Thracian Posted 15 September 2016 Posted 15 September 2016 Burnley will pose a much harder challenge than Brugge, no question in my mind. But with our excellent him record and Slimani adding to our options i see attitude and focus as being the key factors. With Vardy and Mahrez already offering us a goal threat once again most of our problems are about defending and moving forward as a unit. Our passing was much improved against Brugge but still not slick enough or particularly creative either on the floor or through the air. What pleased me against Brugge was Drinkwater having a couple of half-decent shots which actually threatened a goal. If he can continue increasing his goal threat it will be a major plus for us and a goal against Burnley would be a good time to start. A 2-1 win is what I'm expecting - our defence still looks leaky - but a draw wouldn't surprise me if we're anything less than our best.
justfoxes Posted 15 September 2016 Posted 15 September 2016 For all the RR supporters on FT here's a little something for you, but keep it to yourselves and don't tell the Mods ! Sssh ! https://m.reddit.com/r/RachelRiley?count=25&page=3&after=t3_4ci5ni&before=
Guest CityFan 06 Posted 15 September 2016 Posted 15 September 2016 Burnley are similar in the fact they have a group of players who work for each other, a decent unit. Not sure if Andre Gray is playing but even when they were in the Championship I rated him a lot, I thought then he could be successful in the Premier League. They've got quite a few tidy players in fairness. It's a good opportunity for us to get the 3pts particularly at home. After the Brugge win hopefully we can take that into our league campaign and start getting our form on track.
Guest CityFan 06 Posted 15 September 2016 Posted 15 September 2016 Will Schlupp, Mendy or Simpson be (fully) fit & ready for this one?
David Hankey Posted 15 September 2016 Posted 15 September 2016 I predict a 2-0 home win against Burnley. Vardy and Salami will be too much to handle.
AKCJ Posted 15 September 2016 Posted 15 September 2016 Schmeichel Hernandez Huth Morgan Fuchs Drinkwater Mendy Musa Okazaki Gray Slimani That should be more than enough.
tsintskaro Posted 15 September 2016 Posted 15 September 2016 Opening goal from Slimani with header and then they will dominate game easily
Benji Posted 15 September 2016 Posted 15 September 2016 After last night I'm really excited to see the Slimani/Vardy partnership develop. I also think Slimani joining will have a positive impact on Mahrez who suddenly looked more involved yesterday with one twos - I think those three could be incredible this season.
UPinCarolina Posted 15 September 2016 Posted 15 September 2016 Shinji will come off the bench to close out games late this season with either Ulloa or Musa and it will be brilliant. Vardy and Silmani will make life difficult for defenders, and the defense will sort out their issues. It may not all happen this week, but I believe that it *will* happen in due time. 3-1 LCFC
leicesterlad1989 Posted 15 September 2016 Posted 15 September 2016 Too early into the season to even consider rotating the team. We are playing Burnley on the back of a comfortable win, away in the Champions League. Consistency is key this early into the season. Suggestions of dropping Mahrez, after scoring two is mind boggling. Key word again is consistency! Personally don't think we can start both Gray and Mahrez in the same team either as they don't support the defence enough. I'd be surprised if we make any changes. Possibly Simpson replacing Hernandez.
foxy boxing Posted 15 September 2016 Posted 15 September 2016 we need to go into this with the same buzz and confidence as the brugge game, if we do that burnley will not get near us. it is all about showing our quality and stamping our authority on the game. don't just sit back and counter which is fast becoming our trademark but get at them right from the off and impose ourselves on the game straightaway with drinky supplying the bullets for vardy and slimani and albrighton and mahrez putting in quality crosses if we keep pressing them and get the majority of the second ball they will buckle. we just need to make sure we are defensively on it and no individual errors to let them in the game
FireFox Posted 15 September 2016 Posted 15 September 2016 Same team, unless someone needs rest. Probably put Simpson in if fit. B-team for Chelsea. Zieler, Chilwell, Was, Hernandez, young RB?, Schlupp, Kingy, Mendy, Gray, Musa, Ulloa. Man U away will be interesting. Will Mendy deserve a start? Do we rest players ahead of the CL game?
Gazza M Posted 15 September 2016 Posted 15 September 2016 I see maybe only Simpson coming back if fit for Hernandez at RB. I see 11 changes for Chelsea however.
John Williams Posted 15 September 2016 Posted 15 September 2016 Leicester vs Burnley: 17 Sep 2016. 15:00. In astrology (may work): the logo/symbol of the match will be: * Burnley: "A Volcanic Eruption". The explosive energy of long-repressed contents = dramatic release of energies = a spectacular catharsis takes paths of destruction, fire is experienced = frustrations shake up and even more destructively the very foundations of the team. The Keyword is "EXPLOSION". * Leicester: The Transmutation Of The Fruits Of Past Experiences Into The Seed-Realizations Of The Forever Creative Spirit = A repolarization of inner energies of the team leading to a creative centralization. = Power Wisdom and Intelligence in action. The ability to win by Three “Old Masters”. * The Score: A Square With One Of Its Sides Brightly Illumined. the numbers 3, 4 and 6 are marked. * Final result: Leicester will win and may blow Burnley. Good Luck Leicester.
Clever Fox Posted 15 September 2016 Posted 15 September 2016 I can't believe someone suggesting we rest Mahrez when he's just scored 2 Goals. Keep him on. I'm not sure Slimani is ready for 90 minutes so I'd start with Okazaki and bring Slim on at Half time. other than that I'd go with the rest of last night's team. If I wanted to make a change it would be to being in Schlupp and leave Albrighton on the right where he done very well last night.
ARM1968 Posted 15 September 2016 Posted 15 September 2016 I'd take every game 1-0. I hate potential banana skins. Burnley are more foreskin though.
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 15 September 2016 Posted 15 September 2016 All our home games are must win at the moment with our list of away games coming up. Can't see any points coming on the road. Stick with same team as Wednesday if fitness or injuries allow it
flintshirefox Posted 15 September 2016 Posted 15 September 2016 I'm always nervous when we are expected to win a game. I was at Burnley at home two years ago when they equalised with a 97th minute free kick - it really felt like a defeat. I'm taking nothing for granted........... PS Sean Dyche - does he need a pack of Strepsils or what?
Guest CityFan 06 Posted 15 September 2016 Posted 15 September 2016 It's honestly quite tricky to think who he will play on Saturday. I think he might stick with the team from Wednesday if possible. Simpson back in maybe, Okazaki possibly, Gray, Musa? We've got great strength in depth.
crazyleicester Posted 15 September 2016 Posted 15 September 2016 Momentum! Thats what helped last season and thats what we are desperate for this season. I thought we were back in the grove against Swansea and then the heavens opened making part of the game a farce and the International break followed which stifled us. Now, we won on a Wednesday in superb fashion and play at home with plenty of rest time in between. No jet lag of Thailand and the U.S here! With all that in mind, Id play the same side as Hernandez did a few good things but I like the thought of them throws coming in. I wouldnt select a player just for that but Simpson has been a little shaky and a couple of games out may give him a refocus. Thats the whole point in having a squad and making these lads battle for their place as lets face it, Hernandez will get more settled with us the more he is involved. I reckon Burnley will defend deep and will be hard to break down but I think we will see the game through 2-0.
davieG Posted 15 September 2016 Posted 15 September 2016 Dyche a big fan of champion Claudio Clarets boss Sean Dyche admits Leicester City counterpart Claudio Ranieri is a man after his own heart. Dyche was a huge admirer of the way the Foxes stunned the Premier League to finish as runaway winners last season. And ahead of tomorrow’s trip to face the champions at the King Power Stadium. Dyche said: “They’re a good side and have invested heavily – and rightly so as champions. “The thing that’s impressed me most is the manager looked at what he’d got and worked out the best way of playing, rather than come in with a brand. “They have pace, energy and quality, and used it. “I like the pragmatic approach, to work with what you’ve got and mould it, rather than deconstruct it. “A lot is said about how they play long ball, and yes, the ball will go forward quickly, but with quality.” And Dyche relishes the prospect of facing the Italian and his side, including PFA player of the year Riyad Mahrez and Football Writers and Premier League player of the year Jamie Vardy: “We’re ready for the challenge, but it was the same two years ago, it’s a big ask for us, but it’s what we wanted, to be at this level again. “We’re up for it and looking forward to it.” Dyche could hand a debut to record signing Jeff Hendrick, and as he ponders how to tackle the Foxes, he said: “The idea of being active in bringing players in, was to help make us more flexible. “People pigeon hole you, the same as with Leicester, but there is more to their game than getting the ball forward quickly – they can play. “The counter counter sounds easy, but they ripped up the Premier League with that last year. “We have to find different ways to win games.” Leicester are fresh from winning their first Champions League game, 3-0 at Club Brugge on Wednesday, but Dyche expects their travelling to have little effect: “There is a balance to it, they got the result and the players will be feeling good about themselves after a tough result against Liverpool. If it was at Turf it might be slightly different as they’d be travelling again, but they had a private jet in and out, which helps with recovery.” Read more at: http://www.burnleyexpress.net/sport/football/clarets/dyche-a-big-fan-of-champion-claudio-1-8127296?
