Morgan and Huth

One of them, at the very least, should have been replaced. Too old.

Absolutely criminal the CB area was not addressed in the summer and we went into the season with two 30+ year old main centre backs.

At least one if not both need replacing , they can only deal with balls coming directly on to them , too slow no mobility little footballing ability,  served us well but new blood needed

I think we desperately to get at least one CB this window then another in the Summer as starters.

Theyre both legends but like most of the team, they look like they're not even half the players they were last season.

Also I think we should start running back as fast as possible when either of them touches the ball. Both have bricks for feet.

Buy an experienced Top CB, buy a young quality CB with potential. Problem solved.

I would of liked to see both Huth and Morgan to have had less game-time, and been

phased out over this and next season.

How its panned out, Morgan more than Huth could see an abrupt end to his city career.

I dont want to see panic CB buying now, or worse in the summer transfer window.

If no CBs are forth coming, I see no reason to keep either Ranieri or his backroom  staff.

That would mean a really poor/blind recognition of present and near future needs.

And that is against all my arguments believing Ranieri should be given at least 2 seasons.

Perhaps should have gone all out for Keane and maybe Curtis Davies as well ...    As in we might have got him as opposed to no one.

Its not their fault we haven't got some back up.

I've always thought that you need 3 quality players of equal value to rotate with, especially in the premier league.

Example look at Man United in years gone by - Keane/Scholes/Butt for centre mid, Silvestre/Ferdinand/Vidic for Centre Back, Saha/van Nistelrooy/Solskjaer up front.

The dynamic of a successful team, I feel, is in having quality competition, players who can fit in where needed and push for a place in the team. With no adequete competition, it doesn't matter how badly Morgan and Huth play they will continue to be selected. If we got Keane for example, we would have dumped Wes a long time ago.

It's just ****ing unfathomable how we haven't looked into phasing out / replacing these two.

And yes, before all the 'OMG RESPECT THEM FOR LAST YEAR' crew turn up and cry their eyes out - I appreciate, applaud and will fondly remember Morgan and Huth for their contribution last year BUT it's criminal that we are relying on these old, aging, limited, non-footballing CBs week in, week out in the PL.

Madness.

The way some of you melts are talking makes me chuckle.

If we had bought 2 new cbs in the summer and dropped huth and Morgan first game there would have been an uproar every time we let a goal in lol

Today we played against the best team in the league, they had 3 shots on target and scored 3 goals. 2 of them lucky as balls.

Calm the hell down.

It's not just today though. We cannot keep the ball, every time the ball goes to Huth or Morgan they hoof it.

I agree, and on top of that due to their lack of pace the whole team has to sit deep to try and protect them which means we end up getting penned in our own half.

Until we bring in two centre halves who have a bit of pace and can pass a ball 5 yards along the ground under pressure I think we're going to struggle.

We won't develop as a side until we replace the two centre halves and get a right back who can attack and create opportunities.

Anyone using the word "melts" should be banned for life.

Morgan deserves a moment to breathe. He's been a stalwart at the back for *years* - and Lord knows he's earned a period of rest. Hernandez, for all his foibles, can handle a start at CB - which is his preferred position anyways.

We need someone to come in and have the impact Huth did when he signed during the great escape. Morgan has gone to pieces this season but he's our captain and there are no decent backups so we're stuck with him :\

It's especially annoying when Morgan receives the ball,he dallies, slightly bends sticking out his fat arse before hook hoofing it anywhere upfield.

If he was going to play 3 CB's today, then it was the perfect opportunity for Hernandez. Claudio obviously has 0% faith in him, and seems another Benny situation. So bizarre.

If we are ruling out him, Benny and Was, then we have Huth and Morgan, who have both seemed to have gone off a cliff edge, in terms of age catching up to them. We need two CB's in this window, even if it means we can't afford a RB or Midfieldfer/Striker target as well. Although, we should be spending whatever it takes to get us out of this hole in my opinion.

Spend about £30 million total on two decent CB's from Europe who are a decent age and pedigree and try one alongside Huth, and then if Huth continues to be pants, then have the two new CBs in. Wes and Huth have had it too easy this season, as no one in the squad is challenging them, even with how poor they have been.

Could have a new back four of Simpson--New Cb--New Cb--Chilwell by the end of January. Add to that an attacking midfielder with some creativity and flair, and we could be a very different team.

They can still do a decent job but always look better when we are organised and arent defending so deep. Wes did some quality defending against Hazard when he looked nailed on to score and put some great blocks in. OK neither player is the future but today CR gets the blame for us defending so deep and so many players playing out of position.

Spot on that crazy . Just too disorganised for me. Who do people want us to bring in stones for 50 mil. To many players settling in at the minute and that's the problem we will be much better once we get back to a settled side but that's football . Keep smiling up the city.

It's clear that they need replacing now, sure. But these guys were absolutely colossal last year. Our game seems to have evolved them now, but they should have 100% respect. Won't hear a bad worse said against these nutters, they were the cornerstone of our title.
