GazzinderFox Posted 18 September 2016 Posted 18 September 2016 Are there any kids in the under 21s pushing for a game at right back, centre back or centre mid?
Devonfox1884 Posted 18 September 2016 Posted 18 September 2016 Zieler Simpson Hernandez Wasilewski Chilwell Gray Mendy King Schlupp Okazaki Musa I reckon we'll lose 2-1, Kingy with ours.

Darnell Johnson was playing quite well at right back I think. Elliott Moore at centre half. Don't think there's anyone at centre mid though

Bob Weasel Fox Posted 18 September 2016 Posted 18 September 2016 Strongest "second string" possible please lets win this thing
Durnerz Posted 18 September 2016 Posted 18 September 2016 Can't believe I'm actually going to be in attendance! Zieler Simpson Hernandez Wasyl Chilwell Gray King Amartey Schlupp Musa Okazaki

If Kasper is in any danger of being out again at the weekend, no point in risking Zieler.

I think with it being Chelsea Ranieri will stick with an experienced pair of gloves.
STUHILL Posted 18 September 2016 Posted 18 September 2016 Any news on the fitness of Mendy? Be surprised if he starts as not a game we should risk him in, if not 100%. Be interesting to see how many changes are made. We will probably need Drinkwater to be involved if we want to win and there is no Mendy. Shows why we were so desperate to sign an extra CM in the window.
Ric Flair Posted 18 September 2016 Posted 18 September 2016 Zieler Hernandez Wasyl Fuchs Chilwell Gray King Mendy Kaputska Musa Slimani Subs: Schlupp, Vardy, Ulloa, Huth, Hamer, Okazaki, Amartey
Dr The Singh Posted 18 September 2016 Posted 18 September 2016 I would like to see King being given a run out
ajthefox Posted 18 September 2016 Posted 18 September 2016 Chelsea are there for the taking imo. Some shoddy defending against Liverpool and only just managed to win their first two. Be interesting to see how we cope with the snake and vice versa.
adejo92 Posted 18 September 2016 Posted 18 September 2016 Predictions for the Leicester line up are all looking very similar in what will be an incredibly strong 'reserve' team. Any body want to field a guess at Chelsea's starting 11 for this game? Begovic Azpilicueta Cahill Luiz Alonso Willian Kante Fabregas Hazard Batshuayi Moses With a loss to Liverpool and no European commitments i would think Chelsea will want to win this game and therefore field a strong team.
Sionnach gorm Posted 19 September 2016 Posted 19 September 2016 We certainly have more depth this year than last. As I said before all the suggestions seem quite good.
urban.spaceman Posted 19 September 2016 Posted 19 September 2016 Really want to see Kapustka get a chance, seems like an exciting prospect.

Centre back could be suspect, but we should still be strong enough to get a result. Incredible when you think about it really.
STUHILL Posted 19 September 2016 Posted 19 September 2016 Zieler Simpson Hernandez Wasyl Chillwel Gray King Mendy (if fit) or Amartey Kaputska Musa Okazaki Ulloa and Schlupp (if fit) to get 30mins too if possible. Really want to see Mendy if possible and also excited to see how well Kaputska can do. Musa hopefully looks lively and can get a goal. We pretty much know what we will get from the rest. Chelsea have Arsenal away on Saturday so I don't think they will be full strength either, although I still think they will take some beating. I think a lot of these players will be wanting to prove a point though and try and force their way into our starting 11, so I'm hoping for high energy and a hunger to win. Wasyl will need to have a good game for us to keep it tight at the back.
st albans fox Posted 19 September 2016 Posted 19 September 2016 Apart from Claudio stating that mendy and Jeff are 'close', is there any hard evidence of them being back in full training yet?
dhermon Posted 19 September 2016 Posted 19 September 2016 Surely Simpson is rested he just had a hamstring strain and we all panicked about the lack of cover for RB yet your all willing to risk him in a silly cup game knowing we need our best players to be fully fit for the Man Utd game For me Simpson is out for this game as its an area we really lack proper cover for
foxinsox Posted 19 September 2016 Posted 19 September 2016 The regulars didn't look too exhausted at the end on Saturday, indeed seemed to be enjoying themselves. Claudio will want to put on a good show against a fragile Chelsea, and also keep up the momentum. On the other hand we have some excellent reserves. Chilwell and Hernandez deserve a start. That long throw may be handy. Gray too, Okazaki and Musa. I don't think Chelsea have got to grips with Kante, their defence has been poor. Midfield Chelsea are class, So will be tough there. Getting past Kante will be key. Some speedy wingers please.
Captain... Posted 19 September 2016 Posted 19 September 2016 If it is not a complete reserve 11, which I expect it to be, I would like to see a formation change. See how we get on with a midfield 3. Drinkwater, Amartey and King/Kaputska. Then the forwards/wide players from Musa, Gray, Slim, Shinji, Ulloa, Schlupp. No point changing the formation and only using the reserves. The back four will contain Chilwell and Hernandez, but I think they need at least one of Morgan and Huth in there, for either to develop they need to be playing with first teamers not just reserves. That partly depends on where Ranieri sees Hernandez playing, CB or RB. I also don't like a complete reserve side being used as it sends out the wrong message, we will need to use the whole squad this season and not just a first 11 like last season. Zieler Hernandez Morgan Huth Chilwell Drinkwater Amartey Kaputska/King Musa Gray Slimani Kaputska/ King pushing forwards to join the attack. Musa and Gray as wide forwards, could be a 4231 with Slimani the focal point of the attack. Ulloa on for Slim after 60 mins maybe run outs for Schlupp and Mendy if they are fit.
foxy boxing Posted 19 September 2016 Posted 19 September 2016 I can see it being a completely different side but I would play a few first teamers, I think maybe chillwell in for fuchs and give kapustka a go and have musa play from the start to see what he can do. whoever plays will want a good performance to get themselves a starting place in the first team
les-tah Posted 19 September 2016 Posted 19 September 2016 id go.. Musa-Ulloa/Shinji Kapustka - king - (Have we even got another fit CM without using normal 11) - Gray Chilwell - Was - Benny - Hernandez Ziela

Kapustka can also play there, and if jeff is fit we could pair him with King.
norwichfox Posted 19 September 2016 Posted 19 September 2016 I would prefer that we didn't win this game, as much as I'd like to see us p155 on Judas Kante's reputation. Spurs comes to mind with their "over commitment" of games and probably left it too late to be "suicidal" in Europe and consequently led to their bottling it at the end of the season. If we win our next 2 league games, we will have a 1 point better start after 7 games than last season. I'd much prefer to see us win those 2 games than progress in a this years League Cup, it's not as though we haven't won it several times, I view the FA Cup much more of a priority.
