Blizzard Posted 25 January 2017 Posted 25 January 2017 I don't believe for one minute we will get relegated, if anything a relegation battle will make the season interesting. We will then really see what the squad is made up off. Remember, this seasons team are not the same team who won the PL. It is a different group of player, with all the additions. Any cries of sacking Raneri right now are insane. Who realistically, younger would you, could you replace him with? ( Wait a couple of years and they could recruit Mourino, that is if the Thais are still in control. Who knows what is around the corner?)

( Wait a couple of years and they could recruit Mourino, that is if the Thais are still in control. Who knows what is around the corner?) Bit early to be on the whisky.. If you watched us on Sunday, then you must have seen that we are very much at risk of being relegated. We were woeful and have been for 5 months now. Strong rumours of Claudio losing the dressing room too with Kasper not happy at all with him. Only a week left of the window and still no new defenders in sight. I wish I could be as optimistic as you right now but I think there is a decent chance of being relegated. Hoping that the teams below us are just as bad, if not worse! Sunderland and Hull will surely struggle but Swansea look like they are performing better and Big Sam will surely grind out enough 1-0 wins to keep them safe, It's going to be tight and we will need a big change over next few weeks. If we can get some wins and push that 5 point gap to 10-12, then we can all relax a little more. Tough games to come though!
Blizzard Posted 25 January 2017 Author Posted 25 January 2017 Where are these rumours coming from? It's hardly surprising kasper is angry, all he does is keep picking up the ball out of the back of the net.lol
HoustonFox Posted 25 January 2017 Posted 25 January 2017 What a thread! I would snap your arm off for mid-table mediocrity right now. Let's end the season on a high and stay up and not looks dicks in Europe, eh? Chelsea's 10th is looking pretty pretty appetizing right now...
Sir Shep Posted 25 January 2017 Posted 25 January 2017 Chelsea's 10 th would be fantastic, but they had fantastic players and got rid of their manager who had won the league the season before! Still let's hope 442 at home gets us to 40 points because away I can't see any points coming.

There were many last season who thought that we wouldn't win the league. At the moment we're not playing well enough and certainly not to the standard necessary to survive in the PL. We have the potential in the squad to do much, much better but the performances aren't there right now. We are in danger of sleepwalking into the relegation zone, I hope that the team wakes up before we get there.

We've played against other "relegation favourites" and lost... Sunderland, Watford, Middlesbrough took two points from us and deserved five.... I'm yet to see anything to suggest these players and this manager can get us out of this rut. As for cries about a new manager, I've already suggested Mancini. But it's far too late for anything now. We're on the 25th January and still haven't signed a centre half.

foxy boxing Posted 25 January 2017 Posted 25 January 2017 do you know the teams that get relegated are the ones who don't believe they can get relegated. clubs who think they are too big to go down like Newcastle thought!. the players need to start performing and not believing their own hype. we can't just go on to the pitch and play these players need to start performing and showing some grit and determination. the fear of being relegated the season after winning the Premier league should put the fear of god in to these players as they will forever be known as bottlers if we go down.
st albans fox Posted 25 January 2017 Posted 25 January 2017 And bear in mind that the teams around us will also begin to gain more points at the back end as they see the trap door opening. this season might indeed require 40 points and that a long way from where we currently sit!

Still having to play the likes of ManU, Spurs, Arsenal (A), West Ham (A), Man City (A), Liverpool... Yeah, right we ain't in a relegation battle and staying up is granted.
Raw Dykes Posted 25 January 2017 Posted 25 January 2017 I really don't like to say it, but I think you're deluding yourself if you think there's no chance of relegation and that Claudio shouldn't be fired. It's been a totally dismal league campaign so far, and if anything, we're getting even worse. We currently look like the worst side in the league. The team look completely bereft of confidence. There's no fight or spirit. If we haven't got that, then I really can't see us staying up. Our record away from home is probably the worst in the country, and I think that is absolutely unacceptable. We're running out of games now, and also there's only days left to bring in players to save us. The situation is grim. Yes, CR achieved the unbelievable last season, and he has earnt more time and patience than anyone else who hadn't won us the PL would deserve, but I believe that time is up now. I think he should have gone before the transfer window opened. I find it a bit worrying how many people think he should stay no matter what. I'm grateful for what he did last season, but I'm a fan of the club, not him. Relegation could easily cripple the club. We have a large collection of players on way more money than their worth. No other club will take them off our hands. If we go down, don't expect us to get back up any time soon. We could easily be stuck in league 1 or lower for years.
FoxinNotts Posted 25 January 2017 Posted 25 January 2017 I think we'll finish 14th or 15th frustration will reign from now until May.

Believe it, on current form, as in league form from the start of the season, we look every part of a relegation battling team, and looking at the teams below us, we look the most disorganised, and at risk barring Sunderland.
Guest Posted 25 January 2017 Posted 25 January 2017 It's all a media ploy. No one talks about a mid table team. We are doing it for the front page, then with x games to spare we will crack out a winning streak thus making more headlines then win the champions league...then the whole team will get a movie

Jonezy Posted 25 January 2017 Posted 25 January 2017 It is not the relegation battle I am panicking about. It is the way we play with complete lack of form, ideas and just basic understanding of football. All season we have been sub par and a lot of performances were just a complete surrender to the opposition team. We are scaringly bad and if nothing improves soon, we are the most deserving relegation team since the abysmal Derby team. I am horrified right now after the weekend's display...
whetstonefox Posted 25 January 2017 Posted 25 January 2017 I'm just hoping at some point the players professional pride will kick in , no matter what they think of the manager surely they don't see relegation as the answer and I'd also hope they have relegation clauses on pay in their contracts

davieG Posted 25 January 2017 Posted 25 January 2017 If we go down the player's legacy as amazing champions will be blown away as they'll be forever remembered as a laughing stock team . History will remember the relegation rather than the champions as it will be something they can take the piss out. It's about time CR AND the team got this into their heads

Collibosher70 Posted 25 January 2017 Posted 25 January 2017 trying not to panic but i'm sure some will agree it's not easy. it seems we're not doing the basics , getting the ball into the box and also defending far too deep. the diamond formation was a joke last week and should never be tried again. will help with slimani and mahrez coming back but the basics need to be there. we're not even creating decent chances.

We have the equivalent in points away from home to winning just one game - three points! These were gained with draws at Spurs, Stoke and Middlesbrough. I really did think the Stoke away comeback game was going to be the big turning point for this wretched season but since then (barring the Man City and West Ham home wins that followed), we have really gone backwards - and fast! I hate to say it but I am quietly starting to envy anybody who had £100 on us to get relegated this season, just as I was envious of anybody who bet any amount on us to win the league at the start of last season!

That title they can never take away, a bunch of mongrels with some skill, made a laughing stock Of the rich, and so called european top talent..We have an excuse, those obligatory clubs have none !!!. 90+ clubs would have sold their footballing souls, to have even dared to dream, what we realised last season. Hey we were always shit, you cant take the piss out of shit...We know WHAT WE ARE... I have enough 1 liners, for the rest of my life, to parry of the dozos, who would even try to belittle Our history making season... You have a great and proud scottish player has your user name. Dont Cower and Ever fall without Standing your ground when remembering the 2015/2016 Footballing ..no !!! ..sporting wonder that Made our city, and the other also rans...proud, excited, and for once rode that incredible joy with us..!!! Those that Take the piss,..they would only dribble, ours would make an Elephant proud.
