lcfcsnow Posted 28 January 2017 Posted 28 January 2017 Have to sell for me, at his age and injury record in six months we won't get a better offer. If Macia's been doing his job properly there should be a known younger option available to us.
Slim Dog Posted 28 January 2017 Posted 28 January 2017 Unless they have a replacement lined up then no. P.s Can you change your username?
Stevosevic Posted 28 January 2017 Posted 28 January 2017 Why didn't they bid 3 weeks ago? They must know we'll need to replace and we have a deadline to be able to do so. If they'd bid earlier there would probably be more chance of it being accepted

Every club will know we would be desperate and have a lot of money to get a replacement in so we'd end up spending 30m on Shane Long or someone. Taken us 28 days and we haven't even got a CB. Vardy, Okazaki and Musa would be a hell of a risk.

If they do and the player wants to move then we are in serious trouble as we are likely to lose Ulloa and him and I doubt we have any replacements lined up.

dylanlegend Posted 28 January 2017 Posted 28 January 2017 It's an incredible offer, but not worth weakening our side the position we are in
1972 Fox Posted 28 January 2017 Posted 28 January 2017 If we can get a better replacement in before the window shuts then we should sell him for that price. I've said it before that Slimani is nowhere near the quality of what you would expect for the £28-30m we paid for him.
Tuna Posted 28 January 2017 Posted 28 January 2017 I'm assuming it's all tosh, but if the bid is genuine, it would be hard to turn down that sort of money (From the player's perspective). I'd get a shortlist of targets just in case.

They can't play together either so one of them has to go for me, just to save us persisting in playing them both together.
StriderHiryu Posted 28 January 2017 Posted 28 January 2017 Modern football is mental! £38m bid rejected and for a player signed less than 6 months ago. We are lucky in some sense that Chinese clubs weren't quite as active 12 months ago as they may have come in for our stars during the title run-in. I like Slimani and think if we played a system to suit him that he could be a 15-20 league goals a season player. That said I don't think he's worth £38m. However, given our current plight it would be too risky to sell!
TrentFox Posted 29 January 2017 Posted 29 January 2017 Take it. Leo, Musa, time to man up and show us what you have.

yorkie1999 Posted 29 January 2017 Posted 29 January 2017 Well that's a chunk of the 130 million the uk sends to china to help develop football gone.

If that's true, what an absolute joke! What about putting more money into British grassroots?! The Chinese league is plenty of evidence to show they don't need our handouts!

narboroughblue Posted 29 January 2017 Posted 29 January 2017 TalkSPORT saying China can buy players until Feb 28th so this might rumble on beyond Tuesday. It's a tempting offer but we would need to buy first, if we don't then keep.
