  1. 1. Would you want Ranieri to stay for 2017/18 if he keeps us up?

    • Yes he should stay for next season.
    • No we need a new manager for next season

Assume we finish 14th or 15th and don't get embarrassed by Sevilla, would you still want Ranieri taking us into the 17/18 season and beyond.

The reason I ask is I've read people on here say he should go regardless because they have no faith in him moving forward..

This isn't about whether he beats Burnley and Man Utd but in the long term.

Honestly don't know ...    ask me again at the end of the season.   We need to see a plan/progress ...    at the moment the words chicken and headless spring to mind.

My issue with him is I've seen nothing to suggest he can turn things around when things go wrong. He's almost a victim of his own success as he never really had it tough last season. This season we just keep doing the same things over and over. Something has got to give and sadly it's easier to get rid of a manager than overhaul a whole squad. We need someone who can put a rocket up some of these players

the players dont seem to want to put the effort in. thats down to them but why isnt ranieri motivating them??

if we do stay up with ranieri it will take something pretty special so of course he'll deserve another crack at it the season after.

I'm not sure Ranieri will fix the aging defence and utterly lack of creativity.

If the players aren't playing for Ranieri, sack the ****ing players, the bunch of *****.

Last season, Ranieri made their careers and boosted their value up considerably. If they don't play for him anymore it's the players that can **** off.

That should be enough motivation.

is that why you dont think we'll stay up or you dont think he will sort it the season after?

like i said staying up now would be a pretty special achievement so would be a little unfair to dump him.

He's got to take a good proportion of the blame for Sunday.

He played a formation out of nowhere that didn't suit our players and it looked like we hadn't prepared properly to play it.

In fact he's said about as much himself.

I think we will stay up because we still have better individual attacking players than the bottom 5 (although we've scored 1 in 5 league games, which is worrying). But moving forward I'm not sure he can or will address the major issues in the squad in the summer, and we'll find ourselves in a similar position next season.

Keep him. We know he's struggling with some things now, but we also know what he's capable of. I'd love for us to be a club that supports its managers through tough times instead of being trigger happy like everyone else. And because we know what claudio can do, it's the perfect opportunity for us to show faith.

I think Ranieri is probably a dinosaur.

He looked great last season with his fine tuning by playing more defensive full backs and getting the team grafting and we played great football utilising our players to get the best out of them.

This season he has spent a fortune and can't come up with the answers. I would have thought he would buy certain type players and we would transition into a different playing style but it appears he has no long term plan and no idea how to fix our situation.

Agreed but it doesn't say much for the choice players who are seemingly 1 trick ponies

Depends on a lot of factors. If we improve over the remainder of the season then I'd be happy for him to have another go. If we limp along and stay up due to awfulness of others then I think it'd be best to part company.

Also depends on who is available to bring in of course. No point sacking him without someone suitable able to take us forward.

Depends on how we stayed up, if we see signs of gradual improvement then I'm ok with it. Survive with little improvement on how we're doing now and it probably needs looking at.

But what is he capable of? With every passing game it starts to look more and more like he isn't able to influence both off the field and during match days.

We look unprepared for every game, last season we were so good we could afford to be proactive and teams would need to work out how to stop us. This season it isn't working so its important to be reactive and set up in a way that can stifle the opposition. He has shown in all but about 2 games that he is incapable of that. I'm not sure what happened in training all last week but the players looked about as confused as the rest at playing the diamond.

Add to that the failure in the summer and (so far) this window. The summer will likely see Mahrez move on, along with maybe Drinkwater and Schmeichel. Morgan and Huth another year older. Do you have confidence in him replacing them?

I haven't voted as I do not see it as a simple yes/no at this stage of the season.

For me, it's not just the league position. I can live with that. There's a lot of football to be played to change that for better or worse.

My issue with this season is the absolute dog shit performances we've put out there on so many occasions this season. I don't mind losing, well I do, but I expect it as a City fan against the "bigger" clubs in this league. My issue is, we barely make them sweat for it. Saints were laughing at us yesterday. We gave them nothing to worry about. That was a combination of bad attitude, application and tactics. That falls on the head of the players and management.

I am one one who calls for Ranieri to leave because I don't feel his decision making this year is good enough for Leicester.

If if we stay up by the skin of our teeth because there are three worse of clubs and performances are as inconsistant and dire as they have been. No, he needs to go. I would hate this club to become a Sunderland.

If if we improve drastically in performance and stay up. Yes, keep him.

No Leicester fan wants to see a manager fail. He fails, we fail. But it's got to be what's best for the club going forward.

if the players are not playing for Claudio then their is only one way it can go and it usually ends up with the manager going. he needs to stop the slide and turn things around quickly in a short space of time which is extremely difficult.if he does turn things around then he will have really earnt his money, wouldn't he!. the performances have been poor and the squad just does not seem balanced at allwe should have recruited a hell of a lot better in experienced players who are still hungry for success

He's the manager though, at the end of the day it's his responsibility and rightly takes the blame when we are poor (just like he takes credit when we look good - which is rare this season).

I do not know what or how he has training set up every day. We don't create chances, we concede easy goals, we are poor at set pieces (both attacking and defending), we play terrible long ball football, the players don't look motivated or interested... the list goes on... it's all down to the manager.

Managers earn their reputation by building teams/getting teams out of a slump and this season I've seen nothing to suggest Ranieri knows what to do to get us out of this mess.

Last season he did no end of things that were reactive. Remember coming back from goals down almost every week for the first couple of months? We know ranieri is capable of brilliance. We should support him through this lean patch.

I think he forgot to jot down the dates of the January transfer market in his calander. We are missing a great opportunity to strengthen certain positions.

Summer may be too late.

To be honest I can see Claudio retiring at the end of the season.

good shout! maybe the owners will give him until the end of the season and let him bow out gracefully and it looks like a mutually agreed decision which of course it won't be!

The most likely outcome. Let's pray we're still up then.

Keep us up and he can leave football with his head held high with a massive send off from all our fans at the last game of the season. He's achieved all he can in football after this season.
