Both. Drop Mahrez for the first hour then bring him on for either Gray as a direct swap, or Shinji and move gray inside.

Mahrez has responded well to being dropped before, and 30 minutes against a tired sunderland could do wonders for his confidence going into the Atletico game

Agree, if Albrighton is fit, we should leave Mahrez on the bench. Give him a kick up the backside. I've been an Albrighton critic but he's looked sensational since Ranieri left.

Spoke with a Sunderland fan who saw them at Watford. Very poor and uninspiring. Hope we can take advantage and get on the front foot early.

After the toothless defeat at Swansea, I thought we were done for. But after Liverpool and Hull, I posted we could start to rein in Burnley and the others just above us and we now have started to do that. Those 4 wins have put us now in a great position. Forget about Hull and Palace winning. It's what we do that matters. This game is huge. Win it and I think the Mackams and Smoggies likely are gone. That leaves one other and on current form it won't be us. Three more wins will do it I reckon.Vardy to round the keeper like away at the end of last season.

Keep Gray in for this one. Not because I think he's better but it does no one any favours if he's dropped. It kills his confidence stone dead and I think Marc would understand anyway. At the end of the day he was the one who got poorly.

Benny or Morgan?

I doubt Morgan will be fit enough yet, so Benny. We need Morgan to be ready for the CL.

I hope one rolls in off the end of Benny's helmet in the 92nd minute just so we can witness that stupid forum of theirs going into total meltdown.

After years of bleach down the pan and attacking with the shitty brush I can't wait to finally see the big fat turd that is Sunderland finally flush down the football league toilet.

Same team if everyone is fit and healthy.

If Albrighton has been ill. then it's rare he would be back to 100% in few days and another start will do Gray good, especially after a decent performance.

Benny should play again and give Morgan as much time as he needs. Slimani will have to be patient, as Vardy and Okazaki were very sharp today.

I still think Slimani will prove to be a much more useful subsitute when we need a goal, as opposed to simply defending a lead.

Sunderland recent record in the Premier League is fairly mediocre. Only scraping 1 top 10 finish since promotion in 2007.

If they can have a 49,000 seater stadium then it makes a possible expansion to the King Power perfectly acceptable.

Albrighton or Gray?

..Shakey.  That is the question?

I know this would never happen but just for shlts n giggles I'd play both, Gray out wide and Albrighton in the centre in place of Drinkwater who's form hasn't improved much since Shakey's been in charge unlike his teammates. Albrighton has enough energy to play a central midfielder role plus he has the ability to thread killer balls through the middle for Vardy to gobble up, I think that's what's been lacking from DD all season, it's his continual inaccurate passes in the opposition half. Anyway dunno, Marc is clearly a winger so probably a daft idea  but just putting it out there.

Play Albrighton. And Gray against Everton. Gray has been excellent, but not quite enough to edge Albrighton's Premier and Champions League work - although if Gray impresses against Everton it'll be hard for Shakey to bring him on earlier (please) against Athletico.

I wouldn't actually do this for Sunderland but I do see some logic in Albrighton being able to do a job in CM. He works incredible hard, is a decent defender and can really pick a pass when he is on his game. I think he has the energy and possibly strong enough to win some battles in there too, although I think Drinkwater is perhaps stronger and more battle hardened than we think. It's the kind of thing I could see being tried in a cup match if we were ever struggling for a CM and certainly a position switch he might consider as he ages and loses his pace, similar to how Giggs moved inside.

I think it's important for Drinkwater and N'didi to continue on building a good understanding together though, as they will most likley be our future CM pairing for next season and beyond hopefully.

Once again 100% focus on this game and all it demands. And the manager will be able to highlight plenty of room for improvement on today's performance for all that we won and overcame an always competitive opponent.

At times some of our football was exhilarating today. Imaginative too. We're showing more threat too and our pace is back on the counter.

But we need to find a way to sustain our style and impetus through 90 minutes. We've no need to become apologists or to start playing what I call "nowhere" football and it could so easily have cost us today.

Relentlessly effective ruthlessness won us the title and that's what can win us other things if we continue to believe in our philosophy and what has made us so special at different times over these last three seasons and more.

But just like a Grand Pix car, we need to keep refining and fine-tuning what we have and making ourselves even more formidable. There was a time today - just after our second goal - when we started cutting the Stoke defence to pieces. But we couldn't maintain the pressure or didn't dare believe we were that good.

Over an hour's brilliance could have been wasted in a last 20 minutes of needless ineptitude - and that's what we need to improve. We need to cut out the nowhere football I mentioned earlier. Our strength is our positivity and self-belief. We can compromise in the bar afterwards.

Last season all the players were ridiculously fit throughout, which was mostly a byproduct of the Pearson era, with backroom staff and physios all working perfectly to keep the players in top shape for the full 90.

With all the changes that have supposedly been made this season, and the generally slower pace of our game under Ranieri, I wouldn't be surprised if some of the longevity in matches had been lost. We've suddenly flipped a switch and gone back to a very high intensity game plan, so it's hardly surprising if the fitness levels aren't quite at the level they need to be to sustain it for a whole match...yet.

I'm absolutely certain that if he's still here longterm this will be one of the first things Shakey addresses over the summer. There's not much he can do before then though, particularly with a heavy fixture list, so hopefully the players can push through and make it work.

I agree and I think we are going to see a very similar set up and process to what Pearson had and that can only be positive for us, as it was probably the key area where we could all agree that Pearson got absolutely spot on.

I predict we will have a tough pre-season planned with some proper pre-season matches lined up too, with trips away to some lower league teams etc, rather than these round the world trips that seem to do more harm than good.

I think we are going to end up with Pearson's methods, but with Shakespeare's own calmer approach to things. If we get that, then I'll be very happy! The real test will be the transfer window and the types of players we target and look to bring in. If he gets that right as well, then we could have a top manager on our hands!

About time these shithouses went down. hopefully a win to put the final nail in their coffin and  remain on course for a top 10 finish.

Moyes sounded a defeated man! No way can they save themselves this time. If we keep Defoe quiet, then we should be able to win this comfortably. I expect another 2-0 win.

Hopefully we can go 3-0 up and get some subs on quicker though, as I'd like to see Slimani, Mendy and even Musa all given a decent 30 mins if possible.
