BoyJones Posted 17 September 2016 Posted 17 September 2016 Hope Kante puts in an appearance, I for one will give him a warm round of applause.
urban.spaceman Posted 17 September 2016 Posted 17 September 2016 Compare the 'B' team we put out in this match against the one we put out vs Shrewsbury 2 years ago.... Or even West Ham in Round 3 last season....
Gerard Posted 17 September 2016 Posted 17 September 2016 If you pick two different teams with 22 different players it will hopefully dispel the myth by some of our fans that we haven't got strength in depth. Also those of you squealing about keeping Ulloa and Schlupp rather than cashing in for the best part of £25m need to take a long hard look at yourselves.
Guest CityFan 06 Posted 17 September 2016 Posted 17 September 2016 I think Musa could be class for us. His pace is exciting & with that he creates chances. Excellent strength in depth. It would be great for him to score in this one to boost his confidence further.

I think both of them are trying too hard to get that first goal.
StriderHiryu Posted 17 September 2016 Posted 17 September 2016 It shows how far we've come when many of us fans "don't care" about this competition! I always used to think fans of the traditional top 4 clubs were arrogant to think this but now I can understand it. Chelsea have a great record in this cup and will put a strong team out, whereas we'll play our squad players. Expect a defeat but hope we put in a good performance. I'm interested in seeing how Kaputska performs as he hasn't been anywhere near the first team, yet starts internationally. I imagine the Sports science team are working on getting his physique up to Premier league standard so interested to see how he does.

The FA Cup too, it'd be nice to progress in that and look at getting silverware. Ranieri said pre season the club do want more silverware in the cups, so hopefully we can do that in whatever competition that may be. I'm quite confident in our 'second team' to be honest. We have a lot of strength in depth with quality options. I would love to see us have a bit of a cup run in any or preferably all of the competitions we are in this season strongest team possible but obviously lots of resting of main players etc for this next weeks games we should have the strength in depth I would hope
STUHILL Posted 17 September 2016 Posted 17 September 2016 I have no problem with Claudio completely changing the team for this one. It's a risk but I am desperate to see players like Musa, Gray, Kaputska etc get 90 minutes to show what they can do. It's a shame it is Chelsea, as It's a team i really want to beat, but we have to keep players happy and match fit and this cup is the perfect opportunity for that. I expect many changes with Ulloa and Okazaki to start upfront and Kaputska, Gray and Musa to all get valuable playing time. I think Chelsea will be fairly strong as they aren't in Europe and Conte will see this as a chance to win his first Cup.
Gerard Posted 17 September 2016 Posted 17 September 2016 I agree with Stuhill that it would have been nice to get an easier draw and give our squad players more game time with a better chance of progression. I'd like to see Musa playing in the Vardy role and our young talented squad players like Chilwell, Kapustka and Gray get 90 mins. Musa Okazaki Schlupp Kapustka King Gray Chilwell Wasilewski Benalouane Hernandez Zieler That still leaves Ulloa and Mendy (play him if fit) who aren't in this side and who didn't start today.
Mjeb Posted 17 September 2016 Posted 17 September 2016 Plenty of tickets left for the game , went an collected 2 tickets on this week , I could choose tickets almost any where ? Chelsea have sold there allocation out .
Harry - LCFC Posted 17 September 2016 Posted 17 September 2016 It'll be all change of course, except Zieler probably, and I'm ok with that. It's still a decent side and I know they'll take it seriously. Certainly don't agree that this competition doesn't matter. Remember we beat West Ham this time last year when they picked a stronger side than us, so don't give up on this one too soon.
treer Posted 17 September 2016 Posted 17 September 2016 Hope Kante puts in an appearance, I for one will give him a warm round of boos.

Spicer Posted 17 September 2016 Posted 17 September 2016 A chance for our fringe players to make a mark. James and Mendy being injured complicates matters in central midfield. I for one will not boo Kante, he is one of the main reasons we achieved one of the greatest sporting achievements of all time. Ziegler Hernandez Benny Wayl Chilwell Gray King Kapustka Schlupp Okazaki Musa
adejo92 Posted 17 September 2016 Posted 17 September 2016 I would hope to see Kaputska play a part in this match. Although Leicester have bigger fish to fry this season i feel fielding a real weaker team against Chelsea, who will likely field a strong team, may end badly. Would hate for the confidence in the dressing room to be affected by a 3-0 smash by Chelsea, even if it is 'only' this cup....Having said that, Leicester's 'reserve' team isn't exactly weak!
Izzy Posted 17 September 2016 Posted 17 September 2016 1 hour ago, treer said: Hope Kante puts in an appearance, I for one will give him a warm round of boos. He'll have conveniently "picked up a knock" against Liverpool but will make a miraculous recovery for their game next weekend I would imagine. Or dropped, or rested, or some other excuse. Will be very surprised if he plays.

Bernieboots76 Posted 17 September 2016 Posted 17 September 2016 I expect there to be changes but I hope not the complete 11 we have to go into it with a strong starting 11 maybe not the strongest but one in which we know that we can compete with Chelsea and progress to the next round. Chilwel for Fuchs would be one change worth considering as well as wasilewski for Morgan maybe instead of Huth and Hernandez for Simpson. in midfield King for Drinkwater leave Amartey in there and you could take out Albrighton and Mahrez for any of these three Kapustka, Schlupp and Gray But I would leave the front two as they were just so that they can build up that partnership a little more and have options on the bench in case we go into a strong lead. There is no point playing these matches if we don't give ourselves a fighting chance and I think if we were to play something along the lines that I've listed we've got a chance.
FuchingKante Posted 17 September 2016 Posted 17 September 2016 Really hope Ulloa gets a full game, he deserves it
Sionnach gorm Posted 17 September 2016 Posted 17 September 2016 Tend to agree with most here. I wouldn't overburden the first team. Most of the suggestions here are quite good and reasonable.
TheMightySystem Posted 17 September 2016 Posted 17 September 2016 Zieler Hernandez, Moore , Wasil, Chilwell Gray, Mendy/Barnes/King, Kapustka, Schlupp Okazaki, Musa Musa needs to start and Ulloa can come on after Okazaki has ran them raggid. Have heard good things about Moore on here so I would play him to allow Hernandez to play RB, giving Simpson rest. If fit Mendy to start, if not wouldn't mind giving Barnes a start, seems to have played well recently for the U23. Edit: Forgot about King who could play in midfield
Guest CityFan 06 Posted 17 September 2016 Posted 17 September 2016 Could of course see Schlupp feature in this which just occurred to me. Great options to choose from.
lcfcben76 Posted 17 September 2016 Posted 17 September 2016 Chance to experiment and maybe play a 3 at the back?? Chelsea won't be expecting it. Zieler . Hernandez. Wasyl benalouane Kaputska (RWB) Mendy (if fit) king Jeff(LWB . Gray . Musa Ulloa/shinj
