Listening to the radio earlier to a Watford fan talking about how Taylor was such a legend for them and was genuinely upset at his death got me thinking that that's how we would react when the Birch passes away. Now a few hours later he is in hospital I'm sure he will pull through the absolute trooper. Every Leicester Fan will be wishing him a speedy recovery

I thought the exact same thing, I really hope he pulls through

Maybe for one night only we should change  it to 'Alan Birchenall's Blue and White Army' tomorrow.

They say the supporters are the only constant at a club but it seems like there's always been The Birch as well.

Nice idea. Did individual players have their own chants back in those days? If so what was Birch's?

I'm sure they did, just no idea what they were.

Get well Birch.

He's been a constant at this club for so long and clearly loves the club through and through, it's become his life, not forgetting all the good work he does. When clubs goes through great change as ours has done it needs these people to provide a link from the old and new, on the pitch, behind the scenes and publicly, the Birch carried this mantle with great pride and honour becoming a great embassader for the club. Hope to see him down there again soon.

As I said in the legends thread he is a true legend surprised no one mentioned him before me.

Common Birchy you got a run to do in may and at least one trophy to lift.

Get well soon Birch, he is a incredible person and is the heartbeat of our club for his work off the pitch.

Glenfield will get him back up to full speed in no time, my father works there.

Get well soon Alan, thankfully heart attacks are not as final as they used to be, I had one in 2000. I hope to hear good chants for him against Chelski.

Like most of us on here, Birch has been part of the club for my lifetime. Good to hear he seems to be stable.

I've always felt he does too much at times for someone of his age, but his love for the club means he is only happy to do whatever he can.

Get well soon.

They had to use the defib? That is really, really bad. Glenfield is amazing though so he's in the right place.

Not necessarily, he may have just had an arrhythmia which is a problem with heart rhythm which a defib can treat. Fingers crossed.

Sounds much better and on a positive there is another thread on here about City legends and he is truly one of them, really would be a nice touch for the club to do something at the game tomorrow. So here is hoping for continued positives.

Remember him being on the bench against Leic for Luton.

Warmed up carrying a large saw pretending to cut his less useful leg off! Whilst not doing that he was making swimming motions when running through puddles on the track.

As with many players adopted Leicester as ther home and the club as there team. Great guy.

Sure he will be fine, may have to tone down his pre match build up!!!!

Apparently he's doing well this morning - sitting up with a cup of tea, chatting, cracking jokes and flirting with nurses. Sounds promising.

Unless your a nurse.

or a cup of tea
