Under appreciated by the players

Has anybody else been getting the feeling over the last year to 18 months that our fans really don't appreciate the support we give them enough. I go to nearly all away games and the players rarely give much of a shit about coming over to us at the final whistle. Many, many times i see away teams go right over to the corner at the KP to clap with their fans win, lose or draw, and more often than not they are within 5 or 10 yards of their fans. With our lot Kasper comes within about 30 yards of us, Wes will follow slightly behind him giving a little clap, and maybe Vardy, but the rest of them just walk into the changing room, maybe give us a look and a clap ad that is it. I started thinking this last season when we won the league against Everton, the players hardly celebrated with he fans at all they just celebrated together and gave us the odd clap and wave. Years ago I remember after every win Tim Flowers used to do a run from he centre circle and celebrate with us and in the Filbert Street days the players ran into the fans in the Kop. People will probably think i am being over critical as you can't say anything against this crop of players, and don't get me wrong i ****ing love what thy are doing, but they do not give a crap about us as fans. And lets be honst we must be one of the best supported club in the country at the minute home and away always sold out, never stop singing, just wish they engaged with us more!!

Every single player went over to applaud the fans on Weds....what are you asking for? Bowing to the crowd?

Fine line for the players they don't want to be over the top, but everytime they get interviewed they reference how good the support is.

I don't feel under appreciated, I thought the team showed plenty at the end of games last year and also before kick off  when at the end of the warm up they get a rousing reception (from those actually in the ground)

Several season tickets plenty of miles clocked up on the road 25 years of support, more money than I want to try and add up, not to mention 28,000 posts on here, pretty pissed off one of them hasn't bought me one of dem super cars they drive about in tbf. Wankers.

I dont get to grounds like I USED 2 because of my disabilities. On Tv it hasnt really come across, but like you say, every player interviewed

Always mentions the fans.

On the pitch..I suppose on the odd occasion one would hope them to go to the fans, especially away games.

I can remember Schmeichel and Ranieri, and at another timre Vardy and Albrighton actually gestilating to their

fellow players to join them and go over to the fans. Distance is relative its the gesture..1-3 mins of going to at least

one side of the ground would show appreciation.

Any time I have seen Schmeichel,Morgan, Vardy  they seems to be  always Clapping the fans at the end....Ranieri before and after.

Different perspective inside the grounds I suppose, or littlethorpefox too busy finishing his beer and pie to recognise it..:P

In all seriousness this lot are great compared to some I can remember who play like utter dog shit and not give a toss about the 600 fans that have driven to Plymouth on a Tuesday night.

At least they could offer you a weekend test drive..:D

maybe i'm being over critical but i have seen other away teams going over to their fans and engaging with them for 5-10 mins before going back into the changing room, we never had anything like that other than Sunderland away in 2015

Almost every one of them has been abused and slated by some "fans"... they aren't going to be our best mates. The disconnect is just something that happens in modern football, many don't live or socialise in local communities like many players used to.

Uh oh. Here comes stage 2 the over defensive "I have a right to my opinion" stage.

I'm just off to the shop does anybody want any pop corn picking up for the slagging match stage?

ill be spending probably 2k watching the boys round britain and europe this year i think i can have a say on how i feel the players treat us "fans"

You tight bastard.

I've already committed to nearly that and I haven't brought a beer in Copenhagen yet. And there's still 17 league aways to do lol

I'd like free football shirts every game to show their appreciation for us supporting them

and a car after all it's the fans that helped win the league as much as the players

Liked it on Wednesday when Islam Slimani was also trying to gee the fans up in the 2nd half. As long as we don't go down the foreign route and the players stand waving their arms in the air and then run to the crowd, now that is just cringeworthy especially after every game.

And you've had it - without paragraphs I might add.

Now sit back and wait for people to disagree with you - it's called their opinion.

It's hilarious. I blame social media. Twitter / facebook is full of people who express a view, get a reply from somebody disagreeing with them, then respond by bolshily asserting they have a 'right' to their view - when nobody has questioned that right. So many sensitive souls about...

Whilst I think the OP has blown it way out of proportion, I do see where he is coming from.

We got pumped last Saturday, and everyone stayed behind to applaud the team off, but only a couple of players acknowledged it. Wembley as well- after the final whistle, everyone just sort of ambled over to the centre circle to chat with the United players.

I know they appreciate us because many of them have mentioned how good the support is, and we all know they care. It's not an issue at the moment either, but I could see it annoying a few more people if we go on a bad run of form and the mood around the club changes.

Bought several beers in Stockholm so I've cleared 2k already :o

Players always appear to make a point of recognising the support of the fans when interviewed and many mentions on soctal media etc

I got confused on the first sentence!!

who doesn't appreciate what?

People are different. Kasper's had the perfect football upbringing and maybe he sees it as right to say thanks to the fans however he's played individually - and I don't the simple good manners of his actions shield him from at least some potential flak when things go wrong.

Others react differently and perhaps according to the way they've played or the result's gone and they may not invite praise or thanks when they've just lost 4-1. It hurts a committed professional to lose and there's no hiding the pain for some perhaps for days on end until they're fully focused on the next challenge.

For me Kasper's the ultimate professional. No-one would doubt that he gives 100% commitment to every game - both in terms of his own performance and his encouragement of others. And if things do go wrong he still has the character to face the fans and to thank them for being there on the bad days as well as the good.

The more who react like that the better but there's no doubt some don't feel comfortable dealing with anything after a defeat.

you can. You're entitled to your say. But what gives you the right to deny others from having their say and disagreeing with you i.e. maybe they feel the players do treat us well as fans?

I think they're quite thankful for us and always reference us in interviews etc. Just because they don't appreciate us how you want them to, doesn't mean they don't do it at all.
