I agree it's time for a change but he captained us to the premier league title ffs? All leaders take control. You don't have to shout but you do need to talk. He doesn't talk enough to be a captain. He may have been wearing the armband but the real leaders were Kasper & Drinkwater. Wes has been a great signing but he's been very inconsistent at this level. He'll have long periods playing amazing and then long periods looking like a complete donkey. Like everyone he had the best season of his career last year, he was almost faultless. But he isn't getting any younger and the point is he's never been captain material. With us doing so badly the time has come to move on.

When he doesn't have a lot on it goes forward. We aren't exactly the most comfortable playing it out are we? Scapegoating at its best. Why do people use this term scapegoating? Do you know what it means? Who has said no one else was/is crap?

Doesn't happen the other way around. Huth has always talked more than Morgan. We need a new centre half and Morgan should be the one to drop.

Like I say it's my opinion, last season was an exceptional year, and captaincy is fairly easy when everything goes our way. When things are bad, and you are up against it, is when a true leader earns his crust, and Morgan for me, doesn't show that, look at today, what did he do to lead and inspire, nothing, his body language wasn't great. Look back at previous threads, before last season a lot if not the majority were having this conversation, he's not a leader, and he's not good enough, but people are accepting under performing, and facts that players are not good enough, due to the title winning blinkers. They all did exceptionally last season, but by the same token, as good as they were, they are equally poor this season, do we accept anything because they won the league

He's knackered, needs a rest, and maybe he's past his best now but I'll give him the benefit of the doubt for now Exactly. He needs a rest which means we need a new centre back, preferably one that is under 30 Claudio please.
shiv Posted 23 January 2017 Posted 23 January 2017 Did anyone notice Morgan's reaction after conceding the second goal? It was really bizarre, but he seemed to turn around and give someone a death stare for a good couple of mins. I was at the game but couldn't tell if this was aimed at Kasper or some of the fans?

Granted they both are not ball players but every time Morgan gets it heel do a long ball in the air to our weak short strikers.. perfect for the opposing centre backs head. HUTH is leagues above Morgan and is far more superior, anyone that comes in needs to partner Huth.
AyewJoking Posted 23 January 2017 Posted 23 January 2017 give it to vardy. leads by example. always pointing, telling people where to be, talks to the ref, away fans hate him which diverts abuse away from his team mates
Monsell1976 Posted 23 January 2017 Posted 23 January 2017 See in the mercury that Morgan said they had frank words with each other at half time. Nice to see Morgan led by example second half, and his motivational speech worked. Do they not realise we as fans are fed up off hearing their shallow words, and then the same outcome. These conversations should be had before a game, not during it. And if they had a conversation at half time, what did they agree, **** it we've lost, because that's the way it looked. Less talk more action please
AyewJoking Posted 23 January 2017 Posted 23 January 2017 probably opened a book on whether he could score an own goal with his arse. thats why he looked so gutted when it went in off his back!
Bayfox Posted 23 January 2017 Posted 23 January 2017 Claudio should have stripped morgan of the captaincy the minute he walked through the door. It's now gone past the point of no return and if he takes it off him, he loses another player on his side, mind you if he had brought a centre half in the summer to replace him with that wouldn't matter.

BWRL Posted 23 January 2017 Posted 23 January 2017 Every shot of him on Sky yesterday he looked lost and like he wanted the ground to swallow him up - he had given up - miles from the spirit from last year!

I thought he was a strange choice back in the day. Kasper or Drinky (before he started playing like a twat recently).

For me he has been Captain in name only, as on the pitch he offers nothing in terms of encouraging team mates during games.
adejo92 Posted 23 January 2017 Posted 23 January 2017 Morgan is clearly a very passionate player and i can't but like him however he does not lead by example. I don't believe thats his own fault, he just can't keep up with the game any more. Definitely re allocate to Kasper, his passion is clear to see.

And we still need another one CB at least.
Bayfox Posted 23 January 2017 Posted 23 January 2017 Agree he is in need of a rest played about 4 years solid However if you admit you take kingy into meetings when you're club captain. You need to have a word with your self. And for the record I love kingy. But come on I'm not sure I'd want kingy fighting my cause.
yorkie1999 Posted 22 February 2017 Posted 22 February 2017 Said it for ages, we need leaders on the pitch
SheppyFox Posted 22 February 2017 Posted 22 February 2017 ****ing sick of people saying "he captained us to the title, he managed us to the title" whatever the **** else. Woolworths probably had one good year too!
burleighfox Posted 22 February 2017 Posted 22 February 2017 Once again, Wes not really demonstrating any useful leadership qualities. On a night like tonight, we really need it but he's not up to the task.Should've gone to Kasper ages ago.
