So hoping no real recent news is good news.

We are all rooting for you Birch. Just think about the great escape you can do it too.

FA cup and CL to fight for. All the best.

On the local lunchtime news, they had a statement from Glenfield Hospital saying that he was "stable".

That sounds very good as people who are "critical but stable" often survive, never mind just "stable". I don't suppose he'll be doing any more last-day charity runs, though, if he has any sense.

sure he will do a lap or two walk. I'll still give.

After all he's done he deserves it.

Glad to hear he's doing so well. Met him a few years ago in Natterjacks with Walshy, both were steaming but sort of integrated into our group and had a laugh, yes even Walshy... but Birch was a top bloke.

As family, he probably should of stopped a few years ago. he's stubborn though and I'm sure he'll do a lap or two as long as his legs will carry him!

He's a great bloke, got money in Natterjacks. Apparently read his own book on holiday lol

Has the Birch had heart problems and/or surgery before, I wonder?

He had some heart problems before which makes his annual runs even more special. I spoke to him s few months ago and told him that he needed to take care and not drop dead on us!

If your going to have a heart attack best place is in a room full of 400/500 people chances are that saved his life last night.

If he was at home in front of the Telly watching  MOTD it could well have been a worse outcome.

Love to hear the great storey teller spilling the funny beans on footballers lives & old times, know doubt he will tell this storey for years to come

get well soon

Delighted he is doing well.

Please no to the light tribute though, he's stable in hospital, not dead.

Sing his name or even better, win and dedicate the victory to him.

This is very true, as an off duty doctor attended to him pretty much straight away.

He's booked in for surgery next week

100% LCFC the attention whores again I see. More about giving themselves exposure no doubt.

Just give his name a rendition.

They're only trying to show some respect. Instead of slagging them off, come up with a better idea.

Rather than lights, how about a repeated and rousing rendition of our old 'manager' chant throughout the game, i.e.

'Alan Birchenall's Blue and White Army'...

Not been used in a while since we switched to 'He came from Italy' so could now be seen as personal to him if people get behind it.
