Gray, Selfish or not ?

Recommended Posts

He worked hard enough and possible took a chance when he could have done something else but after the wonder goal at OT he's still got some credit IMO. I've never criticised a player for taking a shot, not ever.

At least he actually runs at players and shoots.

King only passes back, Albrighton just loses the ball whenever he has it and Mahrez tries to beat too many players.

Was ok first half missing second. And there were times when he would've passed rather than shot. He's gonna be a good player and he'll learn about decision making

Positive player but yes I do think he's too selfish. Tries to shoot every time he gets into a decent position. Fair enough every other time or 1 in 3 but not every time. It rubs off on the rest of the team when he's being selfish and the strikers were getting frustrated.

Hes a good player but I think a lot on here are overestimating his talent. He won't have a season near the level or Mahrez last season

Gray will leave as soon as he has a sniff of interest from another premier league club.

Every time he comes on he performs yet will always be dropped. Today he started and looked our only hope of a goal yet was substituted. Ranieri is absolutely hammering his confidence.

Will be a shame when we loose him, which we will.

He reminds me of a raw Ronaldo. Now before everyone jumps on my back, Im not suggesting Gray will be one of the best players in the world but simply that he reminds me of him. Pacy, undoubted skill, self confidence in his ability but yes, selfish. He did a bit of skill where he went away from two players and ran at their defence and a rop player crosses it to Slimani who made a great run and was in space at the back post but he decided to shoot. Again, that self confidence he has to shoot from long range is there because he has scored plenty for Birmingham and the odd one from us in similar situations. However, it must infuriate his team mates. Slimani went mental at him today and I remember Gray racing through on the season opener and had an easy ball to Vardy to almost tap in but again he went greedy.

The problem is we cant play two strikers, Gray and Mahrez. Its too lightweight in midfield. Im looking forward to Gray having a run in the side with Mahrez away on AFCON duty as the lad needs a run in the side and he will create chances and score goals without the aid of his team mates which is something we lack this season.

Gray don't get away with zero blame, as though he's some kind of superstar, playing in a shite side.

I said in the close season, his final ball is rubbish. And with a few exceptions, it is.

He has a lot of work to do before he can claim to be anything special. The raw talent is there. But it's well off being honed.

One of the reasons we looked dangerous. But, he was the reason we didn't score at least one goal in the first half. He was a "me first " player and that hurts the team. He took 3 long shots instead of passing the ball to a teammate. And I think that was of the reasons Claudio did not start him a lot.

Selfish? Yes. Wasteful? Yes. The only attacker who looked remotely capable of getting the ball and making their defenders do something vaguely strenuous? Yes.

It says more about the rest that his display was the only bright spot.

Don't care if he is selfish, he creates chances for himself. Let's have a look at all the other chances players made for themselves, er, none. Okazaki had a chance to play Gray in but can't kick a ball. Vardy was in the defenders' pockets like he has been this entire season. Albrighton's nose is more dangerous than his feet.

Can we close this idiotic thread?

A thread created to single out the one player who put in effort and even attempted to create an attacking opportunity?

Fcking joker!

Schlupp mark 2 in footballing brains.

Why the **** didn't he just pass to Vardy in the first-half?

Lots of effort, but very little end product.

Hopefully he will learn, but the bloke nearly walked into helicopter blades,so it may be a big ask.

Sometimes you need to have a player try and do something by himself but it was painful to see Vardy busting a gut to get into a good position only for Gray to constantly do it all

himself time after time today. One or two times fair enough but he did seem to get a bit carried away today.

Understand that he's a bit of a prima donna around training.

Slated for mentioning before since then I'm more convinced.

Imagine for a moment this may be true, this is a million miles away from the harmony we had last season.

Unfortunatly we have bad apples

Extremely selfish at times. After all his moaning on Twitter maybe he feels like he now has to make a huge impact now he's getting regular starts. It's good that he has the confidence and desire to have a go but definitely needs to get his head up more

Posted

Yeah he is, but if he looks up Vardy scores twice today, so he's doing the hard bit, he'll do well eventually but you can't defend him today for the selfishness.

He is selfish at times yes and was today but he was genuinely they only player that looked like he could do something with the ball so I'd lay off a bit. His selfishness is the least of our issues
