Vindaloo FOX Posted 24 September 2016 Posted 24 September 2016 learn to defend corners and play 4-3-3 . problem solved anyone agree ?
StanSP Posted 24 September 2016 Posted 24 September 2016 4-3-3/4-5-1 away from home. 4-4-2 just does not work when the defence/Drinkwater doesn't have an engine like Kante protecting them/assisting him.
Sampson Posted 24 September 2016 Posted 24 September 2016 The 3-4-1-2 we played during the great escape I think is the formation that most suits us.

Tuna Posted 24 September 2016 Posted 24 September 2016 4-3-3...where do you play Vardy, wide? Not gonna work unless you put Slim wide. Where does Albrighton go?
MurphyMagic Posted 24 September 2016 Posted 24 September 2016 I'm struggling to comprehend why 4-4-2 was used today when from the first two away games it clearly does not work without Kante when facing quality opposition (and Hull).
EnglishOxide Posted 24 September 2016 Posted 24 September 2016 ------Gray------Slimani------Mahrez------ --------Mendy----Drinky---Amartey----- -Fuchs--Morgan--Huth--Simpson- --------------------Kasper-------------- It just means there's gonna be a lot of unhappy players on the bench.
Vindaloo FOX Posted 24 September 2016 Author Posted 24 September 2016 i feel we have some real quality wingers, would like to see them up the field more. yes Vardy and Slim will not be on the pitch together but i'm ok with that, we can rotate . plus this gives us a extra man in the middle of the park and after Kante leaving we all know we need another man in the middle.
Strokes Posted 24 September 2016 Posted 24 September 2016 Yeah it's clear we are not capable of 4-4-2 without a kante type player in the middle. Ranieri needs to come up with a new plan/shape. Away from home we have been so poor this season.
foxes21 Posted 24 September 2016 Posted 24 September 2016 Mendy could make 4-4-2 work but we don't know yet

Tuna Posted 24 September 2016 Posted 24 September 2016 Our transfer policy was built around 4-4-2. The Don won't change it.
filbertway Posted 24 September 2016 Posted 24 September 2016 4 4 2 is absolutely fine against weaker teams, but we're coming unstuck against better teams. 4 3 3 is clearly a must against stronger teams though. Also can we have Vardy up top if we're playing a lone striker. Slimani's hold up play is good but when we're looking to counter he just kills our attacks.
matty98 Posted 24 September 2016 Posted 24 September 2016 Still don't think we're good enough at retaining possession to play a 433. That second half Man Utd weren't playing with anywhere near the same tempo as the first half so wouldn't use that as an example of it working.
foxes_rule1978 Posted 24 September 2016 Posted 24 September 2016 442 at home against mediocre sides works we know that, what we have to realise is it just doesn't work away against the elite teams, we are getting embarrassed. But it isn't just that, basic defending seems to have gone out the window as well, 3 goals conceded from corners just is ridiculous.
Rasmic123 Posted 24 September 2016 Posted 24 September 2016 Gray Vardy Mahrez Mendy King Drinky Fuchs Huth Morgan Simpson Kasper That would be my team for the big games, Vardy has to play regardless. Bones of contention are the King role, could play Okazaki there if he did his defensive duties. Also, feel like we have to drop either Huth or Morgan (Huth likely) as they have not been playing at all well. Dont know who for though, we dont exactly have the greatest backup in that position
foxes21 Posted 24 September 2016 Posted 24 September 2016 4-3-3 we will lose our directness. 4-4-2 vs the weaker teams, 3-4-1-2 or 4-3-1-2 against the stronger teams.
kingfox Posted 24 September 2016 Posted 24 September 2016 Another knee-jerk reaction by some fans. 4-4-2 will work in some games it won't in others, 4-3-3 is the way forward against the likes of Man Utd, Liverpool, Man City, Arsenal & Spurs.
lgfualol Posted 24 September 2016 Posted 24 September 2016 4-3-3 away from home and against strong teams at home 4-4-2 for easier home games Conceding 12 against Man U, Liverpool and Chelsea is not good. Something needs to change.
dylanlegend Posted 24 September 2016 Posted 24 September 2016 It think we may see 4-5-1 more this season which is a shame cos 3-5-2 has always suited us: GK: Kasper CB Huth CB Morgan CB Fuchs RWB Albrighton LWB Schlupp CM Drinky CM Mendy AMC Mahrez CF Vardy CF Slimani

Not sure why people are thinking playing 2 attacking wingers in the answer to improve our leaky defence. Mahrez and Gray aren't the wingers you want on to pack your midfield, it would very much be 4-3-3 pretty much permanently and not 4-5-1 out of possession.

Unless there's an injury crisis, I'd rather he doesn't play.

Give Claudio a ring and suggest it, because he's the bloke that needs know.
