What on earth is happening to the USA? It's difficult to be optimistic about the future when you see stuff like that. http://www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-40909547 This is why what Trump is doing isn't actually all that funny. It's emboldened and enabled people like this.
leicsmac Posted 12 August 2017 Posted 12 August 2017 Bigger rally planned for Charlottesville tonight, and apparently an 'armed militia' has shown up. This keeps getting better and better.
The Horse's Mouth Posted 12 August 2017 Posted 12 August 2017 I have the best nuclear wars, the best ones, it's going to be great
Guest Posted 12 August 2017 Posted 12 August 2017 How long before the us is considered a pariah state?
Guest FriendlyRam Posted 12 August 2017 Posted 12 August 2017 Trump.... They were warned about him and still voted for him... madness.
Guest Kopfkino Posted 12 August 2017 Posted 12 August 2017 "Please people call 911, we need multiple ambulances", as he stands there filming it and swearing at the police

leicsmac Posted 12 August 2017 Posted 12 August 2017 Yeah. Again, this administration has emboldened those who would do this.

lgfualol Posted 12 August 2017 Posted 12 August 2017 Racist scum. They have so much in common with ISIS but do not even realise it. Trump will say jack shit about this. Cvnt.
Merging Cultures Posted 12 August 2017 Posted 12 August 2017 If it was intentional (probably was), then this happened because these people are emboldened by Trump. The irony of them using ISIS tactics, running people over, is completely lost on them. They are the American version of the Taliban.
Jattdogg Posted 12 August 2017 Posted 12 August 2017 And my wife wonders why i dont want to make a 45 minute drive to cross into the states... america has always had this problem and it wnt ever go away. Land of the free and home of the brave? Not so.

Close enough, obviously he had to say something but equally obviously the Donald couldn't bring himself to criticise the alt-right's display of aggression so everybody's to blame: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/av/world-us-canada-40913649/trump-condemns-hatred-and-violence-in-charlottesville Something's occurred to me though: We have to regularly put up with the same few posters on here who jump in to condemn the viciousness inherent in all left-wingers every time footage of angry protesters emerges or who tell us that all Muslims secretly condone terrorist attacks every time a new one happens, so in light of recent developments I guess we can look forward to seeing them congratulate the car driving Nazi and explain why exactly it is that everybody right-of-centre thinks it's acceptable to murder people for their different political views. Should be enlightening.

As it is, this guy was a neo-nazi supremacist, an extreme racist piece of sh*t, which is something pretty much everyone, can unite around to condemn. It's offensive to suggest that anyone centre right would come up with even a half argument to explain or condone this murderer's actions. Punish him to the full force of the law. In fact, to compare the centre right or anyone slightly centre right to the breitbart alt right lunatics is the equivalent of saying every centre left is a Leninist card carrying Commie. And Trump's comments were poor. I hate these mealy mouthed apologist statements with attempts at equalizing or sharing blame, with talk of violence on all sides. It's an attempt to pass blame, avoid condemnation and sound intellectual. Ironically the master of this is Jeremy Cornyn but that's a discussion for another day.
Nick Posted 13 August 2017 Posted 13 August 2017 He wouldn't want to piss off his electorate now though would he.
Vacamion Posted 13 August 2017 Author Posted 13 August 2017 Red baseball caps The "thumbs up" sign White polo shirts Beige chinos Combat clothing with confederate patches The list of stuff that right thinking people should sidle away from is growing. Oh, and swastika tattoos and stiff arm salutes, too.

You've read the words correctly but you've clearly not comprehended them if what you took away from that comment is that I think everyone on the right is a nazi sympathiser. Obviously the vast majority of people who hold some form of conservative world view are not on their side and that's exactly the point I'm making (I'd question your choice of words too because I wouldn't rule out the likelihood of at least one person on here thinking that what happened yesterday was great). It was a tongue in cheek attempt to provide a frame of reference whereby the usual suspects who bang on about snowflakes and safe spaces can have a mirror held up to their behaviour and maybe finally understand that blaming an entire subsection of society for the actions of some idiots who are arbitrarily associated with them isn't the right approach to take in life. And you say it like it's crazy but there really are posters who regularly imply things like all labour voters are crazy Venezuela loving commies (I'm not a labour voter btw I just get annoyed when I see such base 'debates') hence me feeling the need to provide this particular existential mirror. The fact that you've got so offended by my attempt to shine the light of context on the proponents of the growing resentment towards the faceless, nebulous "left" is actually a perfect demonstration of how most people on here feel whenever those people bring their useless generalisations to the table so hopefully this mini-affair has provided you and anyone else who felt my post applied to them (or who felt that your post was a rebuttal of mine instead of reinforcing what I said) with a bit of food for thought. I'm sorry you got offended though.

Unbelievable. And he says it in a way that he thinks makes him sound so smart and superior.

Carl the Llama Posted 13 August 2017 Posted 13 August 2017 Seriously the absence of any of our resident lefty-bashers in this thread is deafening given how quickly they fill up most post-terrorism threads. It's been a full day now and only one of them has said anything and that was to have a go at me for a comment they'd misinterpreted. I mean, you expect Muslims to denounce their terrorists so why aren't any of you doing the same? Fvcking hell even one of the far right groups that the driver was pictured demonstrating with have come out to try and distance themselves from him: Although it really would have helped if this wasn't their immediately prior tweet: To prevent further misunderstanding I don't seriously think anyone on here has a responsibility to denounce this cvnt (much like I don't think any Muslims should be made to feel that way about their extremists) but when you live by the sword... I am however genuinely concerned that none of you seem nearly as upset about this gross act of violence as you all are when it's a brown person driving a car into a crowd.
bovril Posted 13 August 2017 Posted 13 August 2017 Christ, just had a look through that Vanguard America feed and some of the twitter users it attracts. Who knew so many villages were missing idiots. 'Awakened Saxon'
Merging Cultures Posted 13 August 2017 Posted 13 August 2017 The right is becoming more extreme under this tw@t of a President. Politically it makes sense as the US is centre-right anyway, so to be 'relevant' the repubs (or people preying on fear) dig deeper. It's disgusting.

You do this a lot Carl"I'm not saying all Brexiteers are racist but all Brexiteers are racist". Now it's" you shouldn't have to condemn this but the fact you haven't proves you approve". I never get involved in these threads as a rule, school shootings, terrorists etc because it's a given that we all disapprove of murder. I'm not interested in competitive grief and anger.
Jimothy Posted 13 August 2017 Posted 13 August 2017 Once again a certain poster has missed the point by a million miles.
