Thracian Posted 10 September 2016 Posted 10 September 2016 29 minutes ago, Babylon said: We were very defensive, without the ball our shape was excellent last year, backs to the wall stuff plenty of times just like Burnley did. We made it hard for people and often forced them to go wide, our shape today didn't make it hard at all. Gone was the tight lines and compact play... In came players all over the shop, giving them acres of space inside, outside. Of course we miss him defensively and on the break, Amartey was poor and it's not going to help. But it was all over the field, slack marking, space everywhere for them to pass through. You're so right and it was made worse by people diving into tackles at the wrong time instead of getting close but staying patient and waiting for the right moment. Liverpool's tactic of keeping the pitch wide and our defenders turning this way and that with their runners, only made the consequences worse.
tsintskaro Posted 10 September 2016 Posted 10 September 2016 So disappointed with Morgan.whole defense was shit, but especially Wes.He was not even Championship level defender, something like Jamaican league substitute.such a shame.guy was totally lost. But you know it was not main problem,if Wes was good it wouldnt matter, they would lose anyway, because 4-2-2 is dead!today was final nail on its cofin.i Was sure a lot foxestalkers gave Amartey too much credit after game against Swansea.Yeah he was good, but that MOTM good?sure not.He is not 1/4 Kante.so forget about 4-4-2 Another huge problem is that there is nobody who can hold the ball, create chances and be number 10.no new blood which was so needed.Thats real disaster. We saw again how useless is Okazaki.its like they are playing 10.If Vardy is out of shape and cant score Okazaki instantly becomes player who has no mission on field, because all he can do is press and "help" Vardy score.ffs. They bring Musa.Musa is Shit Vardy and Vardy is shit so far.Tbh he is not high class forward.High class forward has good ending and not that "i will shot with all my power and please god let me score". I dont know what claudio meant when said he had plan b.w t f is plan b?he cant play 4-3-3 with this lineup, especially not 4-2-3-1 which i think is best one Huge minus to claudio,he totally lost the game Today watching them i had a feeling that they are still stuck in 2015-2016 season. They think that nothing is changed.they are so wrong i dont know What vice chairman meant when said that club has huge ambitions because i did not see one today.Ambition?no.they had no desire to win,had no character ffs i am so frustrated i wrote 4-3-3 when i was speaking of 4-4-2
Russell sprout Posted 10 September 2016 Posted 10 September 2016 Goals change games, had vardy scored his 1-1 to make it 3-2,it may have been different, we seemed to have the momentum at times, but got undone the same we we beat teams last season, it was a bad result, but we weren't terrible, we still created and had a go, lets get real and remember were Leicester city, had we lost this game having been in a relagation battle last season by this score line, people would accept it, but because we're champions and to some fans, they think we should be going anfield and easily beating Liverpool, Expectation levels are high, which I understand, but don't slate the players and manager on the back of what we've achieved, no one can take that away from us, if you asked any Liverpool fan would they swap constant relagation battles for a one off league title, under the circumstances, maybe not the majority but the minority certainly would just so can say there won the league, something we can forever say we have
Hammo Posted 10 September 2016 Posted 10 September 2016 Horrible performance all round. So deflating. Amartey and Okazaki out of their depth despite the fact both did well v Swansea last time out. Okazaki's inability to retain possession does my head in. It led to their second goal and Ranieri hooked him for it at half time. Can't remember last time a team sliced our defence apart like that. Well, yes I can. Arsenal this time last year. And Claudio changed things. For the better. As he will now. Mahrez will come good. We need to give him the ball more and not keep giving it to the opposition because without Kante we don't immediately win it back. If we draw in Bruges and beat Burnley, we'll all be happy again. We're more than capable of doing both.

Did you even watch us last season? or against Hull this season? He gives so much for the team in terms of pressing and holding the ball up. In fact, he put the pressure on Lucas today that made him make the dodgy pass across the area for our goal...
Guest Col city fan Posted 10 September 2016 Posted 10 September 2016 Said in the match thread, I'm struggling to think of a City player have such a bad game as Amartey did today. At least, not for a long time. He looked amazingly out of his depth. Like a Premiership side playing against a player from League 2. He didn't seem to know what he was there for, or even more worrying, DID know but couldn't do it. Miles off what we need at our level. At least, today.

AS i wrote above about players stuck in last season,so are you last season is gone gone Vardy will not score 24 and Mahrez 17 goals forget it
dannythefox Posted 10 September 2016 Posted 10 September 2016 Hate to see us play like that it was the same as hull. Vardy and Fuchs probably the best players but we go again next week. This seasons going to be nothing like last season top 11/12 will be hard work.
Sublime_Coatsworth Posted 10 September 2016 Posted 10 September 2016 Outclassed in every department. We looked disjointed, apprehensive, unable to string a few passes together, weak, unfit, leaderless and tactically naive. In fact the complete opposite of the team we really are. Shame really as Liverpool are weak defensively if you press them hard enough. Midfield needs the most work. We joked last year that Kante was really two players, so maybe we're going to need an extra man there. Shame we couldn't get Adrien, when's Musa back? Put it behind us, work like fvck as a team on the training ground next week - and we WILL turn it around.

Shades of Junior Lewis at times today I thought. Amazing considering how some were lauding him as the new Kante after the Swansea game!
TeamRocket Posted 10 September 2016 Posted 10 September 2016 I didn't get to watch the game and had to listen to 2 Liverpool brother in laws bragging all day about how the made us look like a pooor poor championship side and had to spend 6 hours of my live listening to how we aint gonna be as good this year. So il just sit here quitely taking there abuse till we win them again some time in the future. I definitely felt like i just woke up from my wonderful dream to and very scary nightmare
Great Boos Up Posted 10 September 2016 Posted 10 September 2016 Sooner or later we were gonna have our pants pulled down and take a spanking. 4-1 or 8-1 the points are still the same. Liverpool were good and Firmino ran the show in that space NK would have defended. Probably more concerned about shots on target against a gung-ho Liverpool in their new and improved stadium going full throttle. Perhaps Slimani could have got a 2-2 goal and I believe they would have folded in fear. Still the Champions League to win, so I'll suck it up, lift my head and stick my chest out like I've always done.
sylofox Posted 10 September 2016 Posted 10 September 2016 Still think top ten min with a champions league run.
tsintskaro Posted 10 September 2016 Posted 10 September 2016 What about Mahrez,i dont know what to say i dont like that everyone is expecting him so much, its huge presure on him.yes i know he was pfa player of the year but anyway i dont like calling him our light, our magician.it seems to me that it means that after this there is no need for another "magician",for another guy with skills of creating chances and scoring, because we got Mahrez!magician! and what i dont like more is "keep our league winning team together" no it is not right its so much wrong no place for sentiments

blueharmie Posted 10 September 2016 Posted 10 September 2016 If huths header don't hit the bar and goes in different game. Will be fine.
foxinsocks Posted 10 September 2016 Posted 10 September 2016 WE MUST LEARN FROM TODAY... WE NEED MORE FORM MAHREZ AND ALBRGHTON GOING FOWARD... LOOK AT THE OPTIONS LIVERPOOL HAD.

Amazing turn around from the Swansea game where he looked like the player that could make 442 work. That being said, unlike a few on here, I rate Liverpool as one of the best teams in Europe going forward, so a heavy loss was a possibility. I still think we can finish top 8, but Ranieri needs to work out his best team/formation post Kante.
oxtonfox Posted 10 September 2016 Posted 10 September 2016 We seem now to have 11 achilles heels. Last season it seemed no one knew how to play us but now they have worked it out. Watch the top teams stretch us and then we look like we just fall apart. Top 7 or 8 aside then I think we are in a scrap where we will win, lose and draw a few. I'd be very happy with 10th to be honest. What's the remedy? Maybe we can't play 4-4-2 (against the top teams) as Nigel Pearson said a couple of seasons ago "cos we will get ripped to shreds". 3 in midfield for United away. Hopefully Mendy will be fit and Amartey/Drinky or King in to help out. I don't know who will play in the other 3 positions but I feel we can't drop Riyadh yet and definitely not Jamie. At home we can get away with 4-4-2 and possibly in some of the Euro games cos attack is going to be our best form of defence I think
Almo-Fox Posted 10 September 2016 Posted 10 September 2016 Hi this my first post in here I think this a match to forget it happen to all clubs where half of their players came back from international break matchs W all know that this is not the real performance of a morgan , a huth or Danny or a musa We cannot judge a team n such circumstances I m sure that they will be Back stronger

Almo-Fox Posted 10 September 2016 Posted 10 September 2016 Even barca lost just now to the new comer Alvarez deportivo with messi Suarez and Neymar in camp nou
Pasty1 Posted 10 September 2016 Posted 10 September 2016 The season will evolve.... as will the team....... Amarty was excellent last week but poor today.... But Drinkwater was poor today.... nothing went for him.... But Liverpool moved the ball well and a excellent goal from Lallana... Claudio will sort things out... If Vardy had scored they would have been rocking...... Hope Slamini brings a bit of confidence to Marhez... There's going to be a lot of twists and turns this season...... Top six will do!!!
