It's really not - it'll be 442 as you perfectly well know it will be.

I was not saying what it will be I was saying what it must be to get the best chance of success!

We said that before the West Brom and Watford games.

Yeah but buddy, your glass isn't even half empty - its been taken from you in a burglary, then held to ransom and smashed in front of you and the shards used to scar your heart.

You should get a new glass and try to fill it three quarters of the way up at least!

Well I think your time would be better spent filling in the 442 team sheet!

Or we'll smash them 4-0 and you won't have to take those pills anymore!

Has a team ever been awarded 4 penalties in a game before?

Ok, this suggestion is out of left field, so bear with me on this one.

We have a severe lack of midfield options right now. So its difficult to change to a 3 in the middle, even if we wanted to (which Claudio doesnt look like he does).

He would be in at the deep end, but would a possible short term answer be to give Hamza Choudhury a little run out in the team? Hes match fit, and has been playing at a good level at Burton. So its not a case that hes going to be bullied and dominated, hes routinely been coming up against experienced, decent pros.

In a midfield 3, i think it would take some pressure off him too. Less tactical awareness and positioning if Amartey could play a steady shielding role in front of the back 4, to release Hamza to win the ball back with good energy high up the pitch, but act as that third body in there defensively when needing to drop in.

I dont know if theres even an option to bring him back, but i think its a decent short term idea that could give us an extra option until we can buy someone whos the finished article maybe?

Would also give him valuable game time at a stage of the season that isnt critical yet.

Its just a thought and probably a shit one.

You can't  bring back from a season long loan and he's not been playing anyway

I'd give Fuchs and Simpson a game off.

I'd also drop Albrighton as he's offering nothing currently, time for others to have a chance and maybe try Mahrez in the number 10

GK - Zieler

RB - Hernandez

LB - Schlupp (Looked sharp there against Watford)

CB - Huth

CB - Morgan

DM - Amartey

DM - King

RW - Gray

LW - Musa

AM (10) - Mahrez

CF - Slimani

But you keep King in? Albrighton has been poor, but at least tries to pass forward and won us a penalty against Brugge, what has king done in the last year??? I know we are short on options but King shouldnt be an option for the champions of England.

Think "interchanging" is what we need to do. If our forward-going players are more fluid then they will disconcert the defenders,  give more passing options from our midfield/defence, and will be more likely to pick the ball up on the run and in a bit of space, thus speeding up our attacks, rather than while static and easy for their defence to press.

We have just the players too. Musa, Gray, Mahrez: but also Jeff, Vardy, Kapuska. It seems to me to be a better utilisation of our numerous wingers.

An added bonus - we would be keeping possession longer and it would be easier to regain possession from hasty, panicky clearances caused by our fast and direct attacks. This would, to some extent, paper over the cracks in our midfield.

Sounds a good theory - but what do I know.

Right at this moment in time I find your judgement of King totally wrong. He's not an option for us but automatic first choice. It seems CR will have it no other way.

This will be the team on saturday. I'm stating this team in complete and utter apprehension that I'm totally wrong.

I hope its not this team selection, I hope Ranieri makes changes for Hernandez, Musa, Grey where applicable.

I've never made a prematch selection before but as Claudio clearly needs my help and changes obviously need to be made so here goes.

     Hernandez Morgan Fuchs

Really don't want to be losing this one....

Let's go with the formation that got us out of the last bad run we were on, at least until we've got some confidence back:

                   Zieler

    Morgan Hernandes Huth

Albrighton Amartey King Fuchs

                  Mahrez

          Okazaki   Slimani

Once we've got Schmeichel, Drinkwater and Mendy/James back, I think that looks strong- width and crosses provided from deep, more compact with greater numbers in our most vulnerable areas, more fluidity with Mahrez given a free role to drift wide (and providing the current missing link between midfield and attack), strikers chasing from the front with Okazaki dropping deep, so basically a 5-4-1 when defending, 3-4-1-2 when attacking.

My exact line up too.

Absolutely no faith in this, but we can't be much worse than we have been.

How about trying Albrighton in a midfield 3 ? Could be a good link between the lines

                       Zieler

Simpson  Morgan  Huth  Fuchs

                       Amartey

                   King    Albrighton

Mahrez                               Musa

                         Slimani

To be honest I'm just really hoping that we see at least 1 notable change in the line up when this team is announced. Just a sign of acknowledgement from Claudio that he isn't happy with our performances so far and that he IS willing to adapt accordingly.

I use to get pissed off at pearson for waiting till the 70/80th minute to make a change if it wasn't working, now I'm waiting SEVERAL  games.

I never thought there could be a more stubborn, set in his ways kind of manager- than our Nigel..

So here's hoping ranieri proves that's the case this week and returns to being the tinker man.

And why is it that whenever we concede or lose and the camera focuses on Claudio, I genuinely feel sorry for the man? No anger or frustration, just pity.

Maybe it's the champions thing which has made me sentimental for him but he genuinely seems to be hurting too.

Then as soon as he's out my sight I'm mad as batsh1t again.

We should really change it up for this

The way Ranieri sets the team out can only be the foundation. We played 4-4-2 all last season and it won us the title. What's missing now is the hunger to succeed, that insatiable collective will to win - in terms of making that important tackle, crossing the ball precisely, shooting with accuracy etc - that saw us through so many games last season, especially all those 1-0s in the spring.

You can't turn on form and confidence like a tap, but, like everything in life, the harder you try, the more likely you are to succeed. Our players are good enough (at least those who played for us last season are) because they proved it. Repeatedly. But this season (Champions League excepted) the desire just isn't there, and it's infected everyone in the team. That has to change. And quickly.

You never know, though, that late Slimani pen v Boro might just be the turning point (the way Andy King's goal v West Ham was in the great escape). Let's hope the players believe it is - that could be half the battle.

LCFC have to counteract other teams playing an attacking V formation. Our system is chaotic.

Sunderalnd will play extremely defensively. But I guess they will come straight out to attack for an early goal.

They contained Liverpool for 45 minutes. We didn't.

Against Sunderland I would play

1

5

4

1

City have to be disciplined, organised. Defend. The way to win the game is a with aheader to Slim from an accurate Marhez /Albrighton cross.

I've got a good feeling about this, I may be a singular person in thinking that but I think we'll do alright.
