Surprised they write so much crap about us on their forums. Last time I was up there, the 0-0 where we stayed up there was nothing but handshakes and well wishes for us in the boozers I was in.

dont underestimate how important a win tonight is to the remainder of the season. They are vulnerable and we need to ram home our advantage from the off. that includes the crowd!!!!!!

 

 

I couldn't agree more.

 

If we're on 36pts by the end of tonight it gives us so much more legroom to take more risks and utilise the rotation of the squad for future league games whilst we focus on the Champions League. It will also help our chances in the semi final if we get there. A win tonight and we're almost home and hosed.

I can't beiieve the hammer Moyes is getting over something that was entirely tongue in cheek. It belittles the real problems out there for women and the lack of will to do anything effective about them. Instead they turn on a decent guy and try to make an example of him for publicity's sake.

Pity those same reactionaries aren't presented with some real abusers of women and challenged to decide and effect their fate. Many, I'm sure, would turn out to baulk at such a responsibility.

Even in my own family there are those who theoretically want to protect women but wouldn't have the conviction to do it effectively. Moyes is just being kicked for the sake of it by a ragbag of activists seeking to make something out of nothing. Why don't they concentrate on the real arseholes out there and the proper justice (retrospective if necessary), that many of them deserve? Thought not!

what always makes me laugh about comments like this is that they invariably come from fans with no self awareness.

 

I mean, yeah, we're a yo-yo club of average stature. Them pointing it out doesn't offend me in the slightest.

 

But it's hilariously embarrassing when it comes from the fan of a yo-yo club of average stature.

 

They're from a bigger metropolitan area and get a few more people in their ground and they equate that with being massive, like Wednesday, Newcastle and all these other bang average clubs.

There are far more dislikeable clubs out there than Sunderland. There's some shite spouted on that forum (as with any forum), but I just find it funny when it comes from anyone in the north east- I think it's the accent and the fact that they are genuinely nuts up there.

Can't see anybody who matters under-estimating the importance of this game. Fully expecting us to go out there and get at them, hopefully the game's dead and buried by half time. Especially with how we seem to stop playing after about the 60 minute mark.

Moyes was never going to save Sunderland but if I were the club's owner I'd never see him sacked in the midst of the disgraceful witchhunt being fostered at the moment.

 

The man was being light-hearted. In today's society where little things are blown out of all proportion while real responsibility is avoided due to a lack of will to do what's permanently effective, he made a mistake which he's quickly been obliged to apologise for.

 

And that while real problem people have been tolerated for years before (sometimes) being brought to justice and, even then, all are living and breathing either among us still, or waiting for their eventual release from a prison where we've been footing the bill to keep them.

 

We really are such two-faced hypocrites. A decent man gets hammered in public while real bulllies get away with all sorts and are often back in society to do the same in next to no time.
