Look, im not defending the indefensible as today was diabolical, but a poor pitch will negate the skill advantage the supposed "better" team has over the lesser team. On a good pitch, the skill differential between the two teams should increase. Didn't say he said it but it is implied by what he said, to me at least. Sorry, I don't buy the shitty pitch theory, if the FA deems it playable then it's playable for any team in the league' and any supposed better team should have the skillset, mindset and wherewithal to deal with it or else what makes them better. What you're saying in effect is that a poor pitch negates skill and a team cannot be skillful on a poor pitch but only on a pristine one. Which is absolute bollocks because skill will negate a poor pitch or it wouldn't be skill. Look at the games in the '70's and some of the pitches they played on. You telling me the great footballers of that era' skill was negated because of pitch conditions? I think not.
Milo Posted 18 February 2017 Posted 18 February 2017 And the condition of the pitch wouldn't have been a surprise. Had a little while to prepare - plenty of cow fields to practice on in Leicester

Milo, my man, I didn't say that, that is not my quote dude. Think you got that from a quote of a quote.

I'm assuming you didn't actually read what I said. The idea that we should be beating Millwall by virtue of being us, and that anything less than victory was inconceivable, is arrogant. It is precisely the sort of attitude that a certain ex city manager labelled as "delusions of grandeur" 5 years ago. At no point did I say that people disappointed in the performance were arrogant. 42 minutes ago, Milo said: Oh, and I've been a comically unaware band-wagoner for 30 years... If you think that it should have been impossible for a lower league side to beat a top flight side in poor form in a one off game then yes, you are.
daddylonglegs Posted 18 February 2017 Posted 18 February 2017 I absolutely cannot stand this patronising attitude from fans of outside clubs. Why am I fickle that I want change at a club where we haven't scored in 11 hours of football, have just failed to beat a 10 man league 1 team, are destined to embarrass ourselves in the CL & are nailed on to be relegated unless there's change!

That's even with the amazing trip to Brugge and seeing Champions League football at the KP. I've never seen us look as clueless as this and put up such little fight. We don't demand the best football or even to win games, as Leicester fans the very least we expect is workrate and desire I was saying to my mate today that this should be one of the most exciting weeks in the club's history as we go off to Spain to battle it out for a QF spot in the Champions League. Although we're both going to Seville we both agreed neither of us are looking forward to it. Instead of hoping for a positive result we go there hoping not to get embarrassed.
AjcW Posted 18 February 2017 Posted 18 February 2017 As someone who was so happy to see Claudio appointed and so happy with last season (obviously) there's one stat that stands out for me..... - IF Claudio makes it to the end of the season this will be the third longest (in games) he's ever been at a club........ mindblowing really.

We don't demand the best football or even to win games, as Leicester fans the very least we expect is workrate and desire Since 2009 (minus the brief period under Sven and Sousa) this is probably my least favourite season. 6 memorable Champions League games can't erase the utter shambles it has been. Some players have been nothing short of a disgrace. Ranieri has been out of his depth. The moment he started to put his own stamp on the team it's been a total car crash. I haven't seen this lack of fight since we lost 6-1 to Portsmouth under Sousa. That was 7 years ago.

We don't demand the best football or even to win games, as Leicester fans the very least we expect is workrate and desire This is it for me. Even if we'd fallen away from January last year and finished 4th or 5th I'd still have been proud of them. To go from 14th to those places takes some doing. But the biggest thing, away from winning the league, was the determination to keep going, to take knocks but come back, to refuse to listen to those who wrote us off and continued to and to not let any team have a comfortable game against us. I think people look at us and believe we're spoilt brats complaining about not winning much any more but I totally disagree. I would struggle to find any set of fans who would watch the matches we've played this season without any discontent or criticism. We're in February and we've lost 17 matches this season and I don't believe any have been down to bad luck, a refereeing decision or anything like that which is incredible. Possibly one decent performance and that was Chelsea in the League Cup. I accept we're going to lose games, it's what happens to most teams on a fairly regular basis, but not like this. Not in this manner virtually every week.

People who are acting like we couldn't do a simple job are showing themselves to be comically unaware of football - the sort of band-wagoners we'll happily jettison soon. Frustrating to have gone out, even more so like this, but people acting like it was inconceivable are arrogant to the extreme This is an accusation that's branded about quite a bit this season. Playing the game like we are and losing in the manner we are is inconceivable. Saying it was shit in October - accused of not understanding football. Saying a new manager should come in before January - accused of not understanding football. saying it was utter dog shite last month - accused of not understanding football. saying the club has something drastically wrong with it - accused of not understanding football. I'm starting to get the feeling the ones branding about this accusation are the ones who struggle to understand the basic principles of the game. There is a ball. 22 players and two goals. The aim is to put the ball in the oppositions goal, while stopping them putting it into yours. We do neither at the moment. Not really understand the sport there. And as as for the pitch - do me a favour. That's insulting to any team outside of the premier league. We won a league playing on such pitches. Expecting a set of players and a manager apparently plying their trade at the top end of their profession to put away a team whose yearly turnover is probably the equivalent of the side we put out, should be an expectancy. Ive apparently been bandwagging and watching this team for more years than I can care to remember and I still don't understand sport apparently. However, I'd rather see the painstakingly ****ing obvious than have my head in the clouds and be a "football expert". I dont know what winds me up more. Ranieri or the self righteous, self praising so called experts amongst us.
foxyblue Posted 18 February 2017 Posted 18 February 2017 Top grow some balls and get rid of ranieri and Rudkin.start listening to the fans.if we go down we will end up like villa.

Our only chance is to hope that a new manager provides a bounce and can sweep away the negativity hanging over the club. To do this and it to have an effect, they must already have someone in mind. I dont believe they do, so I see him riding the season out . I see us at the moment being a poison chalice, only someone who is willing to accept relegation and a new rebuild, Would take the job.

Stadt Posted 19 February 2017 Posted 19 February 2017 Playing on a rubbish pitch doesn't account for any of the reasons we lost today, we lost because the team selection was poor, tactically we were poor, we missed chances and Millwall were up for it. W could have played like that at home, at the Bernabeu, Augusta, Wimbledon or Bradgate park and we still would have lost that ****ing game.
Callabinho Posted 19 February 2017 Posted 19 February 2017 We don't train with him everyday, we don't sit in on everyone of his team talks, we don't spend most of our days with him...the players do...and I'm getting ****ed off with the select few who fling shit at those fans wanting to place most of the blame on Claudio...ultimately he is the man at the top, and it matters not what we think of the players HE is held accountable for what happens on the pitch, he's the ****ing manager for ****s sake...it's not all rainbows and ****ing lolly pops, and it is a fact and stone cold ****ing fact that pretty much every team Ranieri has taken charge of has gone tits up a at some point....top world class players have criticised him long before he became our manager for his bizarre approach... Last season was last season, and we are fast heading towards the championship, under Claudio's guidance we will not pick up another point all season, the lads aren't playing for him, and as much as some of you want to chase them around the city with pitch forks you can't, if they won't look up to Claudio then we at least need to try and change something to salvage this pig shit season. They're all to blame for the mess we are in... But as things stand Claudio is stood on his own cast adrift, and unfortunately when that happens, there is no way back.
ARTY_FOX Posted 19 February 2017 Posted 19 February 2017 So what I want to know is this the 'real ranieri'? Last season he came in and the players where all singing his praises for not changing much, just a few tweaks. He even said himself why would he change what worked at the end of the previous season. we go on to win the league. The following season everything changes. Random formations, confused players and a completely different brand of football. He's too loyal to some players and refuses to change the obvious. I also dont buy into the 'we just got found out' theory. We'd 'found out' this time last year yet we went on winning game after game. There's more than simply losing Kante too. Most of the shite we concede kante makes no difference. He's changed everything and it's shite. Please leave with the memories of last year.... leave before you take us down. Or just stop this shit. Get us playing in the same way we ended last season and not this shit keep the ball shite we can't do because nobody can pass the ball to a blue shirt with in 5 yards of them you ****ing twat (I'm sorry for calling you a twat.)
mikey_b Posted 19 February 2017 Posted 19 February 2017 odds on us getting relegated are more than fair!
evostic Posted 19 February 2017 Posted 19 February 2017 While that was shocking. You want to get rid of the manager days before the the last 16 game against Saville? Baffling...There is a rather current desperately downward trend at the moment. Any change in management could not do any worse against sevillla. It would also be an opportunity for a shake-up of our season... and I don't want to have to find a situation where I am trying to say that again !Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
