Mar - Nov) so we are half through our season.  He completed his Leaving Certificate (High School/2nd level matriculation ) this June.  One important note, he competed in four UEFA Europa League qualifiers last July 2015 as Ireland got a Fair Play place and UCD were the Irish representatives.

Dylan was a team-mate of Robbie Benson who moved to Champions Dundalk FC end of 2015 and competes in the UEFA Europa League Groups this year.

(There are six Players in the Dundalk squad that played for UCD at the beginning of their careers).

 

Everyone at UCD is delighted with this opportunity for Dylan and wish him the best of luck.

Players are made up of 2nd and 3rd level Students, Graduates or returned Players.  'Development' is a big deal at the club and it's seen as a major feeder club for the rest of the Airtricity League.  The club offer US-style soccer scholarships to school leavers and the advantage is three or four years in a competitive part-time setup. 

We play Friday nights at our 1,500 seated stadium on the UCD Campus at Belfield in leafy South Dublin.  Since 1995 we have been out of the top tier Premier Division only 4 seasons, twice immediate returns.  We were relegated again end of 2014 through Play-Offs and didn't make it back last year (2015) but looking to return through Play-Offs end of October and November this year.
