Strongest possible 11 for me. The midweek game can be a full change of 11 players. Burnley have had a number at home for ages. Three points are needed.
desertfox2 Posted 16 September 2016 Posted 16 September 2016 Same side that started against Brugge. We need to build momentum. In the League cup change all 11 if we have to but we need to beat nay smash Burnley. I would take the FA cup very serious for history reasons but league cup meh.... different if we suddenly find ourselves in the semis

ALC Fox Posted 16 September 2016 Posted 16 September 2016 We really need to win this game, I feel. Part of the test of European football is how you fare in the league game immediately afterwards. Burnley will have had more time to prepare for this too, focusing solely on beating us while we were preparing for, playing against, and travelling to/from Brugge. As others have said, I'd take 1-0 all day long.
dbtcity Posted 16 September 2016 Posted 16 September 2016 It's far to early in the season to be rotating to much, we had a poor pre season and as CR said we were struggling for fitness, that fitness is only going to improve by playing games so the suggestion of resting a load of players seems crazy to me, the majority of players will be rested mid week v Chelsea so I'd be surprised if we see many changes from Brugge
Guest seanfox778 Posted 16 September 2016 Posted 16 September 2016 They've got to be one of our biggest bogey teams at home since we moved stadiums. Time to put that right, would love a comfortable win and Slimani to score but it'll be a tough afternoon I reckon.
simon789us Posted 16 September 2016 Posted 16 September 2016 Going to be a tricky game they will no doubt sit back given the pace of vardy and musa when he comes on now we have someone in slimani who is good in the air no disrespect the Leo hopefully have a plan b go for the throat I say
lifted*fox Posted 16 September 2016 Posted 16 September 2016 I hope we beat these convincingly this time. I can't stand Dyche - such a ****ing melt.
Guest CityFan 06 Posted 16 September 2016 Posted 16 September 2016 They seem like us to have a strong unit. I'm confident in the options we've got though.
Babylon Posted 16 September 2016 Posted 16 September 2016 They'll sit deep, invite us on and try and get us on the counter. Unless we get an early goal it could be a long afternoon.
Ted Maul Posted 16 September 2016 Posted 16 September 2016 Not sure if this has been picked up on yet or not, but if we avoid defeat here, we will have gone a year unbeaten at home in the league. What an achievement that would be, for a club of our size!

Weren't they the first visiting team to win there great record at the KP if memorey serves, I think i've only seen us turn them over once at our place and that was over a decade ago. EDIT: having looked we have beat them a couple of times when we got play offs (including a 4-0 win I most certainly do not remember) last game time I saw us beat them was 03. From then they went on a run of beating us 1-0 for every game for about six seasons

Yup, got some bad memories of Burnley games. I think the games against them and Plymouth during the 2004-08 era left the biggest scars. 0-0 or 0-1 guaranteed. Andy f**king Gray. The bloke was an absolute carthorse but seemed to score against us every time. We owe them one at home, that's for certain.

I think I'd successfully managed to suppress that memory, somehow. Grim times, hard to believe we're watching the same club these days!
SecretPro Posted 16 September 2016 Posted 16 September 2016 Quote There is also pressure on the away team, or at least their manager: Sean Dyche started the season by mocking the respect with which the Premier League’s foreign managers, including Claudio Ranieri, are treated, describing him and Pep Guardiola as “two geniuses, one adding pizza and one taking it away” and complaining that the press “questioned me for playing 4-4-2 and then everyone played it last year and it was, ‘amazing Ranieri, tactical genius’”. These were easy claims to make before a ball had been kicked, and said at least half in jest, but should he be outfoxed by the Italian here he might resolve to keep such quips quiet in future. Dyche is such a fat raspy sh*t c*nt. Thinks he invented 4-4-2 now. Delusional fat raspy sh*t c*nt If we lose to that joker I won't sleep for a week.
Guy Posted 16 September 2016 Posted 16 September 2016 Despite Wednesday's cruise to victory in Bruges, Burnley rarely lose at our place and on the last occasion two years ago they sneaked a point in the last minute of course - so let's hope we get a win here as a point or less and it could see the Champions slip into the bottom three!
