Is this the same injury he got back at the start of the season? Couldn't have been a much worse start to his career for us. I still think on paper he looks a more than capable player in this league and with only 4 starts for us, we can't write him off yet. I actually think the opposite, and this injury will mean he does stay with us beyond the summer, as who will want to buy him with this injury and will we try to sell him (at a loss), when we still don't know if he is good enough yet. I'm sure many will already have made a judgement on him after only 4 starts, but like Benny etc, I hope he can get fit and be patient and come back and prove he is a decent player.
car1os Posted 3 April 2017 Posted 3 April 2017 I suspect it is. He's been unlucky to be fair. I reckon the club will give him another season - we've shown great patience by our players (James, Benaluoane, Bakayoko) in the past with long term injuries. Doesnt hurt having a plan b though - attach some stilts to his legs and push him towards Arsenal and Man Yoo, and Hide Ndidi!
Guest Col city fan Posted 3 April 2017 Posted 3 April 2017 He'll be gone in the summer. To be honest he's looked a terrible signing.
Sol thewall Bamba Posted 3 April 2017 Posted 3 April 2017 Who signed this guy, I want someone to moan at.
Sharpe's Fox Posted 3 April 2017 Posted 3 April 2017 Fvcking Ranieri and his bollocks signings. We could have got Gueye, who I don't think is anywhere near Kante's level but a good player, and as a result done more to keep Walsh but Claudio got this lad in. Hopefully he comes back fit but at the moment this a disaster of a signing.

After 4 league appearances and carrying an ongoing injury? I think he deserves a pre-season and a chance to impress once fully fit. I'd give him the pre-season plus 6 months until the next January window to make an impact. If not, then sell, probably back to Nice, as he captained them and was highly thought of.

He did it in his 2nd or 3rd appearance for us I believe, so he wasn't signed with a known ankle injury, he did it here. It's actually his only serious injury in his whole career according to TransferMarkt Can't blame the scouts for his injury as he has no record of any. Can only go on what we have seen on the pitch and 4 games in the league isn't enough for me personally. I'd like to see him after a thorough pre-season and fully fit.

Oh yeah I do also agree with you.
Guest Bob Hazels shorts Posted 3 April 2017 Posted 3 April 2017 A conversation with an ex employee that used to be in the thick of things ie not the car park guy. Of all the signings it was only Mendy he mentioned and was so mystified as to why we bought him
AmarteyAndChill Posted 3 April 2017 Posted 3 April 2017 Hopefully he can get a loan move back to nice if no ones willing to pay money for him. Regular football will be good for him and his confidence.
J.Lisemore Posted 3 April 2017 Posted 3 April 2017 Absolute garbage when he's played to be honest, although like some have mentioned, maybe a full pre-season might help him recover from this injury he's been carrying and kick on a bit.
KingKoala Posted 3 April 2017 Posted 3 April 2017 Injury is not an excuse for a professional footballer.

He was pinging the ball around for fun.

Nice bit of revisionism there. In his fleeting performances, he's average. He's not garbage by any stretch.

So was the rest of the team, and look how they have all changed in the click of a switch, so I would like to see him fully fit and in a team playing well, before we write him off.
