Both. Drop Mahrez for the first hour then bring him on for either Gray as a direct swap, or Shinji and move gray inside.

Mahrez has responded well to being dropped before, and 30 minutes against a tired sunderland could do wonders for his confidence going into the Atletico game

Alleluia.

I was begining to think it was only me who wants Mahrez benched.

Just read/listened through Shakey's pre match thoughts, injury updates, thoughts on Sunderland and a little bit about Stoke etc.

Never quite realised until he was manager just how great he is with the media, not in the same charming way as Ranieri, but when he talks people listen.

He's genuinely honest and gives insightful responses. Slightly more articulate than I expected too. What a bloke.

What , are you serious

Amartey did well by givng  more freshness to he  middle

albrighton can plsy  aganst  sunderland if he get rid  of the  flou

albrighton has no role in the away  match against atletico  madrid , this game is for  the players who can  control  the  balll

Even okazaki have no place also

Shakespeare have amartey  gray  king  chilwell   Slimani

The  crosses and the long  balls does  not fit in this game

Hope leicester  got three  points from game  and one point from everton  game with good  rotation to get to madrid  with

The players rested enoigh  to  get a good  result

Amartey

Seeing him with the ball at his feet on Saturday for the first time in ages reminded me of.........how poor he is on the ball.

He looked like child at his first ever football coaching class.

No way should this guy be playing for us.

Last comment quite harsh imo. I like Amartey but trouble is, he's either a machine 8/10 or he's a 3/10 piss poor waste of space. Guess that's his age, inconsistency etc. Needs to decide on a position and work hard to nail it down too, can't keep going on as a CM/RB/CB or he won't develop particularly well in any position.

I don't know the bloke; I only wish him the best and would not be cruel enough to say those things to his face.

However, I post on here to say what I think and as a midfielder he is definitely not up to the job.

Is he likely to get a chance as a defender? ...maybe not here.

I agree that he's never looked as confident on the ball as I'd like. But as a central defender he would not be massively different to Morgan, perhaps even an improvement in time, especially given his age.

I feel we're going to need creativity in this one particularly, could be a game for Mahrez.

He's brilliant at it, especially given that he's never really done all the media work regularly before.

Pearson was one extreme; blunt, fairly stubborn at times, but honest and told it how it was. If he had to protect the players he would, but normally by refusing to give the answers that the journos wanted.

Ranieri was the polar opposite; Airy-fairy, never really very critical (if he was, it always came across a bit jokey), fantastic for a sound-bite and protected the players by deflecting attention to himself or other light-hearted topics. It's why he (and Leicester) were the neutral's favourite last year.

Shakey strikes a happy balance between the two. He's clearly an intelligent bloke and articulates well, but he's also refreshingly honest and open. He's never going to be the eccentric figure like Claudio, but people cant help but like him anyway.

Admittedly it's easy to be positive when things are going your way (Claudio last season, Shakey so far this), so that might change. But so far, colour me impressed.

Gives me a lot of faith that he can take us forward beyond this season.

This will be the real test for me, when we have a poor performance and he perhaps has to make some tough decisions with dropping one or two players. At the moment everything is rosy and working well, but I'd like to see how tough and decisive he can be when he has to. It's often difficult to switch from the "good guy" with players and so far, that is all that has been needed, so some bigger tests to come I'm sure, So far he gets a 9/10 for me. The dropped point was only his subs against West Ham, where he brought on Slimani and Musa, rather than Amartey and Ulloa, who would both be better at defending a lead. That is being extremely picky though, and he really has been excellent since taking over and comes across as extremely honest and genuine and I am sure that is one reason the players back him 100%.

Albrighton or Gray?

..Shakey.  That is the question?

This was the original question...and for this game Gray, but for Everton/Palace/Madrid away then Albrighton...Gray comes back in for the home game v Madrid.

When we are at home we should be taking the game to the opposition, and Gray does that much better...Albrighton is more defensive and he and Fuchs combine really well, especially away from home when we have less of the ball.

Gray is still far from the finished article, he shows flashes of brilliance and for short spells he is sometimes unplayable, but his decision making and timing of passes remains poor...and from 60 mins on during the match v Stoke he was a virtual passenger, his one flash of brilliance apart...he is not in the same category of player as Mahrez yet, but he is very similar IMO...frustrating and brilliant in equal part.

I also wouldn't rule out the possibility of both playing, and Mahrez sitting this one out

Posted

Rumour is that Wes will sit this one out again, so Yohan should get another game.

I'd stick with the same side as Stoke personally, really go for the win so that we can enjoy our quarter final experience

Not just to aim for the top half, Hull are at home against Boro and we can't afford to let the gap between us slip to 3 points with the quarter finals coming up.

Got 2 tough away games vs Everton and palace coming up too.

Probablly play the reserves and could lose both

Defoe starting might be even better for us if he is not fully fit.

Good news for us either way, we either get no Defoe or an injured one!

Really hope we can get 3-0 up and then look to give Slimani, Chilwell and perhaps even Ulloa some decent minutes.

Obviously, I'll just take a 1-0 win if needed though!

Moyes in a little bother for comments he made regarding slapping a female reporter. Appears was said I'd jest but FA are ofc taking it seriously as they should with the concerns regarding sexism in sport.

Moyes and Sunderland under huge pressure regarding his outrageous comments to the reporter.  He might not be manager come kick off tomorrow.

Really bizarre thing for him to say to that reporter. It is probably something that was said in jest and the media have jumped on it. Will be interesting to see if the reporter comes out and clarifies it all, but it certainly is an unwelcome distraction for Moyes and Sunderland.

He apologised via phone and reporter accepted it. She didn't even report it to begin with but her colleagues jumped on it when they found out to squeeze some news out of it.

Non-story now I reckon.

This isn't a non-story.  How can the well paid manager of a premier league club telling a female in a male dominated environment that she might get a slap and she should watch herself in future not be a story.

This happened two weeks ago and it is only today, once the press have got hold of it does he come out and apologise.

It's all made worse as Sunderland have tried to sweep it under the carpet.  They clearly knew about it just like they knew about their paedo player, but only took action when the full facts appeared.

I feel sorry for their fans, having to endure all these off field antics whilst their team is a shambles on it.
