Worse defeats??

I'm trying to think of a Leicester defeat that is more embarrassing than tonight .

...and I'm  struggling.

Any ideas?

Remember this was on a global stage.

We've had worse. We were awful but in context we had qualified for the Champions League last 16 already. I'm not happy but it wasn't significant in the bigger picture. Am trying to find a positive  :(

This will never be forgotten though no one will remember or care that we fielded second string team.

Or topped the group.

Newcastle away in the 90's has to be up there, can't remember the score off the top of my head, but was heavy.

7-1 Andy Cole scoring most of them.

i will never forget the 5-0 humiliation at home to newly promoted bolton for our first home game of the season - it was clear as a bell then that we were going straight to hell and the embarassment of that wycombe defeat a few months earlier from the previous season still hung heavy.

However shockingly wank we were tonight, you have to remember it was still a Champions League game against a European regular. Not sure you can compare it to the likes of Wycombe.

We're had worst defeats (not many) but nothing so embarrassingly high profile. Champions of England suffering the heaviest loss any English team has had in Champion's League history.  If our PL form hasn't made us a laughing stock, this definitely will do. No ones going to care that this was a largely reserve team with a few development players thrown in.

Can you believe that game was my first game and I was hooked forever after that?

Agreed. Tonight was embarrassing but having had some time to reflect it was nowhere near as bad as the Forest 5-1 or 5-0 home defeats to Villa and Bolton.

Preston away Easter Tuesday late 70s. Freezing cold, pissed down all night, they couldn't be arsed and lost 4-0. Still got a huge we're proud of you chant at the end but at least that lot looked embarrassed when they trudged off with no thanks or return applause

  1. WORST performance by any English team in a CL match - ever
  2. WORST start to a season for any defending champions in the EPL

if i am the Thai Owners - i ll be using siamese black  magick...or just sack the Director of Football and/or gaffer

We'll probably never play in the CL again,  so each match should have been treated as a VERY special occasion.... So what do we do?.... Embarrass ourselves on the biggest stage in World football by fielding THAT team!

Unforgiveable Ranieri!

Embarrass ourselves? C'mon people. We earned the right to "embarrass ourselves" by winning the group with a game to go. Such an embarrassment that.

We're not doing well in the league. It only made sense to field that team.
