Would you be happy to drop down to the Europa league?

I'd be happy to have any European LCFC experience but not at the price of being relegated if we were fighting that battle. I agree that Thursday & Saturday gams might be a stretch for the depth of quality and experience in our current squad.

You don't play Thursday and Saturday, it's Sunday's if you play on Thursday.

No I wouldn't be happy to the op, this is like the league cup compared to the FA cup and at present we are in the FA cup with a great chance of progressing considering who we could've drawn.

Let's enjoy these 6 games before contemplating anything else.

There's every chance we'll enjoy them - we don't seem to be focused on anything else!

This thread, before a ball is even kicked? Fooking sums up a certain portion of our support.

Given our poor form would you rather lose 1-0 to Burnley on Saturday or 5-4?

It's ridiculous to say the least. The Man Utd argument is so far removed from our situation. We have on one hand a team that expects to be in Europe season after season, have won European competitions and have played and won in nearly ever major ground in Europe. Of course they would see the Europa League as a bit of an inconvenience, visiting smaller teams and often playing reserves and fringe players.

On the other hand we have a team who have played 3 seasons in Europe in their history (and twice played the same opposition). We want to be in Europe every second we can.

I hope we can finish in the top 2 and keep the CL dream going as long as possible.

If it were to go south, would I take the knockout stage of the EL, you bet and I would question anyone who wouldn't.

At the start of last season I would have been over the moon if I were offered EL qualification.

Now were asked would you prefer the last 32 of the EL or nothing?

Got to be one of the worst questions ever asked on here.

Close Thread.

Getting out of the group and then playing a second round match against a huge European team would do me.

But I'd still be pleased if we went into the Europa League should we fail in the group stages, it's great to be involved in these things.

Shocking mentality in this thread, look at our group for crying out loud?!?! How can you be happy to finish 3rd in that? No disrespect to the others but this is as easy as a group that we could have asked for and people are happy to settle for the Europa league, awful mentality

I think this thread is way too premature and has a bit of a ring of desperation to it - potentially influenced by our league loss at Liverpool last weekend?

I'd rather see how we're doing in the Champions League and enjoy the ride up until the last of the six group stage games at least, before making any further comment about a Europa League involvement.

The reaction by some ppl on this thread (and like so many others) lol

It's only a hypothetical question, chill out.

FWIW, I think I'd prefer going down to the europa league and winning that, over say going out in the quarter finals of the CL. I'm not too fussed over poncy about with CL prima donnas just for the sake of saying we were there. Unless we put in some truly heroic efforts along the way, we'd have to reach at least the semi-finals for me to be really impressed with it.

If we can't progress from this group, we don't deserve to do anything at all in the tournament.

I cannot believe some of the comments in this thread. Surely let's concentrate and support the lads in the european competition we are in. If we end up in Europa cup then we will support them in that but let's not be hoping we fail in a competition.

Other teams in other countries can play football, too.

Ask Joe Hart.

Win, lose or draw - will regularly support the club.

Appears that there's certain people who, if we the team don't do well, get panicky and expect the worse will happen etc.

These people aren't real fans, real fans are those that chant the team on no matter what and won't boo if things go to the bin.

No No No That would be failure and I don't like failure unless it's justified. This Squad is capable of much better. Which is why I expect a win tonight.

As Col has said if we can't get out of this group then we shouldn't really be wasting everyone's time.

I think some people forget just 8 years ago we were in the third tier. Now we've won the premier league and we're in the champions league.

Its great that we want our team to progress. It's understandable that passionate fans become upset after a bad result when we've got so used to the team doing so well.

From the run in the "great escape" to the start of this season you could count the number of defeats we had (in the league at least) on one hand.

Inspite of our wobble at the start of this season I'm not going to forget how well they've played. How proud the boys have made us. Nor am I going to give all the credit to one player and bemoan the fact he's left because he didn't play in every game in that magnificent run. Nor will I demonise the players who performed the impossible last season just a few games into this season or panic thinking we've somehow lost our mojo.

I'm definitely not going to forget their achievement and move on. It's cause for  celebration all season long. We're champions!

I won't bemoan the manager who guided us to perform this miracle keeping with a system that worked after just 4 games. He reassessed after a few games last season when we were conceding too easily but he didn't panic. He gave RDL and Schlupp chances first. Then made changes and we became better for his calm assessment.

Lastly and most importantly I don't think we should be considering going out of a competition before we've even kicked a ball in it.

We had no chance in the premier league last season and guess what ... ? We won.

We've no chance in Europe this season ....? We will see...

Win lose or draw though I'll be behind the lads 100% all the way and won't say things like "don't deserve to be there."

Life is a rollercoater ride being a Leicester fan. We're on a high right now and I'm not ready to come back down!
