Nick Posted 2 March 2017 Posted 2 March 2017 He'll be in trouble shortly for this - you can voice opinion but when it starts reflecting awkwardly on your employer and has an air of distaste about it.......

What other fullbacks are as good and consistent as Simpson, defensively? He offers nothing going foward and that's a major problem as a full back. If you wanna park the bus and defend intelligently then Simpson > Walker. Simpson is far better at actually defending than Walker and Clyne.

tsintskaro Posted 2 March 2017 Posted 2 March 2017 its a ****ing joke when Danny Simpson is talking shit on internet about being defense player omg hilarious
TJB-fox Posted 2 March 2017 Posted 2 March 2017 From Simpson's point of view it's probably just letting off frustration culminated by the events in the past few months. It must be pretty damn annoying having knobheads like Carragher not only skating your footballing ability but also your attitude and dedication (especially to the manager.) Just trying to give some back isn't he, and by the looks of it it's worked. Carra seems really irked

foxinsocks Posted 2 March 2017 Posted 2 March 2017 Carragher is no more thsn an ex journey man footballer. ... his loyalty to liverpool lead to managers keeping him well beyond his sell by date.... to liverpools detriment. No wonder they never won the pl
Soar Fox Posted 2 March 2017 Posted 2 March 2017 Jamie Carragher the man who got the arse & retired from international football as he wasn't being picked. He then did a U turn once there was an injury crisis and knew he had a good chance of playing.
FoxesDeb Posted 2 March 2017 Posted 2 March 2017 Carragher is a past it, wasn't actually that great, has been cvnt. He's just bitter that Simpson is still in the now, and I think we should just leave him where he belongs. On the TV as a crap pundit, rather than on TV on MOTD like Simpson as a premier league winner.

Simpson might not be a regular player who drives into the oppositions half, but his defending in these two seasons has been top notch.Probably one of the better players also this season. Jan +Feb he did have some poor form, but with others around him, it wasnt suprising.
NotTheMarketLeader Posted 2 March 2017 Posted 2 March 2017 Let's hope he's not getting ahead of himself by putting his head above the parapet after one win. Foot off he gas and we will lose games. Foot off the gas and he has opened himself up to some fearful stick. Hopefully, this all means means the whole team will be 'flat to the boards' for the remainder of the season.

He was a meh player who thinks he was a world beater. He wouldn't have been anywhere near the United, Chelsea & Arsenal sides of the early to mid 2000s.

Rather have the Premier League title. It's a test over an entire season of 38 games to win the best league in the world, or the Champions League is what, a dozen games. Premier League for me any day.
Webbo Posted 4 March 2017 Posted 4 March 2017 From Carragher's column in the Mail today; Quote It turned out to be a lively day on Twitter for me on Wednesday after I became involved in a spat with Leicester defender Danny Simpson. I had heard Leicester's players were not happy with the column I wrote last week, when I said they should be embarrassed for the role they had played, on and off the pitch, in Claudio Ranieri's sacking. Things finished with Danny telling me, much to the delight of the Manchester United fans on social media, how I'd never lifted the Premier League! I didn't want to respond with anything about trophies, as you're never quite sure what those former United fringe players claim to have won. He wouldn't however, respond to one question I asked him: what happened with the meeting between the players and Leicester's owner in Seville? I'm still waiting for an answer. The Doctor Posted 4 March 2017 Posted 4 March 2017 Don't know why carragher is laying into Simpson for the sacking. There's a few players you can look at and question their attitude in recent months (drinkwater and Vardy come to mind), but Simpson, he'd not even be at the club but for Claudio (behind de laet then Albrighton at right back under Pearson) - seems like he'd be one of the last to be involved in any knifing of Claudio.
Blue ROI Posted 15 March 2017 Posted 15 March 2017 Simpson was top class last night. The best performance I can remember from his time with us.
Goober Posted 15 March 2017 Posted 15 March 2017 Absolutely top class defensively last night, continuously defending on the front foot in the first half and nicking it off their players, then very solid in the second. I liked how he got past Riyad a couple of times too... that run he went on was brilliant.
