Under appreciated by the players

There are certain players in our squad whos personalities and egos rub me the wrong way. But I put that down to modern footballers.

i was at spurs away and all the players definitely came over

Ahhh bless you. And you are right you do have the right to voice your opinion. Just as every other member of this forum have a right to reply.

If you are going to get over sensitive about peoples reply perhaps you should not post. Personally the players lifting the title last season was by far the best way to thank us all.

Has anybody else been getting the feeling over the last year to 18 months that our fans really don't appreciate the support we give them enough. I go to nearly all away games and the players rarely give much of a shit about coming over to us at the final whistle. Many, many times i see away teams go right over to the corner at the KP to clap with their fans win, lose or draw, and more often than not they are within 5 or 10 yards of their fans. With our lot Kasper comes within about 30 yards of us, Wes will follow slightly behind him giving a little clap, and maybe Vardy, but the rest of them just walk into the changing room, maybe give us a look and a clap ad that is it. I started thinking this last season when we won the league against Everton, the players hardly celebrated with he fans at all they just celebrated together and gave us the odd clap and wave. Years ago I remember after every win Tim Flowers used to do a run from he centre circle and celebrate with us and in the Filbert Street days the players ran into the fans in the Kop. People will probably think i am being over critical as you can't say anything against this crop of players, and don't get me wrong i ****ing love what thy are doing, but they do not give a crap about us as fans. And lets be honst we must be one of the best supported club in the country at the minute home and away always sold out, never stop singing, just wish they engaged with us more!!

You've lost me. Our fans don't appreciate the support we give them?

Or did you mean players?

Anyway, looks like this has turned into a pissing contest over who has spent the most money.

I do agree with you about this though, but I think it was the sheer number of hangers on on the pitch which diluted the experience for everyone. Would have loved to have seen at least one lap of honour with just the players before the friends, families and delegates were involved.

Tight bastard....that made me laugh!

It was meant as a joke. But it's a bit like I've been to 3000 games since the 1930s and brought 3 million tickets. I haven't and I can't change my age so people need to deal with it.

2k including 3 European tours to some is a shit load. To others it's feck all I guess.

I got asked to do a survey by Leicester uni when I was about 19 and when I totalled 7k a year following Leicester I decided to stop the survey as I nearly had a heart attack lol

I get that to the players it's about 8 minutes earnings. But we can't control the fact the horse has bolted.

Get over it. Carry on supporting in my book. Or just shut the **** up.

The day I decide my 3 season tickets and trains. Beers. Food. Merchandise is too much is the day I won't be on here moaning about it.

I'll be watching from afar and happy I lived through this era. The lads I go with know I have slagged vardy and drinky amongst others. I hardly then expect a bunch of flowers in return lol

Corrected to avoid any further confusion for those that actually read things...

Tbf the circumstances that day were different,

we had just avoided relagation

On Wednesday night all the Bruges players did a lap of honour after just losing 3-0 at home. Whilst a few fans clapped, most just filed out the stadium and a couple of idiots shouted at them. I presume it was abuse of some sort. Found it all very strange myself.

Our players seem to stay grounded. They don't celebrate a win too much and don't get too down at a loss. Their post match reaction seems fairly consistent to me. I like that! A wave and a clap, some acknowledge us a bit more than others.

Plus as others have said, the players often mention the support in interviews and on social media.

Posted

Hardly a coincidence is it that Vardy, Kasper and Drinkwater are the more appreciative ones.

The rest of the players barely get a song and if they do its half arsed with nobody knowing the words.

Kante and Mahrez last season should have had big songs for them considering they were 2 of our 3 main men.

Every player should have had a song to let them know how appreciated they are after what they achieved.

actually hysterical would be a better description rather than critical. Honestly, I've read some utter rubbish on here over the years but your OP is right up there with the best

Posted

I kind of see where the OP is coming from but I don't think there's a problem.

When they finish their warm up there's a few applaud. They tend to applaud after the game. The majority of them will have played 90 minutes in one of the toughest leagues in the world, they know there's drug tests and TV/Radio/Press interviews for them to do.

They have played the game their entire careers and whilst they're being cheered off the pitch they know that in three or four games those cheers could easily be boo's. Go over to applaud then and some pissed up prat is liable to try and coin them.

If I had a choice of being in a relegation battle every season but having the joys of seeing our manager point towards the fans to his players almost forcing them to go and clap the fans or win the league and see the players work so hard that they are shattered and want to go for the shower, I think I`d take the latter thanks.

Its so boring seeing managers after the game remind players to go to the fans to thank them for their support. Id take them thanking me via performance thanks as the rest is just bollocks. My day wont get any better if players came over to us or not but it certainly may change my mood and they played like a bunch of vag`s.

Several season tickets plenty of miles clocked up on the road 25 years of support, more money than I want to try and add up, not to mention 28,000 posts on here, pretty pissed off one of them hasn't bought me one of dem super cars they drive about in tbf. Wankers.

I know, it's not like they don't already have millions of £££ and here's me driving around in a crappy old nissan micra with 6 previous owners!

No I know how you meant it!

It it was funny - I was for once on the same wave length as someone else on here.

They never mention me in the post match interview, one of the thousands watching a blurry drinkwater boss the midfield on an illegal stream

They gave us a premier league title.... thanks enough for me. Not that it's an excuse but they are probably on a pretty tight schedule after the game no doubt, media requirements and corporate etc. More so than the filbert street days.
