Cannot think of a player of his age coming into the Prem and being such obvious quality immediately for a number of years. How old was Coutihnio when he came in? Gerard? It makes the dosh United paid out for Pogba look utterly stupid. Wilfred is the "anti Pogba" . Kid is humble and let's his game do the talking. Yes he is learning. (Loved seeing Benny give him an earful for switching off yesterday.). It's going to be hard to hide him if we get to the CL semi's.

This thread has gone all wrong.

The 'hide' threads have always been about the Photoshop experts shoving players faces in boxes of fruit and veg, or summat, to hide them away from potential suitors.

How I sometimes miss the forum of old..

I highly doubt it too. What we might see, is his agent chucking some rumours out there, to try get him a better deal here. I'm guessing he isn't on that much, probably similar to Gray and I imagine both will be linked to other clubs, purely to try get an improved weekly wage

I wouldn't mind a wage rise. He is a crucial piece in the midfield and one of the biggest reasons we can play like last season. He's improving game after game and I'm excited to see how good he'll be next year at the same time.

Seeing a few tweets tonight with some story in the Telegraph that Arsenal want Ndidi. Making my piss boil. Sorry if posted before here or another thread. They can self fornicate. Boring underachieving tossers.

Arsenal, Manchester United, Southampton and Hamburg were all keen to sign the defensive midfielder this summer but Leicester’s determination to complete a deal in January enabled them to jump to the front of the queue.

After first scouting him nearly 18 months ago, Leicester began negotiations in the summer and Shakespeare admits that persistence proved vital in the pursuit.

“Our recruitment department take a real pat on the back for that. We did a lot of homework on him and I think we were one of the first clubs, if not the first, to show an interest in him,” he said.

“I think he, and his family and agent, remembered that so we were in the driving seat. When other clubs came in for him he remembered the way we went about it first. He had other options.

So this was Walsh's doing, too...

Give him whatever he wants (within reason) as long as we lose any release clause. It's money in the bank which we would recoup when he does finally leave. In the meantime we get to play a first class footballer.

He's the sort of player we should build our team around. Young, talented, room to get even better and to cap it all off, a fantastic attitude. Lots of the other boys looked delighted for him on Saturday when he scored. I think Drinky can clearly be seen mouthing "fookin hell!" in surprise/ delight.

Demari Grey might want £60k a week but Ndidi actually deserves it!

Based on the dons pathetic signings i seriously doubt it was him and his team.

My guess is we will keep him for next season then he will be off.

Leicester City Boss Speaks On Rumours Of Arsenal & Spurs Interest In Wilfred Ndidi – There Will Always Be Bids

April 3, 2017

Nigeria

Talks of Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur interest in Nigerian midfielder Wilfred Ndidi has drawn a reaction from Leicester City manager Craig Shakespeare.

Ndidi has been a revelation since joining the club from Belgian side Genk in the January transfer window, and his performances have lead to talks of a move away from the club in the summer.

Arsenal and Spurs are rumoured as the two English teams who are keeping close watch on the Nigerian midfielder, but Shakespeare insist the 20 year old will be at the club for a long time.

Shakespeare made this known during his pre match conference ahead of their upcoming game against Sunderland on Wednesday.

” We can do nothing about speculations, It’s a credit to him, in terms of the way he has performed, but also the way he is. He is a very good professional, very mature heads on his shoulders.

” I have no problem with speculation, but we have our best players tied up. Of course, there can always be bids, we can always turn them down. But football is football you’ll always get bids for good players.

” It is vitally important we keep our young players. Speaking to Wilfred, he is very happy here. He knows that we have given him the opportunity and I am sure that he will be a player here for a long time”, Shakespeare said of the Nigerian who is contracted to the Foxes till the summer of 2021.

Perfect answer. Also suggests the rumour of Gray's release clause is bogus and hopefully Shakespeare won't allow these dumb clauses to be included in the future. They hopefully have learned their lesson from Kante.

Be interesting to see what happens with Mahrez this summer though.

Only till 2021!!?! Get Rudkin on the phone and tell him to add another 5 years to that number! He will only be 24 then!

Finally! The thread comes to life! There's  a separate Wilifred Ndid thread, for those interested, in which statements of love, devotion and complaints about how good he is can be deposited.

Can't wait for papers to use fees such as £20m for Ndidi. Wouldn't sell him for less than £100m atm

The agent of Leicester midfielder Wilfred Ndidi has ruled out a potential transfer move during the summer.

The 20-year-old has settled in quickly since signing for the Foxes from Genk in January, performing well in midfield and impressing during Leicester's recent resurgence in form.

Manchester United have been among those linked with a transfer for Ndidi, with the Red Devils in need of midfield reinforcements, while Arsenal have also struggled in central areas this season.

Southampton are also said to be interested in the Nigeria international, although the midfielder's agent has confirmed he is not looking to leave this summer despite unofficial approaches being made.

“There are many unofficial approaches but he is never going to leave because of the way Leicester players and coaches welcomed and treated him. Besides it is normal,” Ndidi’s representative told allnigeriasoccer.com.

“Southampton never pay big money for players. Ndidi was one of the most expensive Leicester signings and that might increase due to league points and championships.”

United had made an official approach for Ndidi before he signed for Leicester, so impressive was his form in Belgium, but their slow approach allowed the Premier League champions to nip in and secure a £17m deal.

A potential fee could rise to £18m for Ndidi, who scored his first Premier League goal for Leicester during the 2-0 win over Stoke on Saturday.

While Leicester look to have escaped in the battle against relegation, they remain involved in the Champions League with their quarter-final tie against Atletico Madrid set to take place next week.
