Only £18m cash will meet the clause.... if they DON'T want to lose him, then it's no good.

Would have to be two separate deals, we get their cash then bid the full amount, to make sure they have no say in it.

Yeah that's true but in any trade both parties need something the opposite wants, them begging for Ulloa can't be a bad thing :)

Kone or Sakho, and we've had a decent window. Still think both Morgan and Huth have something to offer alongside a mobile, quick CB partner- the old Football Manager stopper & cover combo.

I wouldn't want to replace both at the moment- I know we've not been great defensively as it is, but a whole new back line will take time to gel.

NO LESS THAN £20M FOR SAKHO

Mamadou Sakho’s proposed move from Liverpool will not happen unless Crystal Palace pay a £20m, according to Sky sources.

We understand Sakho, currently on £105,000-a-week, will not move to Selhurst Park unless Palace “make it worthwhile for him financially,” which means offering him considerably more than that.

Keep him!

I am refusing to get excited. All these rumours and gossip but we all know that we will end up signing some Greek 3rd division 21 year old for 12 million, be told he is hot prospect then never see him.

Sakhos been spotted in London.

I'd imagine Palace have used rumours of Kone, to try push along the Sakho deal. Good signing for them if he is there for Palace.

People turning their nose at Kone lollol the guy is a tank who's managed to look quality despite being at a mess of a team like Sunderland says it all

Exactly this! Him and Defoe were the only reasons they stayed up last season!

Paying £18m for a centre back who is part of the worst team in the league, and people are happy with that. Amazing what desperation does to people.

He was a big part of their upturn in form when Allardyce brought him in. If Allardyce was still in charge, they'd be in much better shape. Instead Moyes has had to come in and he's not the instant impact, hit-the-ground-running kind of manager.

I'd take him. Throwing Leo into the deal would be win-win from our point of view. No point keeping Leo just to let him rot in the ressies.

Sunderland fans on their forum don't think there is a release clause because they rejected 20million in the Summer from Everton, then he signed a new contract the same month, so why reject that sum but then insert an 18 million release clause. Also, the story is from the Sun.

On a side note, some mixed feelings about him on there. Some say he is awful, some say he is their only hope of staying up. Seems like he was great when first joined but not been as good since.

18 million seems high but I will use the Jeffery Schlupp fee again..... Enough said. lol

January prices what do people expect. A deal around the Ulloa plus 8-10m mark would be a good deal for us I think. Can't comment much on Kones ability as barely seen him play but when he was linked with a move away last year Sunderland fans were very worried. Has to be better than Wes and Huth anyway.

In regards to Sakho, we'd be mad to pay £20m+ and then £105,000 a week. He'll go Palace anyway I'm sure. I'd Much rather we spend that sort of money on someone like Keane

They could insert a release clause same reason we did in the Kante deal- to get him to stay for a bit longer (or join in the 1st place in Kante situation) but then the player has a bit of leverage should he want to leave in the near future

Probably to stop Ulloa agents pestering CR's mobile for a swap deal
