Refuse to get too negative about things.

I'm confident that we'll look back on this start as something that didn't really reflect how the season went as a whole. Whatever the issues are, an unhelpful pre-season, finding a way to play without Kante or the lack of form from our best players, I reckon they'll be temporary problems.

We've got a title winning squad minus one exceptional player, we can't be that bad.

Like you say, finding a way to play without Kante is key, and I feel will need more than simply throwing someone in while keeping the same formation.

We shouldn't forget that no team has ever been in this position before. I.e. No club this small and with such a thin squad has defended a title and played in the Champions League before!

Liverpool cut through us everytime we tried to press but at least now we know we need a plan B. we dont have the players to play 442 without Kante.

u cannot play a high line defence with 4-4-2 if speed is not your defence's strength

This, we are paying players top wack now... so 4-1 against Liverpool is just an absolute disaster , the performance would have been bad had we just got promotion...

I'm not sure that's true, and I'd call it a poor performance, not a disgraceful one...

but it was really disappointing after Swansea, and I understand that everyone is pretty upset, so I think your question is basically valid.

Lets hope they make amends with a victory in the CL, at least we don't have to wait for 2 weeks for the next game! ;)

I don't go to many away games but did today.  Pretty embarrassing that some of our fans were more concerned about rambling on about Steven fvcking Gerrard to rile up the home fans, rather than actually watching the game that they've paid for. Or am I just being a killjoy?

Our fans are more likely to sing about the opposition than their own team. It's ****ing embarrassing.

Can see a repeat of Leeds Utd in 92.

Even though it was staring everyone in the face on deadline day the fact we missed out on a CM and RB is nuts.

I think I've seen one or two mention this already, but it took us a few matches for Ranieri to sort out the defence. Well, it drastically needs sorting out again. Whether it is ensuring Mendy is fit to play a Kante role and cover them, going to 3 or 5 in midfield, or giving them a talking to about keeping compact and holding their lines. We need to go back to basics and work hard.

Another thing that isn't working is the long ball over. We need to do something else, I don't know what as I am not a football expert. But it was clear we were putting the ball too far in front, and it was going out, or it was being cut out.

There is no sentimentality in football, drop KS, Mahrez and other 'stars' as needed to get their head back in the game.

I think two.

the other six definitely upped and some considerably so.

im sure kasper was not able to kick properly yesterday. Fuchs took a free kick left side of the area that kasper would normally take.

he performed well apart from that late rush out. but one his main assets is his quick kicking and if he wasn't certain to be able to do that for the whole game then why was he risked?

Well that didn't go to plan. Klopp's side were very impressive going forward. Their attacking 5 moved us around brilliantly and caused our big centre backs all sorts of trouble as they had nobody to mark and didn't know where to go. Liverpool will do that to plenty of sides this year but will also get beaten (Burnley style) at times hence why they won't win the league.

As for us, 442 against the bigger teams needs a rethink. Like Man City at home last season when we went 451 we need to help the midfield two as yesterday they were massively overrun. I like the idea of 433 but not sure we brought the personnel for that to work effectively or if it does I fear Vardy will have to be the one to give way which doesn't sit well.

Simpson getting injured is very worrying. I'm not particularly a fan of his but we have zero cover in terms of it being a players first choice position so fingers crossed its only minor. Could do with Mendy back too as options in the midfield are limited. The two positions I feel most let down by the club for not strengthening this summer.

Im still optimistic for the season ahead and looking forward to Bruges on Wednesday. Hopefully this is the game that really gets Ranieri thinking on how we need to set up this year.

I've stayed away from this post since yesterday.  I think a loss to Liverpool wasn't unexpected and we wont be the last team to get a battering from Liverpool, it's just the way that we were overran in midfield and it wasn't addressed after 10 mins.

The whole team failed to turn up.  Amartey made a few mistakes that were punished and I thought Drinky played terrible too, he couldn't seem to find any players with his forward passing.  Too many times Kasper and Fuchs resorted to lumping the ball up the pitch rather than trying to pass and move.  This just gave Liverpool another chance to attack us, rinse and repeat.  Mahrez needs the ball to his feet to make things happen.  Shinji needs to do more than work hard and press.  Vardy has had a lot of chances in the 4 games that he would have buried last season.

I would have expected 6 points at least from the first 4 games, playing two of the teams that will be pushing for the league.  I still have faith in the players we have and think we are stronger than 12 other teams in the league.

Stating the obvious and echoing many on here, maybe it's time to ditch 442.  When it works we are flying with pace and attacking intent, when it doesn't we fold.

It's a different season simple as. Last year was a massive one off, the stars aligned the top teams were dirt. We are never going to repeat it, and the motivation will not be there anymore. We can still finish mid table which if you forget last year would be considered decent. We are playing and acting like this season is a continuation of last year but it's not.

Let's just enjoy the ride again we have Champions League ffs in midweek. When as a Leicester fan did we ever think we would hear that??

My biggest worry is that I look at our performances so far and the teams in the league... And I struggle to see us being anywhere higher than 16th/15th. We just aren't that good. Relegation battle this year, unless Ranieri finds a new system and can get it working quickly. Because last years system was so successful we never needed a plan B. After yesterday it seems we don't have one.

How do you struggle to see us being higher than these positions? We just lost to a very good Liverpool side away, that can happen to any team on any day, they are a very good side when they are firing.

Yes we lost to Hull, but that was first game of the season and seemed as if we hadn't turned up yet. The other 2 games we played were very good, deserved a win over Arsenal and put away Swansea with ease. Upper mid table finish for me...

That's 4 points out of a possible 12, with two of those being home games. However you wanna spin it, that's a poor start.

This might be a good time to go 4-5-1 and keep things very tight until sometime in the second half of games?  Alternatively 3-5-2?  Sadly the loss of Kante has badly affected the side. Given the age of the three first choice centre halves I'm amazed that Beni was allowed to leave he did little wrong when he was played.  The squad seems unbalanced not enough cover in key positions.

We couldn't really do much more with our home games. Outplayed arsenal and should have had a pen in the last minute. Comfortably beat the swans.

The away form is worrying though, Liverpool destroyed us yesterday. Defence was awful and no creativity whatsoever going forward. Mahrez has been shocking this season so far.

Klopp completely and utterly tactically out did us.

Liverpool three times dragged a centre back out of position and then quickly switched the ball back inside to find the other centre back having to make two players.

Throughly disappointed with efforts and performance. It looked to be far too many players part jet lagged and a failure to shuffle the pack with that. Our game plan id struggle to suggest what we were doing.

Vardy and Schmeichel came over to the away end, that was it. Disappointed with that given the huge amounts of money fans have paid recently. Hurt having to share a train with plastic scousers on their way to Cheltenham and Northampton. Also being asked at least three times 'which way to Lime Street?'

I'm inclined to agree except maybe for the motivation bit.

Last season's incredible success was always going to be difficult to repeat. Hence CR's return to '40 points and avoid relegation' target. The 'big clubs' have tooled up seriously and we cannot compete with that. We have to "slowly, slowly" bring in new players and integrate them into the squad. We can't just go out and buy a new starting 11. We're still building.

Last year arguably happened too soon (in terms of the plan) - of course we'll take it and reap the just rewards - and now we find ourselves trying to balance  the expectations. I can accept us finishing lower mid table (and we will work it out and get the points to do that) but...

...what will anger me is those (pundits and other fans alike) that will gloat in a kind of 'told you so' delight. Fek 'em. We deservedly won the Prem last year and nobody can take that away from us.

I'm going to enjoy our CL run, however long it lasts, because we are there. I remember well the pure joy of being at the Vicente Calderon, little Leicester in Europe!

We'll get beaten again this season, and maybe tonked again (such is the quality of teams out there), but I can live with that. We'll come back, such is the desire in the team, and we'll have good performances and take the necessary points.
