Stadt Posted 19 February 2017 Posted 19 February 2017 Absolutely not. I think he probably will make a decent manager one day but Valencia as a first job was just a daft decision.
HybridFox Posted 19 February 2017 Posted 19 February 2017 Just now, Wookie said: Absolutely not. I think he probably will make a decent manager one day but Valencia as a first job was just a daft decision. The language and culture barrier too. Genuinely think a good football league club would have been a decent starting block, where the players would have respected him from his punditry. That said - never at Leicester tho
Tuna Posted 19 February 2017 Posted 19 February 2017 Oh yes I heard this last night. It was also mentioned he was banned from RL, is that true?
yorkie1999 Posted 19 February 2017 Posted 19 February 2017 Is this super fan David from Coalville, the scourge of football phone ins.

evil jack Posted 19 February 2017 Posted 19 February 2017 I don't mind him actually - I wouldn't want to live next door to him, but I do like his style on phone ins. I've said this on another thread, but I thought the 606 hosts were appalling on that phone call.

Yes, this is the same idiot who used to call RL every week and claims to speak for the fans despite his opinions being based solely on the drivel spouted by Stringer and Co. Gary Neville can stay well away from our club. David's thoughts that Mr Neville is the most knowledgeable pundit in the media and thus this makes him the perfect manager are misplaced in my opinion. Having listened to his conversation with Savage live on radio yesterday he came across as an absolute plonker particularly when they started discussing people's comments on social media. Absolutely David is entitled to his opinion but to claim that he speaks for every Leicester City fan is somewhat misguided.
Dickov22 Posted 19 February 2017 Posted 19 February 2017 Apart from his Gary Neville comment he was completely right. Thought Robbie Savage was extremely rude to him. Almost bullying over the radio.

Is there a midwife there who has a habit of dropping all newborns on their heads? I mean, I'm from Syston originally, so not much better, but seriously? Every single time I meet a bloke (or lass) from Coalville before or after a game on my travels, I come away thinking "what the hell was all that about"?

NFC used to be an abbreviation/term on mental health medical notes at the towers and other lunatic asylums in the county when describing not normal people .... NFC Normal for Coalville
Merging Cultures Posted 20 February 2017 Posted 20 February 2017 Neville would be good. 250,000 people chanting Ranieri's name? Who cares!!! What a ridiculous argument. Judge him on 38 games? He's had longer than that. I think quite a few of us saw how we changed our style of play part way through last season, sure we kept winning, but we could see that we went from pressing and attacking, playing our game, to playing to nullify the opposition, and that is how Ranieri sets up the team. EVERY commentator talks about how fast we are, how dangerous we are on the break, yet we don't use that pace any more, we sit back and get pressed so hard we can't counter. Especially dangerous when you have aging CBs. And it was up to CR and the club to find new CBs over the summer and winter. It didn't happen. We need a change and Neville wouldn't do a terrible job (again, the bar is set so low!!).
norwichfox Posted 22 February 2017 Posted 22 February 2017 Wouldn't want him near the club, not even cleaning the bogs...
MPH Posted 22 February 2017 Posted 22 February 2017 Not buying into this idea that because someone is a good pundit they make a manager. But in fairness, you can't judge him on the Valencia gig as that's a crazy first job - in a foreign country with a language you can't speak fluently. i prefer a manager who at least spends a couple of seasons in the champ or lower... doesdnt sit easy with me that their first job in English football is in the prem..
RonnieTodger Posted 22 February 2017 Posted 22 February 2017 He's correct in what he says about Ranieri, but articulates it like a moron. Needs someone who can put a sentence together to put Savage in his place.

Savage is a tosser. The way he tries to bully people and how he eats when talking is just disrespectful. Need a bit of entertainment, but Savage is just too much sometimes.

Finnegan Posted 22 February 2017 Posted 22 February 2017 Neville needs to take a solid, sensible job at the start of a summer, not another poison chalice. Anyone still laughing at his time in Valencia is an idiot that doesn't follow Spanish football. Los Che are an absolute state and are still a mess now, there's a huge rot at the club, the fans are some of the most hostile in Europe, the owners are barmy, the player's agent has more power than the gaffer and the whole lot are doomed.
Callabinho Posted 22 February 2017 Posted 22 February 2017 I actually agree. I think in this country Neville would be a decent manager, god only knows why he took the Valencia job when he can't speak a word outside of mancunian, however he's a thinker and clearly knows a lot about the game....get an enforcer along side him and he would be a decent manager one day. Once we've been mutilated tonight, would one of our more articulate fans like to tell Savage how it is?
foxes21 Posted 22 February 2017 Posted 22 February 2017 Why don't these ex-pro's start off managing in the lower leagues. Giggs said the other day, there aren't enough opportunities given to British managers? There's plenty of opportunity in the lower divisions, but he probably thinks that's beneath him.

It's much easier getting paid when you're sat on your arse talking shite in a comfy TV studio.
