SpinneyHillRanger Posted 8 December 2016 Posted 8 December 2016 The players are a complete disgrace. Apart from schmeichel, king, drinky most of them rarely show any love to the fans. To be honest, the whole lot of them deserve to be relegated and have a huge wage drop. The Thais need to start panicking and sacking some of these sacks of shit

True but that shouldn't take away from the fact that he was poor today. He was literally ambling about when we were defending. I know Chilwell was very poor but he didn't exactly get any help from the two donkeys in front (Schlupp and Gray). Ranieri had to stick Okazaki wide at one point because Gray obviously couldn't be arsed to do his f***ing job. Second half was marginally better because I'd imagine Ranieri stuck a rocket up his arse at half time. But applauding the fans doesn't exempt him from not doing his job properly.
Munshi Posted 8 December 2016 Posted 8 December 2016 Compare them to the Copanhagen players at the KP, half of them gave their shirts to the away fans and stood there for about 10 minutes.
RonnieTodger Posted 8 December 2016 Posted 8 December 2016 It would make an example out of a hideous display. There have been other woeful performances, but this was a new low.
foxy boxing Posted 8 December 2016 Posted 8 December 2016 i'm sure all the fans fell short changed, maybe the owners can put on one or two free beers and pies again at some home games!
kingcarr21 Posted 8 December 2016 Posted 8 December 2016 Currently sat at Porto airport just trying to think of a positive. It really was abysmal. I also only saw Gray and Albrighton come to the fans and applaud. I felt embarrassed watching that. Fans started to leave once the 5th went in. I don't mind a heavy defeat as long as we at least try. No effort at all last night. Chilwells positioning is woeful. Constantly picking up Morgan's man and leaving space. Mendy I can forgive with it being his first game in weeks. Musa was terrible. The whole back 4 was woeful. Was only Ulloa and Albrighton who actually tried. Barnes did ok which is the only positive. I feel sorry for Copenhagen. They must b fuming we put such a poor team out. I feel sorry for every fan who went and spent a lot of money to be treated to such an inept performance

Why did they sack a 10mill+ player you ask? because they didnt show any love to the fans.... Grow up mate seriously.

Different footballing cultures though, players in the UK don't give a shit. Remember when everyone said it was "embarrassing" when Klopp took the team over to the Kop to applaud the fans? Football culture in the country is shite from the ground up.

Quite common abroad, why players over here have little or no regard for the fans I don't know. Maybe the foreign players are scared of their ultras and know they'll be trouble if they didn't show appreciation.

They lost the game and the players went straight down the tunnel. MNK96 stayed singing for them to clap the fans. The conversation at the end is this.
tomtom Posted 8 December 2016 Posted 8 December 2016 I ended up talking to TOP last night at Porto passport controls on the way home, thanked him for everything he's done for the club and especially giving us last season. He shook my hand, thanked me for travelling to support them and said he was "very sorry for tonight" He also got clapped through the airport by all the returning Leicester fans! The team however who were shortly behind seemed to completely blank everyone and walk through heads down... they had a few cheers at first, shouts of still champions etc but then a few boos and the odd shouthat of "we want our money back"

However, despite CR leaving us all a bit deflated it is no excuse for the effort that the players put in BUT we should remember that it is not that long ago we were traipsing round Hartlepool and the like!! The owners and CR have given us all something that we may never experience again and generations have not seen anything like - they deserve a bit of time to get it right and fix it - they have not let us down to date!! Always few idiots in my back shouting we want our money back and one small group did aim it at the owners which i was cringing through - 40+ years of highs and lows (that is being a football fan) and we need perspective here as the last 24 months have been a fans dream - i just had a day in a beautiful city, surrounded by fellow Leicester folk watching our football team.......yes, they played bloody dreadful but boy some of you have never lived if you believe this is the worst footballing experience - try Taylor, Bassett, Holloway, Hamilton, Pleat, Lee, Levein, Kelly, Worthington et al ....they were proper dark times this is just a blip!! Thank you from most real Leicester Citys fans to our fabulous owners and our top drawer manager now get the lads focused and prove that we have a bit more about us than the experts would love to gloat over!!!
hamptonfox Posted 8 December 2016 Posted 8 December 2016 I was at Porto airport too when Top was applauded, and then when players walked by us on first floor the fans largely blanked them. (Not much positive or negative fan noise, a bit of "we want our money back" that's all). I do support my team through good and bad and that entitles to me be proud and tearful with joy when we achieve great things, and tell stories of great deeds of my team to my family, work colleagues, and others. It it also entitles me to be unhappy when my team is rubbish and when I want some form of change, for the club to get the most out of our players. I have to defend the cost of supporting my club and using holiday to travel to Porto etc, to my wife, when I arrive back home at 5am, to her "what a waste of time" comment. I have no comeback, it was a waste of time and money. I could have spent it, with, and on, my family. I feel embarrassed by my sides performances this year, as much as I felt, proud last year. It's my right to say this. I do think the club should refund the fans who have wasted their time, this week, the match ticket cost. It's less than 10% of the overall cost the fans spent getting there and back. it's not the refund or the cash, it's the symbolism of accepting that this performance (added to the other rubbish we have been watching from pre-season onwards), is not acceptable. It's a marker to the fans, players etc, that this cannot continue. Im not surprised we lost, What is so aggravating is it is so predictable. The collective and co-ordinated effort the players put in, is not like last season. Anyone can see it, and it's right as fans to say this. There is no teamwork to our play without the ball, just random acts by Drinky, and a few others, through a game, that most teammates do not back up, so the ball isn't turned over to Leicester, and our opposition easily retains it. Thats why we concede so many chances, and lose games. when we have the ball, we lack any idea of what to do with it, we have few slick and quick moves, that don't break down after one pass, or meander into slow predictable passage of play that are easy for opponents to defend. That's why we score less, and lose. its down to the players - all of them- to sort their on field performances out, collectively. Band of Brothers, all for one, one for all, or don't play for Leicester, go somewhere else. Its down to the coaches and manager to make it happen, to motivate, cajole, and drive the players to a place where 2015-16 teamwork ethic exists, and Leicester is a place where people want to come, to work hard, play hard, and achieve the maximum you can in your career. if they don't then they leave, it's how football life operates. They leave, we don't. It's usually manager first then players. I hope it doesn't come to this, but its down to them, not the fans. The fans are allowed to express their joy and pain. Not to bottle it up. Expression shows you care, bottling it up, shows that you are willing to suck up any old sh@t.
Countesthorpe Fox 1884 Posted 8 December 2016 Posted 8 December 2016 This is one of the things Ive noticed more this season, Some players can't seem to be bothered to applaud fans who have given their time to support the team. Vardy had to make half the team come over at Watford to applaud the fans.
hamptonfox Posted 8 December 2016 Posted 8 December 2016 I am not as fussed about being applauded, as others. I don't want applauding, I would rather have something to applaud. I am looking for some honesty from the players, coaches and manager, that they are getting it wrong, it's their fault, and they are going to put it right. That would be better than clapping the fans. I don't want players thinking that they are allowed to play crap - as long as they clap.
adejo92 Posted 8 December 2016 Posted 8 December 2016 At the end of the day this team was just a team full of rejects that happened to somehow pull together and win the PL when every usual candidate failed to perform. Now we are back to reality. We seem to be that hung up in glory that we forget why we were 5000/1.

Vardy, an England international, come on!

In fact I'm going to take my city shirt back, my city gnomes and the programme I bought 6 years ago. Get over it. We lost. We were crap. We have been for at least half the time I've supported city. Its called football. I take it you weren't there last night. A lot of fans, me included have spent hundreds of pounds going to all 3 away CL matches, taken time off work as well, if we had known back in September that for the final game he would play a second team with a debut to a young lad as well I'd have thought twice about paying out to watch them bend over from the off. FA cup away to Everton will be just the same. It's not on that they don't care about the game and give it their all when we have spent so much and then have to watch that turd of a performance. So you can take your city gnome and shove it where the sun doesn't shine laddo. As for back at Oporto airport, they should be ashamed of themselves walking through, lucky for them they were up out the way and not at the gates with us, one things for certain, we will still be following the club long after they've all left and moved on. sylofox Posted 8 December 2016 Posted 8 December 2016 I have never booed a player I have only ever booed Pleat. I was one of few on here that backed NP in our great escape. Said all along we would do it after spuds and we did. I wanted to cry for our fans last night. Most give up everything for our club. Last night our players kicked them in the face. NP would have dragged everyone of them to the fans. Sorry CR last season was the best ever but last night. You and our players disrespected us all. I have never said this about anyone but Pleat but you need to go. this season is one of our worst ever. After last season we should not be where we are. To be honest you offer me no hope please go. Let us all remember you for last season. Not the relegation you are going to give us.
