HankMarvin Posted 31 January 2017 Posted 31 January 2017 Leicester and Crystal Palace to battle over Sunderland defender Lamine Kone – but David Moyes firm on £18m release clause Allardyce wants to land centre-back from relegation rivals Leicester City boss Claudio Ranieri and Crystal Palace’s Sam Allardyce are making late moves for Sunderland’s Lamine Kone. Ranieri is asking about the Ivory Coast giant after hitting snags with a move for Kara Mbodji. And Allardyce is willing to go big to land a player from his relegation rivals as he tries to save Palace. However David Moyes is in no mood to deal and neither get their target unless they reach the £18million release clause. Kone played a major role in the Black Cats Premier League survival last season under Allardyce, and the former England boss is keen to work with the big defender again at Selhurst Park.
Ric Flair Posted 31 January 2017 Posted 31 January 2017 Hahaa I thought this was Aruna Kone then who I wildly predicted to sign this morning.
simon789us Posted 31 January 2017 Posted 31 January 2017 Id take him or sakho for that price maybe part ex with ulloa still think we need a CAM as well as defenders
Fox 4 Life Posted 31 January 2017 Posted 31 January 2017 Now this is something I could get on board with. What was the source?

Guest Basildon Fox Posted 31 January 2017 Posted 31 January 2017 Him and Sakho £36m combined for the 2. Both know the Prem. Get it done and throw in Ulloa for £7m as part of the deal for Kone.

AmarteyAndChill Posted 31 January 2017 Posted 31 January 2017 His £18m release clause is a lot cheaper than the £100m we will lose when we get relegated this season.
STUHILL Posted 31 January 2017 Posted 31 January 2017 Is he actually any good? Sunderland are hardly known for their solid defence.

Tuna Posted 31 January 2017 Posted 31 January 2017 He's a beast! Pay the damn money. No doubt Rudkin is preparing a 7 million quid offer right now!

Well the price fits, but didn't Geoff say we'd agreed the fee, just hadn't sorted wages. It could well be that we met the release clause - and if so, could still buy if we can get agreement with Kone. For those that say we should offer Ulloa as a makeweight transfer, it won't make much difference to the wages impasse. Also, as often reported, Geoff did say that the mystery man was not a CB.
dbtcity Posted 31 January 2017 Posted 31 January 2017 Called him in the mystery player thread before geooooffff let us no said player had never played cb... would be all over this

STUHILL Posted 31 January 2017 Posted 31 January 2017 People wanting to switch Ulloa need to remember that if Slimani gets injured, we are left with a woefully out of form Vardy and Okazaki who doesn't score very often! Not saying Ulloa is prolific, but we can't lose a striker and not replace him with anyone. Just adds another deal we have to do. By all means get Kone, but don't lose a striker in the process and add another player needed in the next 12 hours!
