ultrafox Posted 7 December 2016 Posted 7 December 2016 I'm trying to think of a Leicester defeat that is more embarrassing than tonight . ...and I'm struggling. Any ideas? Remember this was on a global stage.
FoyleFox Posted 7 December 2016 Posted 7 December 2016 We've had worse. We were awful but in context we had qualified for the Champions League last 16 already. I'm not happy but it wasn't significant in the bigger picture. Am trying to find a positive
boots60 Posted 8 December 2016 Posted 8 December 2016 Tonight was one of the worst, but Harlow town was embarrasing beyond belief.
Monsell1976 Posted 8 December 2016 Posted 8 December 2016 Newcastle away in the 90's has to be up there, can't remember the score off the top of my head, but was heavy.
ultrafox Posted 8 December 2016 Author Posted 8 December 2016 This will never be forgotten though no one will remember or care that we fielded second string team. Or topped the group.
TJB-fox Posted 8 December 2016 Posted 8 December 2016 Forest n Portsmouth away in recent years were pretty diabolical

AYLESBURY FOX 1961 Posted 8 December 2016 Posted 8 December 2016 i will never forget the 5-0 humiliation at home to newly promoted bolton for our first home game of the season - it was clear as a bell then that we were going straight to hell and the embarassment of that wycombe defeat a few months earlier from the previous season still hung heavy.
Larry_LCFC Posted 8 December 2016 Posted 8 December 2016 However shockingly wank we were tonight, you have to remember it was still a Champions League game against a European regular. Not sure you can compare it to the likes of Wycombe.
sm1 Posted 8 December 2016 Posted 8 December 2016 We're had worst defeats (not many) but nothing so embarrassingly high profile. Champions of England suffering the heaviest loss any English team has had in Champion's League history. If our PL form hasn't made us a laughing stock, this definitely will do. No ones going to care that this was a largely reserve team with a few development players thrown in.
China Black Posted 8 December 2016 Posted 8 December 2016 This defeat is the worst as it is on the highest stage, and the performance was a disgrace to our status as Champions of England!!!
filbertuk Posted 8 December 2016 Posted 8 December 2016 Agree with Melrose... Harlow in particular. Nearly 40 years ago - blimey!

Tonight was embarrassing but having had some time to reflect it was nowhere near as bad as the Forest 5-1 or 5-0 home defeats to Villa and Bolton.
WestMids Rich Posted 8 December 2016 Posted 8 December 2016 Preston away Easter Tuesday late 70s. Freezing cold, pissed down all night, they couldn't be arsed and lost 4-0. Still got a huge we're proud of you chant at the end but at least that lot looked embarrassed when they trudged off with no thanks or return applause
erlee Posted 8 December 2016 Posted 8 December 2016 WORST performance by any English team in a CL match - ever WORST start to a season for any defending champions in the EPL worry yet? if i am the Thai Owners - i ll be using siamese black magick...or just sack the Director of Football and/or gaffer
weller54 Posted 8 December 2016 Posted 8 December 2016 We'll probably never play in the CL again, so each match should have been treated as a VERY special occasion.... So what do we do?.... Embarrass ourselves on the biggest stage in World football by fielding THAT team! Unforgiveable Ranieri! Unforgiveable!!
Koke Posted 8 December 2016 Posted 8 December 2016 Portsmouth putting 6 past us under Paolo Sousa couple of urars ago was pretty bad.

We earned the right to "embarrass ourselves" by winning the group with a game to go. Such an embarrassment that. We're not doing well in the league. It only made sense to field that team.
Ashley Posted 8 December 2016 Posted 8 December 2016 Portsmouth 6 Leicester 1 Notts Forest 5 Leicester 1 Porto 5 Leicester 0
Nick Posted 8 December 2016 Posted 8 December 2016 Any time we have ever lost a game of football that mattered?
Aus Fox Posted 8 December 2016 Posted 8 December 2016 Leicester 0- 5 Bolton first game of the season. As I remember Bolton were favourites for relegation that season.
